When God Is Up To Something

In times of famine, distress, heartache, and pain, we often ask, “Where is God?” God is still working and still moving in a way that transcends generations, for His plan must come to fruition. When God moves, we ought to move as well because God has a place that’s perfect for us to receive His provision. It may be dead, but God’s so good that He will provide for you even in the midst. Get ready because God is about to prosper you in a way you never saw coming!

Look at somebody in a hall of god.
It’s up to something.
Get your Bible to go
to Genesis chapter 26 verse 1 through
6,
and then we’re gonna drop down to verse 13 through 16. I
really wanted to read the whole thing,
but I didn’t to expedite the time I’m going to go this way.
Genesis 26, 1 through 6, and then we’re going to go down through 13:6. Say it again.
God is up to something.
How how many of you sense in the middle of I mean, I know it’s crazy right now.
Chaos everywhere. Globally, nationally and personally.
And yet in the middle of the acknowledgement of the fact that all that drama is going on, yet there is amongst believers a sense.
that god is up to something.
And I’m gonna share with you because I I try very hard to make sure that I have received more than a sermon, but a prophetic utterance from god.
that prepares your heart and mind for what is next. Let’s read the
word of god. And as we read the word of god, I may stop occasionally and dissect it
And there was a famine in the land besides the first time that was in the days of Abraham.
So this has happened before. And Isaac went on to Abimelek, King of the Philistines, onto Gerard.
And the lord appeared unto him, and the lord appeared unto him and said, go not down into Egypt.
I’m a do that later with Joseph. dwell in the land, which I shall tell the wait.
Stay right there. Dwell in the land. which I shall tell be of.
Stay where I told you.
Duel is the land which I should tell the there’s something about being in the right place?
At the right time, I would have hated to not been here this morning.
If my wife would have come home telling me about the service, I could never get secondhand information that clearly enunciated the magnitude of what god has already done, dwell in the land, which I will tell the oath sojourn in this land.
Sojourn in this land. In other words, I want you to stay in this land and tear in this land and I will be with thee, and I will bless thee.
I will be with thee, and I will bless for unto thee and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries God.
And I will perform the oath, which I swear unto Abraham by Father. This didn’t even start with you.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. God is still answering your grandmother’s prayers.
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven and will give unto thy seed all these countries and end thy seed and end thy seed and end thy seed.
So you got the seed in thy seed in thy seed, shall all the nations of the earth be blessed?
glory to god.
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandment to my statues and my laws.
And Isaac dwelt in Gerard.
He stayed where god put Now we’re gonna go down at at, uh, to verse 13, but in between these passages, Isaac has had this encounter while he’s in Gerard, where he has lied about who his wife was.
He doesn’t want, uh, Abimelec to know that Rebecca is his wife. And so he lies about it.
And Abimelec looks out and finds Isaac kind of flirting with his wife.
King James Verizons, his sport And then we’ll forget old church from other one time, Toby.
She used to work in the sport now. I didn’t know what a sporting house was.
So I said, what is
a sporting house mother? She said, oh, baby, you know what a sport and house is?
I said, no, man. I don’t know what a sport and house is.
And if y’all don’t know, I’ll have to tell you later.
It was hard for me to associate the church mother, you know, So the King James version says he was sporty with So you you’ve you’ve figured out what what does it mean?
You see, and and and all of a sudden, Abilayk knew that that Isaac was lying saying that Rebecca was his sister, because
don’t nobody sport with his sister they’re not supposed to anyway.
Even Abemollek knew that in the old testament. leave your sister alone.
And he got upset with him, and he got angry with him because he had hidden it I’m gonna go into this a moment.
It’s interesting that Isaac repeats the same pattern as his father, Abraham had repeated only he’s even worse.
And I’ll tell you a while later, He’s even worse, and he did it without seeing his father do it.
Because when his father did it, he was not yet born.
So he did not do it because he had seen his father’s behavior, and he wasn’t modeling it and yet he repeated it.
Very interesting how things convey from generation to generation, whether you see it or not, some of your proclivities are embedded in you.
Oh my god.
In spite of the atrocity of his his behavior and his habits and his sins.
The next verse right after that is dealt with, says, and the man wax great.
and went forward and grew until he became very great.
It’s fascinating to me how this text fascinates One moment they’re telling me Isaac is a liar.
