We serve a God who is always attentive. Sometimes, to keep us on the right path, He goes ahead of us and makes our crooked ways straight. In those moments, we realize that only God could do such things. What I love most about Him is that even when we veer off course, He is there too. You may wonder how God is going to work it out, but when He said in Scripture that “all things will work together for your good,” He wasn’t just speaking to the people in the text—He was speaking to all who listen and follow His voice.
Don’t let the challenges surrounding the promise make you doubt its existence. Yes, there are times when we need to see what’s happening around us, but there are also moments when wisdom tells us it’s time to let go and trust. We can be inspired by witnessing God’s work in others’ lives, but when we focus too much on others, we can miss what God is doing in our own lives. It’s easy to compare and feel like God isn’t moving for us when we see others prosper. But when we shift our attention back to our own journey, we realize that God sees us.
Blessings don’t just randomly fall into our lives. We serve a God who pays attention to our needs and gives us exactly what we need, precisely when we need it. If we could testify, we would share those undeniable moments when God showed up in ways that were impossible to ignore. He knew what we needed in our grief, in our pain, and in every season of hardship. Only God could know exactly what word or moment of worship would comfort us.
This truth reminds me of David’s praise in Psalm 8, where he marvels at how the God who created the heavens, the stars, and the galaxies, is mindful of us—small and insignificant as we may feel. God, who placed the sun and moon in the sky, still pays attention to the details of our lives. Even when we feel neglected or lost, God sees us. He knew we wouldn’t have certain relationships, so He provided others. He knew the gaps in our lives, and He filled them.
God doesn’t just notice us in passing—He pays close attention to our brokenness and prepares the way for us before we even step into it. When we feel forsaken or confused, He reminds us that He’s paying attention. When He talks about restoring what the locusts have eaten, He’s speaking of His awareness of every loss, every betrayal, and every hardship we’ve endured. And when the time comes for restoration, we’ll see that He never left us, that He was always aware of what we needed along the way.
Even when life feels chaotic and scattered, God knows every step you’ve taken, every word spoken against you, every dream and hope you’ve carried. He has always been mindful of you. Psalm 8 shows us that while God runs the universe, He also knows how to step into the mess of our lives and tend to what troubles us.
