Counterintuitive Disciplines! Part II – Bishop T.D. Jakes
Counterintuitive Disciplines! Part II
No one is immune to life’s hardships and traumas. The Syrophoenician woman, despite being called a dog by Jesus himself, was undeterred from her mission to see her daughter freed from a demon. Instead, she employed tactical empathy to negotiate with the Lord. How often do we allow ourselves to be distracted from the mission God has given us by hurt feelings or frustrating interactions? We can respond to hardships by sinking into depression, or instead by rooting ourselves in determination! The sun that melts wax can also harden clay.
Let’s go to the gospel of Saint Mark chapter 7 verse 24th to 30.
To those of you that are just joy joining us our subject is counterintuitive disciplines.
Our subtopic, counterintuitive, disciplines. I know that’s an unusual topic counterintuitive discipline.
The discipline to go against what is instinctive or intuitive to your natural habitat by ground upbringing that sometimes in order to experience a move from god, you have to shut off what your natural instinctive proclivities might be.
In order to be eligible to receive from god what he would like for you to have, it is counterintuitive.
It means I have to shut off my mind, my head, my background, my voice, and do something that I’ve never done before, so that I can get something that I never had before.
And our subtitle is if you can get down, you can get up Look at somebody, say I
can get down. Yeah, baby. I can get down. On food with me.
I can get down before you jump on me. Think it over.
I can get down. I don’t mean it that way. I mean it the other way.
I mean it the good way. Not the bad way. Get out of here, Satan.
I mean, it the good way. I’m talking about humility.
Mark 7 24 REITs like this.
Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of tire.
He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it.
Yet he could not, could not, could not, could not, could not keep his presence secret.
God mercy. In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman, she, a woman, no name, she, a woman whose little daughter, a younger woman, was possessed by an impure spirit.
King Jackson’s unclean spirit, came and fell at his feet.
Yeah. The woman the woman’s did not give her name.
The woman was a Greek born in Syrian Phoenicia. K.
She begged Jesus at his feet. She begged Jesus at his feet.
To drive the demon out of her daughter. Two things we know.
We know that she is physiologically a base at his feet.
And if that were not low enough to be a base, she begged.
She begged Jesus at his feet. First, let the children eat all they want. Jesus said.
For it is not right, to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.
Right at the end of him, say, referring to her as a dog, she refers to him as lord.
She replied, even the dogs under the table.
The dogs under the table, eat the children’s crumbs.
Then he told her for such a reply.
If you hadn’t said that you would’ve got it, but for such a reply, Oh, if you say it right then.
Oh, gosh. So I could just stop right there.
Somebody ought to about it. Say, lord, let me say the right thing.
For such a reply, you may go the demon not is going to leave has left your daughter.
Come on, somebody. She went home and found her child lying on the bed.
And the demon was gone.
The child was there, but the demon what’s gone.
Uh, we’re gonna have some fun this morning. Let’s pray.
Spirit the living god for all fresh on us.
As we attempt to unveil the hidden treasures and mysteries of the manifold wisdoms of god hidden within the text allow us to be nimble of thought and agility of mind that you would endow us with the graces that makes it possible to make the abstract concrete, to make the word made flesh, to create images from texts, that permeate our spirit, not to impress us, but to empower us that we might do exploits in your name.
In Jesus’ name, Amen. You may be seated.
Now if you missed the first half of this message, you should go on YouTube I’m not gonna go back and rehearse all of the information and the content that I gave on the first half.
I’m gonna pick it up from the second half. Are you ready to go with me? Yes.
It is important for you to realize that this woman is pushed toward Jesus.
Not so much that she is attracted to him.
But because of the tragedies behind us, It is what she is going from that drives her to Jesus, not what she is going to.
It is not her natural scope to connect with Jesus.
That’s why the Bible does not worry us with the information and the minutia of her name, it tells us much more about her background so that we can contextualize that this is not a natural meeting.
Between a satra Finition woman and a Jewish messiah. It’s not natural. It’s not culturally conducive.