And the next moment they’re telling me
that he went on and grew great. One moment they’re telling me
that there’s a famine, and the next moment they’re telling him If you stay in the land, I place you in spite of the famine around you, I’ll feed you in the famine
y’all did. God says I’ll feed you.
in the famine.
Stop talking to me about the famine because the famine don’t have anything to do with you.
A 1000 may fall at the right side. 10,000 may fall at the
left side. It shall not come out that dwelling place.
I will feed you in the fam because this ain’t got nothing to do with your environment.
Isaac, this is between me and you.
And even though your behavior vacillates, anyway, let me For he had possessions of flocks and possessions of urge and great store of servants, god blessed isaac saw.
And, see, the reason god blessed him so is that Isaac sold a seed in that land.
He sowed a seed in that land and god blessed him, and he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great store of servants, and the Billestines envied him.
For all the wells, which his father’s servants, had dinged in the days of Abraham, his father, the Philistines had stopped them and filled them with earth.
And Abimelech said unto Isaac, go from us for thou art much mightier than we.
My subject this morning is when god is up to something.
I appeal to your instincts not your intellect.
Because when god is up to something, he may not inform you what he’s up to, and yet he is up to something.
I can’t wait for y’all. I’ve been waiting on y’all to get here. I woke up.
It was still dark.
couldn’t wait for church because the Holy Spirit told me I am working even when my people don’t see that I’m working.
I am up to something.
Are you hearing what I’m saying?
Let’s pray. Spirit of the living god felt fresh on your word today.
Move in a supernatural way is only you can move.
Have your way in the midst of your people, great god that you are. You are sovereign.
You are absolute. Are the
king kings the lord of lords,
the I am of Israel, the mighty god, the prince of peace of her husband, father, the a good one.
All power is in your hand. A suspicious god.
ruler of winds and waves and seas and oceans and planets and galaxies all power is in your hand.
And yet you can focus on me to the point that the hairs on our head are numbered, not counted, but numbered.
If one gets caught in a comb, you know which one it was.
That’s how aware you are of me.
I pray that that awareness would collaborate with this tech in such a supernatural way that we are endowed with the sensation of having a conversation with god.
and I have to meet you for it.
I trust you for it. I’m reliable before it.
I mean on your fort. Do it in the midst of your people
in the name of Jesus. We pray. somebody’s shouting, man. You may be seated.
Yeah. Let’s go to work.
I want you to notice as we preface this text that that both Abraham and Isaac have this in common They are surjourners.
They are people who are on a journey. They are people who are primarily nomadic.
There are year there are years that go by before they stabilize in one place.
I say that only to point out to you that walking into the blessings and the purpose of god is a journey.
It’s not an instantaneous thing. It doesn’t happen automatically.
when god says to Abraham, give me out of that country and away from that kindred and go to a land that I will show the of.
He’d been zapping there. We live in this automated age where we wanna be zapped into things.
Not understanding how essential the journey is.
The people of god in the Old Testament were nomadic moving from place to place. living in tents.
They were prepared to go at his beck or call.
And yet, we are trying to build monuments to a god who is a movement.
Your god is a moving god.
from the book of Genesis from the spirit of the lord moved upon the face of the deep to the book of revelations, even so come lord Jesus.
Every time you look at god, he’s on the move.
One point he was moving through the tops of the trees.
rustling in the leaves, and they were moving with god as god was moving.
And you got to move when god says move, and you got to be steal when god says be still because god is a moving god.
He has always resisted living in houses.
We built houses for a god who will not be stationary.
He is nomadic and like him, those who follow him, flow with him.
So Abraham went on a journey And now Abraham and now Isaac and Abraham and Sarah are deceased, and Isaac is a grown man and he too is on a journey.
Now often what causes the journey is the famine.
Our proclivity is to pray against the famine.
When often the famine is the catalyst that god uses to move you from place to place, Now not just famines for food.
It can be famines for peace, famines for life, famines for opportunity, but often when god doesn’t move in the place you want him to move, he will allow you to experience famines to force you to pack your tent up and move to the next dimension.
That’s why all your rebuking the devil and binding the devil hasn’t worked because god can allow the famine to move you into the next dimension of what he is going to do in your life.
Am I preaching good? The other thing I want you to notice is that god moves generationally while most of us think situationally, God moves generationally.
