Courage to Trust Again: Craig Groeschel Daily Devotional – October 21, 2026
If your heart feels stretched thin today, you are not alone. Maybe you are believing God for something that has taken far longer than you expected. Maybe worry keeps circling your mind at night, replaying the what-ifs about your family, your health, your job, or your future. As you read this daily prayer, pause and breathe in this truth: God has not forgotten you. He sees every tear, hears every whispered prayer, and stands closer than your next breath. Today, let this be a sacred moment where you lay down fear and pick up faith again, trusting that your Father is working behind the scenes in ways you cannot yet see.
Anchored by His Unshakable Word
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse calls you to do something both simple and incredibly hard: trust with all your heart, especially when life does not make sense. To “lean not on your own understanding” means you don’t have to have every answer or see every step. Your job is to submit your ways to God—your plans, fears, deadlines, and dreams—and His promise is to straighten the path in front of you. It may not be the path you expected, but it will be the one that leads you closer to His heart and His purpose.
Walking with Hope in the Middle of the Unknown
Faith is not pretending everything is fine. Faith is choosing to believe God is good even when everything is not fine yet. Maybe your inbox is full of pressure, your bank account feels fragile, or your family is navigating tension. In those places, God invites you to stop carrying what you were never designed to hold alone. Today, talk to Him about the exact situation that weighs the most on your heart. Then, take one practical step of trust: forgive someone, send an encouraging text, apply for that new opportunity, or set aside five minutes to worship. Tiny steps of obedience create space for God’s power to move in your everyday life.
Drawing Near in Faith and Spiritual Growth
Father, in the name of Jesus, stir fresh faith in my heart today. Where I have grown weary, awaken a new hunger for Your presence and Your Word. Teach me to recognize Your voice above the noise of my worries. Grow my roots deep in Your truth so that when storms come, I will not be shaken. Help me surrender the illusion of control, and instead cling to Your promises. Strengthen my desire to walk in holiness, to love what You love, and to turn quickly from anything that dulls my passion for You. Draw me closer, refine me gently, and lead me deeper into a real, living relationship with You.
Covering My Home and Relationships in Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Bring peace into our conversations, patience into our frustrations, and tenderness into our disagreements. Heal broken connections and soften hardened hearts. Protect our marriages, strengthen single parents, and comfort the lonely. Let our homes be places where Your presence is felt—where laughter, forgiveness, and grace are freely given. Guard our children and grandchildren, guiding their steps and surrounding them with godly influences. Where there is distance or division, release reconciliation and understanding, so that our relationships reflect Your love.
Believing for Health, Strength, and Healing
Jesus, You are the Great Physician. I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. Where there is sickness, let Your healing power flow. Where there is weakness, renew strength. Calm anxious thoughts and quiet the inner storms that steal my peace. Help me steward my health with wisdom—resting when I need rest, moving when I need movement, and fueling my body with care. For anyone battling long-term illness, pain, or depression, surround them with hope and practical help. Let Your comfort be tangible, and let today carry a fresh reminder that You have not abandoned them in their struggle.
Inviting God into Work, Finances, and Provision
Lord, I invite You into my work and finances. You see the bills, the deadlines, the layoffs, and the hidden stress I rarely mention to anyone. Give me favor with employers, coworkers, and clients. Open doors that no one can shut, and shut doors that are not from You. Grant me wisdom in every decision—how
