The Biblical Call to Bless Israel, Stand Against Hatred, and Live as a Mature Believer
If the Jewish people have blessed Gentile believers with salvation and the spiritual blessings that come through the Messiah, then it is only right for Gentile believers to bless the Jewish people in return through acts of love, generosity, and support.
In recent years, antisemitism has risen dramatically in America. What was once held by a smaller minority has spread at an alarming pace, especially among younger generations. This is deeply concerning because many of the same voices that reject biblical truth, promote anti-God values, and oppose moral foundations are now also embracing hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people.
This should not surprise us spiritually. Hatred often attaches itself to whatever represents God’s covenant purposes. Throughout history, both the far left and the far right have found reasons to target the Jewish people. One side accuses them of representing tradition and morality, while the other accuses them of promoting change and disruption. In the end, hatred does not need logic. It only needs a target.
Why This Matters Spiritually
This issue is not merely political. It carries spiritual consequences.
If America turns away from Israel, it risks stepping outside the blessing connected to honoring God’s covenant promises. Scripture still declares the principle spoken to Abraham:
Those who bless you will be blessed, and those who curse you will be cursed.
Modern history offers a striking example. The nation that has most consistently blessed Israel has also become one of the most blessed nations on earth: the United States. If that relationship changes, the consequences may also change.
The enemy also seeks division. If believers are separated from Israel, if churches are divided by hatred, and if truth is replaced with deception, revival can be hindered. Division has always been one of the enemy’s oldest weapons.
A Warning to the Church
Some public voices claim to defend Christian values while speaking hatred against Israel and the Jewish people. But hatred can never be the fruit of genuine faith.
You cannot love the King of the Jews and hate the people from whom He came.
Jesus was born Jewish, fulfilled the Hebrew Scriptures, and brought salvation first through Israel and then to the nations. The New Testament does not cancel the Old Testament—it fulfills it. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the same God revealed throughout all Scripture.
To reject the roots of the faith is to misunderstand the faith itself.
Paul’s Example in Acts and Romans
In the Book of Acts, the Apostle Paul was traveling back to Jerusalem with representatives from Gentile churches. Why? He was bringing both encouragement and financial support to the believers in Jerusalem.
In Romans 15, Paul explains the principle clearly: since the Gentiles have shared in the spiritual blessings that came through the Jewish people, they should also serve them in material ways.
This reveals a beautiful biblical pattern:
- Israel blessed the nations with the knowledge of God
- The Messiah came through Israel
- Salvation went out from Jerusalem
- The nations are called to bless Israel in return
It is a circle of covenant love.
The Story of Ruth: A Prophetic Picture
The story of Ruth reflects this mystery beautifully.
Naomi, a Jewish woman, became the source of blessing to Ruth, a Gentile. Through Naomi, Ruth came to know the true God. Later, Ruth became a blessing back to Naomi.
This mirrors God’s greater plan:
- Through Israel, the nations received blessing
- Through redeemed believers from the nations, blessing returns to Israel
- In the end, both are brought together in redemption through the Messiah
Ruth and Boaz point to the greater Redeemer, Jesus Christ, who welcomes all who come to Him.
The Principle of Spiritual Maturity
This message goes beyond Israel. It applies to every area of life.
If you have been blessed, bless others.
If someone gave to you, give in return.
If you have received grace, show grace.
This includes honoring parents, even when they were imperfect. It includes loving people who may never repay you. It includes choosing gratitude over bitterness.
Spiritual maturity is seen when a person stops asking, “What do others owe me?” and begins asking, “How can I bless others?”
Final Encouragement
Now is not the time for believers to join hatred, confusion, or division. Now is the time to walk in truth, love, and courage.
Bless what God has blessed.
Stand for truth without hatred.
Honor your spiritual roots.
Pray for Israel.
Love all people.
And live as one who has truly been blessed by God.