Is conflictive, and yet the christology of the text is stronger than the culture of the text.
What is that war here is culture over Christ or Christ over culture.
So a great deal of emphasis is placed on her background and her pedigree and her reaction.
I’m learning that in life, all we can control, and it takes all of our faith to do this, is our reaction.
We cannot be certain what we will have to face We cannot control the stimuli only the response.
The responses in my control.
I cannot control what you’re going to do next, but I can control how I respond to it.
Truth of the matter is from the very most astonishing astute spiritually endowed individual in here to the person who is embryonic in their theology and elementary in their thinking All of us have issues.
Rich people have issues.
So if you think money is gonna stop you from having calamities, you’re wrong.
Rich people have issues. Poor people have issues. Black people have issues.
White people have issues. Brown people have issues. Americans South Americans, Canadians.
There is no country tribe or group that you can join that exempts you from the shock and the trauma of life.
It happens in our homes, no matter how beautiful they are, no matter how nice they are, whether it is a garage apartment or whether it is a mansion filled with palatial artifacts.
It does not exempt us from having issues in our homes.
And if you escape your home for a season, it’s just a season.
That’s why you ought not to look down your nose at other people’s calamity.
Because life will shut your mouth.
Just because you’re not having trouble with your children or with your parents or with your spouse today doesn’t mean that you won’t And then you’re gonna have to eat all that stuff you said about somebody else.
Life will shut your mouth. If you’re lucky enough in this season not to be having trouble in your home, then you’re having it in your workspace.
And if you’re lucky enough not to have it in your workspace, because you know, let me tell you some of these workspaces today.
You talking about spiritual warfare?
You you you’re talking about attacks of all sorts seen and unseen.
You’re talking about living in a jungle. If you wanna go to the jungle, go to work.
It’s a jungle at work. Even if it’s your business, it’s a jungle at work.
Entrepreneurs, you can own a company and is still a jungle at work.
It’s a jungle at work to survive to maintain, to produce, to deliver the if it’s not with the customers, if it’s not with the client, If it’s not with the clientele, it’s with the staff.
If it’s not with the staff, it’s with the departments. If it’s not with the departments, it’s with the leaders.
It’s always somebody who’s a predator seeking a victim even in the workspace.
And if that were not enough, if you survived the workplace in the house, there is the war in your own, your own self, your own mind that sometimes you stay busy to stay out of your own head.
But sooner or later, when you lay down at night, both voices.
Anybody lay down at night with voices in your head? And I’m not even talking about schizophrenia.
I’m not gonna give a diagnosis on it.
But but you got all of these different voices in your head, making you doubt yourself, making you overthink yourself, making you question yourself.
Making you angry about things, making you intimidated by things, making you fearful about things, and for us to get out of the bed in the morning takes courage, because we have to fight our way out of the bed in in the morning.
Can I get an amen? And the worst part about the fight is nobody gets to pick their opponent.
Nobody gets to choose. You know, I I wanna work. I wanna wrestle within security.
I wanna I wanna re that that’s what I pick. I pick in security. I pick intimidation.
I I I pick, uh, being a a a controlled person, uh, what we call a alpha male, alpha woman and which, by the way, is not necessarily a sign of strength can be a sign of weakness because you only feel safe when you’re in control.
And you don’t have enough strength to let go of the wheel.
And and so you camouflage your insecurity with this false sense of power that you need to validate a secret insecurity that is cannibalizing all your cisions and choices in life.
No one gets to pick what they’re fighting with.
If I could pick my opponent I would pick something, you know, I don’t know what I would pick, but I would pick something that was easy and nice and simple and and publicly acceptable.
But most of us wrestle with demons we can’t talk about.
Most of us wrestle with demons that we can’t trust even with close associates.
Most of us wrestle with demons that we can’t even trust with our own family members.
We don’t even talk to ourselves about some of the things that drive us, provoke us, intimidate us, worry us, upset us this woman had a demon in her house.