You might not like this part.
We are always praying to god about situations when god has a plan that is generational.
Sometimes god doesn’t move you for you. He moves for your descendants.
He moves you to position you in a place that in your lifetime, you don’t fully understand exactly why you did what you did, but out of that movement, god is thinking generationally while you are thinking situationally.
I’m gonna tell you why this is important.
A lot of you are disappointed because god hasn’t fixed your situation.
but god is concerned about your generation.
And sometimes god will use your situation to move your generation into the place that he wants him to go.
Sure. We all wanna see our children, bless us. No doubt about we wanna see
our children blessed. But we we are so focused on our dream, our comfort, our calling that we seldom see the omniscience of god’s divine strategy.
That is say that sometimes we don’t accept inconvenience to accomplish divine purpose.
Purpose will always require inconvenience.
Do you hear
what I’m saying to you?
I said, do you hear what I’m saying to you?
God tells father Abraham that his children will adjourn in Egypt for 400 years.
And afterwards, they will come out with great substance before Abraham dies.
God speaks to him and says your children will adjourn in Egypt for 400 years.
And afterwards, they will come out with great substance.
I only bring this up to let you see how far ahead god is thinking.
God has a 400, at least a 400 year plan.
you praying about next week.
And and god is telling Abraham go ahead and rest and don’t worry about anything.
I got a 400 year strategy.
And the Bible says in Ephesians that he work of all things after the council of his own will.
That means that god is working things, not after the council of your will, But after the council of his own will, then it goes on to say which he had purposed in himself.
Are you hearing what I’m saying?
Now it’s hard to preach this to a narcissistic society who thinks everything is about you.
It’s very difficult to preach this kind of message to a generation of people who have jiffy cornbread.
half of this rumor has never tasted anything but instant grits.
Most of this room doesn’t remember what a rotary phone was
or a party line.
We got an Apple

We can’t remember numbers anymore.
because the machines are sapping our intelligence because when nothing is required of you, you lose the ability to remember it.
I grew up at a time that you had to remember people’s phone numbers.
Now the one who could remember it at 15 can’t remember it now at 65, not because I’m old, I’m spoiled.
My phone just does it quick. I hit the name, and it dials for me.
Sometimes convenience is an enemy to intelligence.
And it creates an atmosphere that we are so caught up in culture that we expect god to submit to culture,
but god is god.
God is god before there was a whirlwind or a
this or that. God was god god was god god was god god was god before Google.
God was god before Microsoft. God was god before technology.
God was god before any of the things that we take for granted now, and we expect god to work like our little machines.
in our own time, but he tells Abraham after 400 years your seed will come out with great substance.
It is the afterwards of god that we don’t talk about.
If it doesn’t happen quickly, we get angry with a god who has the end plan from the beginning.
This thing has already sent y’all.
You’d have pulled up a chair and front of your LED screen and you’re watching the news, like, god is trying to figure it out.
First thing in the morning, you’re turning it on.
You’re turning on your phone for updates. God doesn’t do updates.
Your update is past date to god.
Your updates are outmoded by god.
God has determined the end from the beginning You know, when I’m not doing this, we shoot film films and produce films, and I used to think that films were shot in sequence.
but they’re not for budgetary reasons alone, often the end is shot from the beginning.
So that when you’re in the editing suite, all you have to do is edit it into the ending because the ending is already set.
In biblical terms, this is predestined. predester.
I’m telling you half of the things you’re worried about are already set.
they’re already in place. They’re already there.
Now now now now you must understand that god is working on something that is generational, and we’re reading about something that is situational.
And what god is talking to Isaac about is about his dead father Abraham and the covenant that he made with him.
And he said, I have given Abraham my word. Abraham is dead.
And god is keeping his word to a dead man.
Now you know if god’s integrity is strong enough to keep his word to a corpse?
How much more will he keep his word?
Come on, sir. how much more will he keep his
word towards you? Most people, they keep their word while you’re living at bed, not most some.
I’m just few. I’m keeping the word when you’re living. Very few people will keep the word after you’re gone.
Abraham is dead. and god is directing his seed, icing, into a place of blessing in the middle of a famine because god has given his word to protect his seed.
Somebody threw your hands up and say protect my seed.
protect my seed, protect my seed, protect my son, protect my daughter, protect my seed, protect my resources, protect my finances, everything I commit into your hands.
