Peter, Gomer, & The Love of God | Jonathan Cahn Sermon
SCRIPTURE: For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Romans )
DEVOTIONAL: What is Faith? The most important thing a believer should know after being born-again and filled with the Holy Ghost is faith. It’s one of the most important subjects to learn and master in our Christian walk. At least four times in the Scriptures it says, “The just shall live by faith.”
Simon Peter broke his pledge to messiah, he said, I will never, I swear I’ll never, and look what he does, but messiah still went to the cross for him, God was still faithful to him, even though he wasn’t faithful to God.
And it was his faithfulness to Simon Peter.
In the face of his lack of faithfulness that changed Simon Peter ultimately convicted him because too often we’re going by our own righteous and we think we’re okay, but when you fall on your face, you realize God loves you just as much.
That’s when it changes you, when you’re not focused on you anymore, you’re focused on him.
Remember Jose to the prophet, Jose, not personally, but remember Jose and Gomer, his wife, God says, marry a prostitute.
So he did. And then he says, then he says, she was basically saying she was not faithful to him.
And then God says, yes, you know Jose to, this is me in Israel, Israel is the prostitute, I have loved him and faithful, but you have not been faithful to me, you’ve gone off of every time off off and you can easily feel like that we all mess up, you go off, that’s human nature, but at the end he says, go Jose to love again, this one and it says it says, and and and the the implication is she ended up being in slavery and he he bought her back says, go again and love her again, because because I’m gonna love Israel again, I’m gonna make a new covenant with her.
And so and and that’s when it says, But then then he says, he says, be faithful now and and it’s the same thing.
It’s we’re on, you know, in the face of our unfaithfulness, God still loves us.
And it was his faithfulness to Simon Peter.
In the face of his lack of faithfulness that changed Simon Peter ultimately convicted him because too often we’re going by our own righteous and we think we’re okay, but when you fall on your face, you realize God loves you just as much.

It’s we’re on, you know, in the face of our unfaithfulness, God still loves us.
He doesn’t break his word to us. He’s faithful when we’re not.
That’s what changes us when you realize that he has been forgiven much is the one who loves much.