She had a demon in her house. Now it’s bad to have one at work.
But but you leave work.
When you got one in your house, Now I’m a date myself when I say this when you are sleeping with the enemy.
All the people under 40 look confused.
They don’t know what I’m talking about. Yeah. Yeah. That’s alright.
Ask your mama when you get it’s a movie, sleeping with the enemy.
When when when when when when when the demon is in your when you are related This woman’s dilemma is complicated because on one hand, she is clearly against the demon, but the demon has got her daughter.
And she is clearly for her daughter.
What do you do when you have to fight against what you are against in what you are for?
This is the oldest, most primitive, uh, approach that the enemy has used all the way back to the Garden of Eden is to take what you hate and put it in what you love goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden.
And he’s still doing it today, and he’s still doing it in your life.
And whether you want to admit it or not, if you got conflict in here, you have conflict because of the the direct correlation between what you hate and what you love.
I I am not conflicted by people I don’t care about.
I don’t care what you think.
I get some ticket when they
get on my social media and say, I’m on follow you. Think so.
You know, is that gonna give me cardiac arrest or something for you unfollow me?
We’ll we’ll we’ll will I go into foreclosure if you have a I’m going I tell you what I’m going to do.
I’m brother Dicks. I’m going to unfo unfollow back. Please unfollow me.
I’ll tell you what I’ll make it easier. I’ll block you.
Yeah.
Let me help you through this process. We can make the decision for you.
I will hate I will make the decision for you. Bye.
But this woman could not say goodbye to the demon because he had her daughter.
You have not lived till a demon is after someone you love.
This is a car crash of cataclysmic proportions.
Biblical proportion trauma has happened because I can’t stop loving who I love, and I can’t stop hating what I hate.
This spirit of desperation drives this woman. And makes her determined.
And it’s it’s funny now. I want you watching me closely because I’m laying groundwork here.
How she reacts to the trauma tells you a lot about her.
She could not afford to allow herself to get depressed.
Some of us, we all face the same thing, but we don’t all react the same way.
Some of us shrink from it and go into a state of depression as if this catoptonic state of depression would immunize you from the effects of the pain.
She doesn’t have time to be depressed.
Because the time she’s wasting on depression could cause her daughter, her life.
So she makes Instead of making
the decision
I won’t even talk about desperate because I did that last time, and you need to get the desperate thing.
Because there you until you understand desperate, you will understand the way we wash it.
Cute people don’t worship like desperate people.
Cute people are more worried about their mascara.
But when you get desperate, you will mess up your whole When you get desperate, you don’t care about your edges.
You don’t care about your curls. Coming. When you get desperate, you don’t care that your tie’s crooked.
You don’t care if you don’t have all the tie. You don’t care if you come out of your shoes.
Have you ever had a problem that made you desperate and radical for Jesus?
I mean radical for Jesus I mean, uncouth for g. You don’t care if you own key or altitude.
You don’t care whether the band can pick you up or not because you are desperate.
There are some desperate people in this house right now. There are some determined people in this house right now.
You don’t get up in the morning at 6 o’clock in the morning. Jump in the shower at 6:45.
Get out in traffic on a Sunday.
If you’re not a desperate person, All the desperate, determined people make some noise in this house.
She couldn’t afford to allow the
feeling of rejection to deter her need of a miracle.
She couldn’t afford to walk off from Jesus and say, how dare you call me a dog?
She couldn’t afford because if she walked off from Jesus, she was walking off from her child.
This was our last resort.
Call me a dog.
Call me whatever you want to but please call me because I need a breakthrough.
I can’t afford to be sensitive. All of you sensitive people, you’re not desperate.
Because when you really get desperate, you out roll your ad.
Rule your ass at me and see if I care. I got some real stuff to deal with.
I got a real Devil to fight. I don’t care how you look at me. You’re not speaking to me.
Don’t mean.
She could not afford to allow the feeling of rejection to deter her need of a miracle It’s amazing how some people allow the attack to destroy them.