I committed into your hands for your protection.
Regardless to what Crocs is saying, regardless to what MSNBC is saying, regardless to what is going on in the world, regardless to what’s going on on CNN, my prayers protect my seen.
I don’t care how many famines come in other places. Lead me beside the steel waters.
Lead me in the green pastures.
put me in the place that you want me to be because god has a place for you where the blessings will flow Often the blessing is only in that place.
If you forsake that place, he said, don’t leave where I put you.
Because once I put you in a place, I put your provision in the place.
So like Hagar who ran away from Sarai, God said, the only reason you’re in a desert and your baby is crying and about to die is because you left the place.

Stay right here.
The enemy is trying to woo you this way and that way, stay right here.
When I move, you move.
when when I move, somebody said, when when when when god moves, I move.
I’m not gonna move till god when god moves, I’ve never built a house.
I stayed in a tent. I stay ready for change.
I stay ready for transition.
Now this makes a lot
of people uncomfortable because you don’t like change, but change is inevitable. Change is inevitable.
This whole text is nothing but change. The whole thing is relative to change.
Now there there are 3 patriarchal characters from which god will establish himself in the earth.
Generally, when one sets out to bill, the first thing to be considered is the bill when one sets out to build the first thing it to be considered is the bill.
Nobody gets ready to bill a house without asking how much it cost.
to walk with god is expensive.
If you are going to build,
there will always be a bill.
You don’t start building and then ask about the bill unless you’re stupid.
I have to have an out clause because some people do that.
Let me say it about no man go off to bill without counting up the costs.
So there’s a correlation between building and billing.
What I’m not trying to say is gonna cost you something.
It’s always gonna cost you something. You shout about the harvests,
but you ignore the seed.
you you you shout about increase, but you don’t understand that in order to increase, you got to decrease You shout about being exalted, but you resist being humble.
And because you refuse to be humble, god resisted the proud.
God won’t pick you up because you already acted up.
Excuse me for being generational, but back in our day, we called it UPDY.
She acted all UPDY. See, we I thought UPDY, we act up because we wanna impress people.
But if you really wanna go up, humble yourself.
And the more you humble
yourself, the more god will exalt you, the more god exalts you, you gotta be careful.
with success, you gotta be successful because success will make you drunk. Success will
go to your head and make you start talking silly to people, that at the same people you meet on your way up, you’re gonna meet them.
Now you understand here that Isaac is experiencing a blessing because he sowed a seed in that land.
The Bible
is careful to say in that land, Now the land that they gave him, because because Aussie is a Hebrew, the land that the Philistia gave him wasn’t particularly good land.
And he’s kind of, uh, leasing the land.
He doesn’t own it, but god blesses him in something that he doesn’t own. all around him.
The people have the best land. He has the weakest soil and the greatest harvest.
Whenever the soil is weak, and the harvest is abundant, that’s showing you that god is with you.
Because wherever god is, he’ll take less and do more with it.
Do y’all hear what I’m talking about? I’m talking about your daddy.
You ought to be cheering your daddy on. I’m talking about your daddy.
I preached a few weeks ago, you had permission.
And do
you remember that? How many of you remember? I you have to today,
we are looking at you have provision because it’s not enough to have permission if you don’t have provision.
I give you permission to go to France.
But if I give you provision and you don’t have provision, permission gets you excited, but it doesn’t get you to France.
You’re gonna have to have some provision with your permission, but don’t worry about it.
God’s gotta cover. God’s gotta cover. God’s gotta cover. God’s gotta God’s got it covered. God’s got it covered.
God’s got it covered. God’s got it covered.
Gotta whatever you have permission for God’s got provisioned for it.
Permission and provision will always hold hands. They hang out together. They run around together.
When god gives you permission, he will always provide the provision Now this time, he has provided it in Gerard.
So he says, go to Gerard. Don’t go to Egypt.
Stay right in Dravar because I had put your provision there.
They give him some raggedy soil And in spite of his raggedy soil, he has an increased harvest.
There are some people in this room.
that have had green harvests out of bad soil. Oh, no. Wait. Wait.
Wait a minute. There are some people in this room that don’t look
like where they came from. I’m a I’m a break it down.
I’m a break it down till you
get it. There are some people who came against all odds by all rights.
