The Rise of Confusion About Israel

In today’s world, there are countless voices questioning Israel’s legitimacy. Some say the Jewish people today are not the Jews of the Bible. Others argue that God is finished with Israel and that His covenant no longer applies. Still others say Israel has been replaced by the Church and that modern Jews are simply impostors. These arguments—whether under the label of “replacement theology” or outright antisemitism—seek to break the connection between God’s promises and the Jewish people.

But history, Scripture, and prophecy tell a different story.

The Abrahamic Covenant: Still in Effect

In Genesis 12:3, God gave a timeless promise to Abraham:

“I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you.”

This covenant was not made only with Abraham as an individual but with his descendants—the nation of Israel. Throughout the Bible, God reaffirms this covenant again and again, applying it directly to Israel as a people and as a nation.

Even when Israel turned away from God—under Solomon, in Jeremiah’s time, or under the ungodly Herods in the days of Jesus—the nation never ceased to be Israel. The covenant was never revoked. God’s promises stood firm, regardless of whether the people were obedient or not.

That means today, the Abrahamic covenant still applies to Israel. Bless Israel, and you will be blessed. Curse Israel, and you will be cursed.