While others use the attack to determine them.
You either get bitter or you get better.
You either rise up, or you shrink down.
This woman had a decision to make. She couldn’t pick her devil, but she could choose her reaction.
And sooner or later, you get tired of the enemy pushing you around. Sooner or
later, you get tired of people saying whatever they wanna say, and you can’t say nothing back.
Sooner later, you get tired of missing your blessing while you talk yourself out of the best life you ever had.
In your life, allowing your fear to drive your future sooner or later.
You said, I’d rather fight my fear, then lose my future sooner or later you make up in your mind.
Come on. Come on up in here.
Come What is it that makes some people shrink away, hide in obscurity
Mount into the canvas of ordinary rather than to confront the possibility of what they could be what they should be.
Everybody in here has to make this choice all the time.
Do I hide
or do I fight?
Yeah. Do I run? Or do I stand? Do I
give up or do I give it everything I got This is a daily decision.
And yet, What amazes me though we all are exposed to the same stimuli?
We don’t always have the same response. I mean, even believers.
I mean, even Christians. This isn’t just spiritual.
There are a lot of things that come to play in how you respond.
Your background. Your family, your history, all contribute to how you respond when there’s a devil in your house.
What was modeled in front of you? Yes. How your mama responded?
How your daddy responded, how your grandma responded, teaches us how to respond.
The best thing you can teach your children is not calculus
It’s how to react to trouble.
Even if the trouble is coming from in your own head,
how do you react?
That’s what I wanna see in you.
How you react? That’s what tells me what you’re made of.
Not your Gucci bag,
not your Saint Laurent purse, not your red bottom shoes, That doesn’t tell me anything about how you react.
That doesn’t tell me anything about how you react. That stay with me.
Stay with me. That doesn’t tell me anything about how you react your Porsche your Bentley doesn’t tell me jack about what I got when I got you.
In fact, it may only be the disguise.
Your biceps, your triceps, your muscles, your functions, all of
that stuff. That’s good. That’s wonderful. I ain’t hating on you. I got them.
They fell, but they hear Yeah.
They every time, but they hear glory to god. That’s not the point.
But often we hide with superficial power to hide internal deep insecurity.
Gone by you some new hips.
Never thought I lived to the day. Do you know?
I shouldn’t go further. Should I know?
We had department stores, but they didn’t sell I see these folk one day that come in here, the pants all sunk in in the back, like, in case And then 2 weeks later, they come in and look like 2 bears fighting in the wood,
I think. Ain’t that much working. I ain’t many squats in the world, baby. No. No.
No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
Come on. I detect no lies.
I ain’t hate going there.
If you bought you some some some lips or something,
I’m not hating on you.
I’m just telling you that new lips
changing the color of your eyes changing the girth of your hips or your whatever you decide to change
will not necessarily make you stronger.
In how you react to a problem, you can’t implant stress Come on with me.
Bring it right down front. I’ve got something for you.
What is it that we all face the same stuff, but we react completely differently?
I can only conclude that the same sun that hardens the clay
melts the wax.
The same sun, depending on the material of what it hits.
Either mouth shoot or a hardened shoot.
Look at somebody and say, show me what you’re working with.
You can’t stop the sun from hitting you, but show me what you’re working with.
Show me what you’re working with. Is there any fight up under that dress?
Is there any fight up under the plan?
Is there any is there any determination that come to hell or high water?
Debbie, you can’t have my house, Deborah, you can’t have my child, Deborah, you can’t have my son, Deborah, you can’t have my marriage, Double, you can’t have my money.
No. No. You can’t have. Slap somebody and tell me
he got the wrong one this time.
Make some noise if I’m talking
to you. Make some noise if I’m coming down your street.
Make some noise that God is talking to you about how to deal with the trouble of your face right now Make some noise if you’re getting tools to fight the devil that’s after your house, after your mind, after your resources, after your stuff.
Touching them and tell them I’m determined.
You’re cute, but I’m determined. You’re fancy, but I’m determined. You’re educated, but I’m determined.
