The Power Of Simple Prayer (Full Sermon) | Joseph Prince | Gospel Partner Episode
God Himself wants you close. He desires no separation between you and Him. God declares that you have the right, even the duty, to approach Him boldly. The correct and honorable way to come before God is with confidence. Even in your frustration, approach God openly and honestly. Engaging with God is a living practice—you’re communicating with someone who can truly act on your behalf. Scripture assures us we have the boldness to enter God’s presence through the blood of Jesus. The more frequently and boldly you approach God, the more vibrant your life becomes.
Additionally, do not criticize or penalize churches that embrace God’s healing power. When a church doesn’t preach about Jesus’ healing, they conveniently escape accountability by attributing illnesses to “God’s will” or “His mysterious ways.” However, churches that believe in divine healing and teach God’s desire for everyone’s wellness face scrutiny, especially when some people aren’t healed immediately. It’s important to recognize that we’re all still growing spiritually and haven’t fully realized every promise God has made available. Like the early believers in the book of Acts, there have been moments in history when all were healed, showcasing God’s healing promise under the New Covenant. Even in the Old Testament, when Israelites left Egypt, the Bible records that none were feeble among them.
Don’t blame your pastor for preaching God’s ideal and ultimate standard of health and wellness. It’s far better to strive for complete healing and perhaps achieve significant, though not perfect, results than to expect nothing and easily dismiss unanswered healing questions. We often don’t have all the answers—we aren’t mind readers or fortune tellers. Our assurance is the scripture’s declaration: “He bore our sicknesses and carried our pains, and by His stripes, we are healed.” When someone passes away, remember, ultimate healing occurs when a person goes to be with Jesus. Our tears are due to our temporary separation and personal loss, not for the deceased who have found eternal peace.
This life is temporary; our ultimate hope isn’t the grave but the heavens and Christ’s return. The “third day” promise indicates that God will powerfully fulfill His promises in this season. Stay hopeful and persistent.
When attending healing events, you might notice that some leave unchanged or skeptical. The gospel is preached universally, yet not everyone responds positively. Various reasons exist—lack of belief, hardened hearts, and personal circumstances unknown to us. It’s not always ours to know why some leave this world prematurely. Nevertheless, the fundamental truth remains: God desires your complete well-being and that of your family. Just as you wouldn’t rest if your child were sick, neither does God rest in His desire for your wellness. Any suggestion that suffering is God’s way to increase patience or faith would be dismissed quickly if it concerned your own child. As human parents with imperfections deeply care for their children’s wellness, how much more does our perfect heavenly Father desire our complete healing and well-being.
