Last week, I began discussing the springs, streams, and rivers of the Holy Spirit that Jesus prophesied would flow continuously in and through those who believe. These waters symbolize an ever-increasing measure of divine power, destined to grow stronger until His return. Additionally, this flow was meant to move through the ekklesia—the New Testament churches—just as it did on the day of Pentecost.

Let’s revisit one of the key passages from last week:

John 7:37 (00:55)

On the final and most significant day of the feast, Jesus stood and proclaimed to the crowd:

“If anyone is thirsty, let them come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Here, Jesus was prophesying about the Holy Spirit, who would later be given to believers. At that moment, the Spirit had not yet been poured out because Jesus had not yet been revealed in His full splendor. However, on Resurrection Day, He was unveiled as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Fifty days later, on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended upon those gathered in the upper room, filling them with power from on high. These were the first believers of the New Testament church.

The Spiritual Significance of Holy Spirit’s Outpouring

Let’s briefly review last week’s discussion and transition into a prophetic teaching I have not shared before. The Apostle Paul emphasized that spiritual matters are discerned spiritually. What I will discuss today requires such discernment—it may seem unfamiliar, yet it aligns with biblical principles and divine revelation.

Holy Spirit’s movements on earth—His outpourings, His power, and His influence in the lives of believers—are often represented in Scripture by various symbols: springs, streams, rivers, wind, wells, fire, and oil. The River of God, a spiritual reality, is unseen by natural eyes but can be experienced, much like the wind. In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit descended as a mighty wind, and believers in the upper room both heard and felt His presence. It was a tangible, life-changing experience that transformed the world.

The River of God and Its Prophetic Meaning

The River of God, which brings joy to His people and refreshes His cities, is illustrated in Ezekiel 47. The prophet saw a vision of a spiritual river flowing from the temple. Initially, the water was ankle-deep, but it steadily rose to knee-deep, then waist-deep, and eventually became a river deep enough to swim in. This vision represents the increasing flow of the Holy Spirit’s power throughout the earth, carrying out God’s purposes.

This divine movement is not symbolic alone—it is a real manifestation of God’s power. The Holy Spirit actively stewards this movement, producing visible and undeniable results. In this current era, the Holy Spirit is leading the most supernatural move of God ever witnessed. He has prophesied for years that His reign will intensify, bringing an unprecedented outpouring that will not diminish but will continually increase. These continuous flows of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus prophesied, will expand in volume and influence.

As we stand in this most supernatural era, the rains of the Holy Spirit are increasing. These divine outpourings will cause the River of God to reach flood stage, fulfilling prophetic words spoken throughout Scripture. The movement of God’s Spirit is accelerating, and those who are prepared will witness His power in greater measure than ever before.