You shouldn’t even be where you are right now.
In people went back and saw where you came from, it would absolutely blow their mind.
You didn’t come from good soil. You didn’t come from good stock. You didn’t come from a good neighborhood.
You didn’t come from
a collegiate environment. You didn’t come from the best situation.
Some of y’all started out with the most atrocious situations, but because god was with you,
Let me remind you how
to praise the lord. Now that you have harvested in spite of where you came from.
Don’t you get here and start acting all funny like you got here by yourself?
when in fact, you’re the first one in your family to be a doctor.
You’re the first one in your family to have a degree.
You’re the first one in your family to break through all the barriers and all the obstacles.
You’re the only one out of your class, not locked up in jail, not locked up in you could’ve lost your mind.
You could’ve had a nervous breakdown.
You’ve been through enough stuff that you ought to be in a mental institution chewing on a piece of cotton.
and yet, god’s got you out here functioning and moving and going around.
And you worried about a car You ought to be shouting about your mind.
You ought to be shouting about your head. You ought to be shouting about your leg.
You ought to be shouting about your peace. You ought to be shouting right where you are. God.
Has a blessing for you.
does god have the provision to go with the permission?
does god have the provision to go with the provision?
The question is absolutely yes.
And yet, there remains
a question, are you willing to dig for it?
Are you willing to move for it.
Are you willing to sweat for it?
You know god has it, but just because god has it, that mean it’s gonna fall within your convenience.
There’s still gonna be something required of you in order to get what god has for you.
look at your neighbor and say,
I know he’s got it for me.
I may not have it right now, but
I know he’s got it for me.
I may not look like it right now, but I know he’s got it for me.
I may not even know where it is yet, but I
know he’s got for me.
I know he’s gonna bless me. I know he’s gonna bless me.
I know he because he swore he sworey was gonna bless me.
He he gave me a oath. He gave me a promise. I know he’s gonna bless.
I don’t know who I’m talking to today. but I’m talking to somebody in this room.
You gotta covenant with god. You gotta covenant with god. God bless you in bad soil.
You came from bad background. You were born on
the wrong side of the tracks. The odds were against you from
the beginning. They didn’t even like you in school, and look at god. Look what the lord has done.
Look where god has brought you from. Let’s take her 30 suckers and just praise him for progress.
yadayadayada. Prazing for progress.
Prazing for progress, praising for progress, praising from proper Prazing for breaking the rules, praising for turning it around, praising for opening up doors, praising for making ways out of I can’t hear y’all.
Somebody typed it on the line. Somebody write it in the chat. Somebody speak a word.
I came from bad soil. I came from a disruptive family.
I came out of a dysfunctional house and still arise
and still arise and still arise
and still So you spent
so much time talking about what you don’t have.
You need to stop and start praising for what you do have.
I’m gonna give you 30 seconds to let hell know.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. you don’t know what you just did.
When you acknowledge him in all your ways, he will direct your path.
He will order your step He will nudge you and tell you what to do.
He will tell you when to move. He will tell you when to be still.
If you start acknowledging god, you won’t feel so lonely like you out here by yourself.
He’ll wake you up early in the morning. and whispering your ear and say, don’t go to Egypt.

It feels like somebody has just been thinking back over where they came from and the strides they made and the journey they’ve been on and how they had to move and switch and go here and go there and yet god bless him to be where they are.

Whatever praise you got in your belly. Whatever you’re feeling in your spirit,
whatever’s going on inside of
you, open your mouth and let it on.
Let’s digress a minute.
We’re gonna digress a minute, and
I wanna set some things in order
set the text in context
to help you to extrapolate from the text to the particularities that I want you
to understand so that you will be equipped to see your life from a panoramic perspective rather than to focus on your immediate situation.
when we understand that Abraham Isaac and Jacob are primary characters of the Pennantuck.
The Pennantuck is the first five books in the Christian Bible.
And it it it it is often all that the prophets had to work with.
It comprises a creation story, noah’s flood.
It talks about the early days of Abraham and how god began to deal with Abraham Isaac and Jacob throughout the Old Testament, god refers to himself as the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
but don’t be deceived by that. That doesn’t mean that he wasn’t everybody else’s god.
But it does mean that Abraham Isaac and Jacob are at the beginning of a new strand and a new order.
And they are the foundational patriarchs of of which the Old Testament would be built upon.
