Lisa Harper Daily Devotional – October 21, 2026
If your heart feels a little tired today, you are not alone. Life has a way of stacking responsibilities, disappointments, and quiet fears on our shoulders until we wonder if we can carry one more thing. But right here, in this moment, the Holy Spirit is leaning toward you with tenderness, inviting you to breathe, to receive, and to remember that you are deeply loved. This devotional is a gentle pause in your day—a space to let God speak hope over your mind, peace over your emotions, and courage over every unknown you are facing. You are seen. You are not forgotten. And God is already standing in the middle of your tomorrow.
Anchored by a God Who Never Lets Go
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13, NIV) This verse is not just a poetic phrase; it is a picture of God’s nearness. He is not shouting encouragement from a distance. He is close enough to take your hand. That means He is present in the doctor’s office, in the cubicle, in the kitchen, in the late-night worrying. When God says, “Do not fear,” He backs it up with, “I will help you.” Today, you do not walk alone, guess alone, or fight alone. The God who made the heavens holds your right hand and whispers, “I’ve got you. Keep walking.”
Walking Out Faith in the Middle of Real Life
Spiritual growth rarely happens in perfect conditions; it happens in traffic, at work, in PTA meetings, while folding laundry, and in those difficult conversations we would rather avoid. Trusting God today might look like pausing before you react, quietly saying, “Lord, guide my words.” It might mean choosing to forgive one more time, even when your feelings lag behind. It could be turning off the noise for five minutes in the car and simply saying, “Jesus, I need You.” Faith grows as we invite God into the ordinary. When we surrender small moments—frustration, worry, impatience—He shapes our hearts and steadies our steps. You are not failing because you feel weak; you are growing as you keep coming back to Him.
Lord, Deepen My Faith and Steady My Heart
Father, in Jesus’ name, I ask You to deepen my faith today. Where my trust is thin, strengthen it. Where doubts shout loudly, let Your truth speak louder. Remind me that my story is in Your hands and that nothing is wasted when placed at Your feet. Grow my desire for Your Word and prayer. Help me listen for Your voice and respond quickly when You nudge my heart. Teach me to lean into Your promises when I feel overwhelmed, to worship when I am worried, and to remember that You are working even when I cannot see it. Draw me closer to You, and let my faith be rooted not in my performance, but in Your unchanging goodness.
Cover My Home with Peace and Your Presence
Lord, I surrender my family and relationships to You. Step into every room of my home with Your peace. Heal old wounds, soften hardened hearts, and restore what has been broken. Guard our conversations so that words of kindness, truth, and encouragement replace criticism and cold silence. Protect my loved ones today—those near and those far. Let Your presence surround our marriages, parent-child relationships, friendships, and extended family. Where there is distance, create new bridges. Where misunderstanding has taken root, plant fresh understanding and compassion. May our homes become places where Your love is felt, Your name is honored, and Your grace writes a new story.
Hold My Body and Mind in Your Healing Hands
Jesus, You are my Healer. I bring You my body, my mind, and my emotions. You know every ache, every diagnosis, every silent fear. I ask for healing where there is sickness, strength where there is weakness, and restoration where there has been loss. Calm anxious thoughts, quiet racing worries, and steady my emotions when they swing wildly. Help me care for my body as Your temple—with wisdom, discipline, and grace. Surround those I love who are struggling with illness. Let Your comfort be tangible and Your strength be real. Remind me that even while I wait for full healing, You are with me, sustaining me moment by moment.
