The Great Gathering – Bishop T.D. Jakes
The Great Gathering: How God Brings Broken Pieces Together for a Powerful Purpose
Welcome to the House of God
Welcome to the house of God. We are so grateful you have joined us today. Your decision to watch this message is not a coincidence. God has a purpose for your life, and He has a word prepared specifically for you.
Whether you are watching from across town or from the other side of the world, you are more than a viewer you are family. Worship is not limited by walls, buildings, or geography. The presence of God can reach you wherever you are.
As we gather together in spirit and truth, prepare your heart to receive what God wants to do in your life. We believe this message has the power to encourage, strengthen, and transform you.
The Power of Unity at Pentecost
In Acts 2:1-7, Scripture describes one of the most significant moments in church history:
“When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all together in one place with one accord.”
The early believers were united. They shared one purpose, one heart, and one expectation. Unity created an atmosphere where God could move in extraordinary ways.
This is why division is such a powerful weapon of the enemy. Satan fears unity because unity releases God’s power. He attacks families, churches, relationships, and communities because he understands the strength that comes when God’s people stand together.
Then suddenly, a mighty rushing wind filled the house where they were gathered.
The disciples did not simply experience God’s presence in a church service. They experienced a divine outpouring that transformed their entire lives.
Many believers today are praying the same prayer:
- Fill my home.
- Fill my family.
- Fill my children and grandchildren.
- Fill my workplace.
- Fill my business.
- Fill every area of my life.
God desires more than occasional blessings. He desires overflow.
Nobody Was Left Out
Acts tells us that tongues of fire appeared and rested upon each believer.
No one was excluded.
No one was overlooked.
Every person present received the gift and power of the Holy Spirit.
The same God who filled them is still filling people today. His power is not reserved for a select few. His Spirit is available to everyone who seeks Him.
God’s Plan Is Togetherness, Not Division
People from every nation gathered in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. They spoke different languages, came from different backgrounds, and represented different cultures.
Yet God brought them together.
The miracle was not simply that people spoke in different languages. The miracle was that people from every nation were united through the power of God.
God’s plan has always been bigger than tribes, ethnicities, denominations, or social groups.
His promise is to pour out His Spirit on all flesh.
To experience God’s greatest purposes, we must move beyond:
- Brokenness into togetherness
- Unforgiveness into forgiveness
- Isolation into connection
God works through divine connections.
Many of the blessings He has prepared for your future will arrive through relationships He places in your life.
The Great Gathering Is Coming
The theme of this message is simple:
There is a great gathering coming.
You may call it revival.
You may call it harvest.
You may call it restoration.
Whatever name you choose, God is preparing a season of gathering.
Things that seemed lost will be restored.
Promises that appeared delayed will begin to manifest.
Dreams that looked impossible will suddenly become reality.
God is preparing a harvest greater than anything you expected.
Pentecost: From Harvest Fields to Human Souls
Many people think Pentecost began in the New Testament, but its roots go much deeper.
Before Pentecost became a spiritual celebration, it was an agricultural feast.
Farmers gathered the first fruits of their harvest and brought them before God with thanksgiving.
At first, Pentecost was about gathering crops.
Then God elevated its meaning.
It became about gathering people.
Jesus revealed this when He said
Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.
God is a gatherer.
He gathers what is scattered.
He restores what is broken.
He unites what has been divided.
He adds where others subtract.
He multiplies where others diminish.
There are blessings, opportunities, relationships, and promises that God is gathering together for your life right now.
God Uses the Cracks
The message highlighted the Japanese art form known as Kintsugi.
Kintsugi is the practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or precious metals. Instead of hiding the cracks, the cracks become part of the beauty.
The damage is not erased.
It is transformed.
This is a powerful picture of God’s work in our lives.
Many people carry scars from:
- Heartbreak
- Disappointment
- Rejection
- Failure
- Loss
Yet God often uses those very cracks to display His glory.
The places where you were broken become the places where His grace shines the brightest.
The pain becomes part of the masterpiece.
What looked ruined becomes beautiful in the hands of God.