Some of you are at a foundational level. You’re setting new trends. You’re setting new standards. You’re setting new directions.
You’re not going in
the way of your forefathers. You started you started to blaze a new trail.
You have broken the yoke of yesterday. You are moving into a new future.
You yourself our paradigm shift. You’re a change in the family narrative.
You’re a change in the community narrative You are chained in the story.
Look at your neighbor and say it starts with you.
God uses Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not because he is not the god of everybody else.
But it is through Abraham Isaac and Jacob that god ultimately will transform the thinking of the world who is primarily filled with polygamous, idolatry, and debauchery.
He will keep a holy line of people that ultimately will scatter all over the world but he uses Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
He uses Abraham, first of all, to produce a seed.
But lest we start to make a god of Abraham. God waits till Abraham’s body is dead.
And when Abraham’s body was dead, and he could no longer produce a seed.
God gives him a seed.
that hits the dead womb of Sarah and quickens it and brings it back to life.
Now as long as I call it a seed, you don’t get it.
But 42 generations later, when a virgin named Mary brought forth a son, he said, I am the seed of Abraham.
Now I’m talking about Jesus. Jesus says I am the seed of Abraham.
In other words, I am what day the Abraham’s loins life I know it was Jesus, because Jesus also says, I am the resurrection and Sarah’s womb was dead.
But when Jesus hit Sarah’s womb, he wicked it and brought it back to light.
And in spite of her sagging breasts and wrinkled knees, she was with child.
And everybody was trying to figure how did this old woman get a baby?
It’s because when Jesus gets in your womb, he will bring life where there was no life at all.
have them now who I’m talking
to today, but god is getting ready to quicken some dead stuff some dead homes, some dead churches, some dead marriages, some dead businesses because he is the resurrection.
He is the resurrection and the life.
He not believing on me, though he were dead yet Shelley Neal. Abraham produces a seed.
Isaac passes the seed.
and he passes the seed and the blessing of the birthright to Jacob.
Jacob is poor in character, but evolves the seed through 3 women to 12 sons.
The 12 sons become the 12 tribes of Israel.
Are you hearing what I’m saying?
So god cannot afford to let Isaac go down because Isaac has to pass the seed.
he has to pass Sometimes god doesn’t bless you for you.
He’s blessing you because of what’s gonna come through you.
Oh, y’all don’t hear what I’m saying. Does anybody hear what I’m saying?
He it’s not about you. It’s not about your convenience.
In fact, he will put you in an inconvenient situation and expose you to a famine to shift you to the right place at the right time so that you can conceive and
do what god wants you to do when he wants
you to do it. Abraham was blessed.
If Abraham is blessed and Isaac is his seed, Isaac also has to be Today, I wanna focus on Aussie because Aussie is generally not really talked about a whole lot.
He’s not really talked about a whole lot.
But Isaac has a grown man, is standing in the middle of a famine flourishing Isaac’s dang means laughter.
And the lord told me to tell you, he’s gonna make you laugh.
I don’t think you heard me.
He’s gonna make you laugh. He’s not just gonna make your mama laugh. He made Sarah laugh.
He’s gonna make you laugh. He’s gonna make you laugh.
He’s gonna make you laugh because god’s gonna take the little you saw and he’s gonna give you such increase out of it that people aren’t even gonna understand how you got the thing that you got.
God said he’s gonna make you laugh. Ain’t no laugh like the laugh you have when you by yourself.
and nobody else is around. And you think of something burst out.
Is anybody in here that been in the house by yourself and just burst out and started laughing?
let it the
other day, I just start I thought about something, and I just started laughing. I thought
if anybody comes in here, they’re gonna think I’m crazy.
with nothing on TV, with nothing on the radio, but what I thought of the
goodness of Jesus and all that he’d done for me, I didn’t shout I didn’t dance. I just started laughing.
I want every grateful person in this room
to just take a moment and just start thanking god.
Isaac is laughter.
The miracle baby of Abraham and Sarai. of Abraham Sarai, he is absolute laughter.
He is joy complete.
He is accomplishment and yet he is complicated.
I’d say he’s complicated for this reason. there’s no question that Isaac is a good man.
He’s already proven that while his father was living in the fact that he was groomed when Abraham walked him up to the altar.
He was not a little bitty boy.
