The safest place is the will of god. And the point is everything we have is a borrowed gift anyway.
I mean, the only thing we’re keeping is salvation. We’re keeping golf.
Acts 21, Paul is heading for Jerusalem.
It says this, verse 10.
As we were staying there for some days, a prophet named Agabas came down from Judea, and he came to us and took Paul’s belts and bound his own feet in his own hands and said, this is what the Holy Spirit says.
In this way, the Jewish people in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and hand him over to the gentiles.
When we heard this, we as well as as well as the local residents began begging Paul not to go to Jerusalem.
Now Paul had already given his life to god. He was already at this point.
He kept a he was at this point. Verse 13. Then Paul said, why are you doing this?
Weeping and breaking my heart.
For I’m ready, not only to be bound, but even a die in Jerusalem for the name of the lord.
Yes,hua. Jesus. And since he would not be persuaded, we became quiet, saying, the will of the lord be done.
Paul is saying, I’m not afraid. I’m ready to be bound.
I’m ready to die in Jerusalem for the sake of the lord.
Paul was saying, I don’t have anything to hold on to. My life is not mine.
I gave it to the lord. It’s for him.
The only thing I have is to do his will and glorify saying, that’s why I’m on earth, and so that’s why I have no fear at all.
That’s the 0 point of greatness. We live in a world of fear. There’s always been fear.
Some of us can remember in the cold war where there’s a fear of nuclear destruction hanging over everything.
After 911, it’s a fear of terrorism over everything. Now we have it now.
It’s just like a spirit of fear over everything. You know, what’s gonna happen?
COVID, what’s gonna happen with everything in the economy? What’s happening in America? There’s something wrong.
There’s just a spirit of restlessness, an anxiety, spirit of fear.
Why do we fear Fear is based, much of it is on that you have something to lose.
What if I what if this happens? This gets taken. This gets taken. My life gets taken.
My health gets taken. My possessions get taken.
Think of all the fears we have losing our reputation, losing our job, losing our money, losing our ministry, losing our lives.
The enemy uses this, if that’s what you’re holding on to, he will use this to intimidate you as he did in a sense, the Jews of Warsaw, to harass you, hinder you, think you have something to lose until you get to the point where you can say I’ve got nothing to lose.
I don’t care. I gave my life already. You see?
If you are saved today, you gave your life already. So what do you have to lose?
He’s based on an illusion you know, that you have something to lose.
We really don’t see this life is passing away anyway.
For those matter, if someone’s not a Christian, it’s passing away. To this life, we’re losing it anyway.
It gets old, and then you lose it.
The problem is it happens so gradually, you don’t really always think about it. It’s like the frog.
They say you boils in the water and doesn’t fight because it happens so gradually.
Well, it happens so gradually, but, you know, And the thing is we can’t hold on to this life anyway.
God wants us to realize where it is, where it goes now, realize where it’s going.
So See, with the enemy, he’s always trying to use that for your life. He’s an intimidator.
He’s a he’s a he makes bribes. He intimidates. He threatens. He meals.
But if you could if you have nothing that he can use anymore, you’re free.
The Maccabees in the days of Hanukkah were very few.
And and what was happening is the the culture was trying to force them all to bow down to these gods, and people are going along with it.
But finally, got to this point. They got pushed to the point, but he said, that’s it. We don’t care.
Whatever happens happens, but we are gonna fight this.
Even though we’re outnumbered, out manned, out weapon, we got there’s no the odds are there’s no odds here, but we’re gonna fight for god.
We don’t care. We don’t care because there’s nothing where we we’d not if they if our if we die, it’s okay.
But we’re gonna do what’s right. We’re not gonna apostasize. That’s when greatness begins. You look at Moses.
Here’s a guy. He’s eighty years old. In the middle of nowhere.
This is when, you know, most people would have retired before this.
And yet yet, yep, at the beginning of it, when he sees the burning bush, He’s afraid for his life.
He’s afraid if I can’t go back, I can’t do this. I can’t do this.
And finally, he realized I better do it because if, you know, I’m I’m afraid of pharaoh, but I anger god, it’s not good either.
You know, I I got only got saved after almost losing my life twice.
The second time was when I was hit by the train.
And only when I realized that, listen, I can’t even keep my life. That was my point.
I said, I better give my life. I can’t keep it. That’s what led me to Salvation.
You know, if persecution comes and I’m sure it will in different forms, you know, what per risk issue will do is it’ll purify those who stand for god.
You know, it’ll separate. Those who say, I’ve got something to lose and those who say, I don’t care anymore.
I have nothing to lose. I’m following god.
Those who try to hold on, that’s what the enemy can use. They can blackmail you.
They can counsel you. They can threaten you. They can boycott you.
And, you know, all these people apologizing every day because of what the culture is doing.
Well, well, the thing is the people who are gonna stand or the people who are saying, I don’t care.
You know, assessing the book of Revelation, how did they overcome by loving not their lives to death and their testimony?
The share you know, you know, like, there are a lot of you who are afraid of sharing the gospel because you think you can get rejected or it’s gonna call it.
You gotta realize it doesn’t matter because you’ve got another just you have to show the gospel to what?
Your ministry doesn’t, you know, you whatever you have doesn’t belong to you. It’s god’s anyway.
There was a minister who was going bankrupt.
He looked and said, lord, you know, the ministry, you’re all, you know, I’m we can’t make ends.
You know, he’s worried about it. I’ve gotta lose the ministry.
And then he heard the spirit say, how could you lose something that you don’t have?
He said, what did you start out with? Nothing. It’s my ministry.
You know, I’ve been to some dangerous places in the world and some fearful things that it doesn’t mean we are not to take precautions.
God may call you to take precautions Paul did at it, but, ultimately, you cannot Let your life be ruled by fear.
We have this choice to serve god or serve fear.
Zechariah, the the father of John the Baptist, he said, that we may serve god without fear.
If you live in fear, you’re not gonna serve god. If you serve god, you’re gonna overcome fear.
That’s how it goes. When you look at the callings of god’s people, the callings of the prophet, he’s always saying, don’t fear You know, I’ll go go where I send you.
I’ll go with you. Give it because they had challenging callings, you know, and and, you know, the safest place we think you know, you know, the safest place I go if I’m if I do this, I’ll be safe.
The safest place you can be is not but not here, we’re living near New York City.
So you’re already you’re not in the safest place. They’re gonna ever do something.
But the thing is the safest place is the will of god.
You know, you could be an American, have a 1,000,000 you can be a hoarder.
You can be a 1,000,000 things, a prepper, have everything, you know, all that.
And you walk outside and get hit by a truck, and that’s the end of God’s will or your heart stops beating for a second, you know, or stops beating.
You know, the safest place is the will of god.
And the point is everything we have is a borrowed gift anyway.
I mean, the only thing we’re keeping is salvation.
We’re keeping god, but everything else You know, so if he asks, like, what what do you really own in this world?
The answer is nothing. So, therefore, what do you have to lose? Nothing.
The story is told of a of a father who buys his son this brand new car, and it’s all polished and all that.
It’s like, take care of beautiful car, and the father takes out a sledgehammer and fast does a big dent in the front.
And he says, now enjoy it. The point is of He’d be worrying. I gotta lose this thing.
Who he says, you know, don’t even worry about this car. Just have fun.
David ran to Goliath because he realized at that point, I’m just following god.
I’m trusting him, but I’m not gonna live under fear. The the Hebrews were all living under fear.
It’s David saying, we can’t live under fear.
We have to the giant if we perish, we perish, but we’re going, but we’re not gonna live in fear.
We’re gonna live free one way or the other. Hi.
