LIFT Daily Prayer: Resting in His Tender Mercies and Faithful Preservation

Good morning, friends. Today is Thursday, November 6th, our 312th day of the year, with just 53 days left. Our reflection this morning comes from Psalm 40:11:

“Do not withhold your tender mercies from me, O Lord; let your lovingkindness and your truth continually preserve me.”

What a beautiful and powerful verse. Whether we are here to praise God or bring our heartfelt requests before Him, this prayer speaks directly to our need for His mercy and care.

We depend on the Lord’s tender mercies for everything. His lovingkindness and truth are what continually preserve us, especially when life feels uncertain or when we face opposition. Perhaps there are those around us who resist God’s work in our lives or even seek to harm us. In those moments, we can lean on God’s steadfast love and truth for protection and guidance.

Psalm 40 is not only a psalm of deliverance but also one of divine preservation. Imagine the Lord, tenderly caring for us like a loving parent, while simultaneously standing ready to protect us from harm. His watchful presence over our souls ensures that we are preserved through every trial.

In these times of widespread deception, lies, and false teachings, the call of this psalm becomes even more urgent. We must not be distracted or led astray but remain rooted in God’s Word. Let us seek His tender mercies daily and rely on His lovingkindness and truth to shield us from all deception.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we ask that You withhold no good thing from us. Pour out Your tender mercies, abundant and overflowing, upon our lives. Bestow Your lovingkindness and truth so that we may be continually preserved in these challenging days. Protect us from deception, guide our hearts to Your Word, and let Your faithful presence be our refuge. May Your mercy touch all who are in need—bringing healing, restoration, and awakening to Your truth. We trust in Your faithfulness, O Lord, and we rest in Your care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Friends, walk in His truth today. Seek His Word, trust His preservation, and may you feel the tender mercies of God surrounding you always. Amen.