He was not a little Billy boy, because little Billy boys couldn’t carry the wood.
He is old enough to resist the will of his father, but has become obedient to the will of his father because Isaac is a type of price And and and Isaac has become obedient even if it means death.
So Isaac lays down on the altar.
like Jesus laid down on the cross and became obedient unto death.
knowing that his father had raised his hand to smite him with the knife.
Isaiah says Jesus was smitten of god. Do you hear what I’m saying to you?
Do you hear what I’m saying to you?
Isaac is that obedient, Josephus, the historian says, that somebody asked Isaac why did he become so obedient?
He said it would have been better that I not be born than for me
to be born. and not do the will of my father.
So there’s no question that Isaac is a good man.
But the complication is he is also a selfish, narcissistic, Lyer.
Oh, I lost you.
I lost you because you think there are good people and there are bad people.
And as long as you can categorize people, you feel comfortable.
But the problem is you can be a good man and still do bad things.
you can be a good man and still be flawed. Let all the married people say, man.
You scared to say, man, because he’s sitting there.
But you can be good over here. and be bad over there.
And Abe and Isaac is complicated because in spite of the fact that he is totally devoted to his father, and submitted himself even unto death.
When it comes down to being in Gerard, he lies about his wife to keep himself from being killed.
He told Abimelec, the reason I lied is that had I told you she was my wife, you might kill me to get her, which also means she was fine.

is fine when you’re scared to admit.

So it was a half life. Isaac was a whole lot.
Rebecca was at best his cousin. He completely lied. That’s fine.
but it’s a lie. He endangered the woman he should have protected.
He put her in a position to be raped and to be taken.
He insulted god with his lie because god had promised to be with him in Gerard.
and god had promised him that his seed would be blessed.
So if you believed god, Why should you lie?
Like most lies, his deception was rooted in terror and fear and fear has torment.
Most people lie because they are scared.
Oh, I hit somebody.

And the eyes are shifting like he talking about me.
Whatever you are scared about, you will lie about.
So the next time somebody lies to you, Ask them money.
You’re scared of.

In the midst of this complicated person, there are things that I admire about, Isaac.
He has tenacity. He has tenacity. I’m a show you in a minute.
He has a even killed temperament.
And he even has a fever that cannot be ignored, even though he has flaws, you wanna put people in boxes because boxes make you comfortable.
He’s nice. She’s nasty. She’s hateful. She’s my sister friend. So I’m sorry.
That’s why you keep getting hurt. because you expect people to stay in your box.
In reality, everybody in here is complicated.
I ain’t scared of none of y’all.
I don’t understand every one of you. I’m sixty five years old.
I ain’t scared to know where I Nobody. You complicated. You complicate.
You wouldn’t complicate it when you was dating, but now you made you you know, you complicate it.
Your wife know you complicated. Your husband
know you complicated. You look all good on the outside, but everybody in here is complicated.
Now if you can love your complicated self, how come you can’t love my complicated self?

The truth of the matter even good people have flaws.
God leaps over top of his flaws.
and blesses him anyway right after the lie.
Abimelech sends out a decree. Don’t nobody touch that woman.
And it drove me. I said, why is a beveledge so honorable all of a sudden?
And I started trying to study his religious to understand why he is so honorable.
And then I then then as I began to study and look back, I don’t know why it’s so honorable because Abimelech has been through this before.
He’s gone through this with Abraham, and god has told Abimelech don’t you Dutch that woman.
And Abimelech is a friend of god. Do you not know god will stop your enemy’s plot?
You don’t hear what I’m saying to you.
If everybody in this room who had been plotted against and god stopped the plot, what makes some noise they believe me.
No.
Somebody said, god stopped it. I wouldn’t be here today, but god stopped it. I would have been destroyed.
but god stopped it. I never would have made it, but god stopped it.
I would have been assassinated, but god stopped it. Do you know how many death threats I get?
But god stopped it? I keep preaching in the middle of everything because trust god to stop it.
If god don’t stop it, it
can’t be stopped. I’m not gonna hide from nobody. God this god, and he’s still in control.
He’ll stop the gun truck going on. I wish I had a witness in here somebody,
he stopped you from getting killed in
the car wreck. He stopped cancer, growing in your body. He stopped you from blowing your brains out.
God stopped it even when I tried to hurt myself.