Your train, but I’m determined. You’re gorgeous, but I’m terminate.
And if you black me in a corner, if I have to crawl the Jesus,
if I have to
slide, together if I could get all my needs.
Y’all sit down because I feel like something’s
about to happen in here this morning. Something’s about to happen in here this morning.
Something’s about to happen in here this morning. Something’s about to happen in here this morning.
Something’s about to happen in here this morning. Something about to happen in here this morning.
Somebody who was melted up under the sun didn’t recognize that
you got a choice. You either melt or you get hard.
You you either melt or you man up, you either melt or you stand up You only got 2 choices.
Let me go further.
What I love about this woman is that she didn’t have time to get in her feelings.
He called her dog and she stepped right over it and kept right on talking.
Yeah. But what you gonna
do about my daughter, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Somebody out of bock up in here.
When you hear me barking, that means I’m gonna get what I’m after.
When you hear me start barking, you can’t run me away because you don’t like me.
When you see me boxing, you messing with the wrong man.
Let me give you just a little bit more, and then I’m a call because I’m a I’m a I’m a I’m a wrap this up.
Because it’s gonna turn into part 3 if I don’t hear.
So now, you know, make me
more crazier than you did.
I did wear my collar this morning. Right?
I’m about to break my chain up in your print.
Let me give my composer We got company.
I gotta be intelligent. So I was reading a book by Chris Voss called never split the difference.
The book is called never split the differences by Chris boss.
Who is a master negotiator that is designed to negotiate in terroristic situations where they bring him in trained by the FBI to negotiate the release of captives.
And what occurred to me. And I was reading never split the difference.
Is that what I am witnessing in the text is the woman is a negotiator The demon is a terrorist, and she’s trying to negotiate a release.
Somebody
say release.
So Chris Voss coined the phrase called tactical empathy.
Tactical empathy implies that you have developed the art of listening and acknowledging the other person’s feelings and needs, and using this understanding of their humanity and perspective, you build a rapport.
With the person you’re negotiating with and trust tactical empathy.
Allows you to connect with the other party and effectively navigate through conflicts or negotiate for positive outcomes, increasing the likelihood of a successful resolution.
Are you hearing what I’m saying? Yes.
So in the book, he talks about how he negotiates for terrorists, and he talks about how they brought him to Yale where the professionally trained negotiators put their methodology against his and he is always worn because he used tactical empathy.
But but but go on and talk about everything is negotiation.
Married is negotiation. Businesses negotiation. Winning souls is negotiation.
I’m negotiating with the terrorists to let them go.
I’m always when Moses goes down to Ferro, he’s negotiating with Ferro. God said, let my people go.
That’s that’s negotiation for terrorists.
When when god, the voice of the lord walked through the pool of the garden and covered the skins of Adam, well, with the innocent animal, he was negotiating with Satan.
The book of redemption is about the book of negotiation. Are you following me?
Here, what I’m saying to you, this is negotiation at its finest This woman, all the times I saw her before I saw her as a woman, I saw her as a mother, I didn’t see her as a negotiator.
This is one of the few times, if not the only time, in scripture that I can recall where somebody negotiated with Jesus.
And changed.
Now, you know you’re bad when
you can negotiate with Jesus. And he’s not thinking about her.
He’s hiding in the house because he didn’t wanna even do anything in this region.
She finds him hidden in the house
and negotiates the
release of her daughter from the captivity of a demon.
By the power of tactical empathy.
So if you’re gonna use tactical empathy, you cannot afford to get mad when he calls you a dog.
In fact, in the King Jane version, she said, truth, lord.
I am a dog.
Now can can I can I can I can I can I can I can I kinda kinda go deeper because I feel like going a little deeper?
I wanna go a little deeper because this is gonna change somebody’s life.
It’s gonna determine whether you get a position. It’s gonna determine whether you get your daughter back.
It’s gonna determine what happens in your marriage. It’s gonna determine your prayer life.
It’s gonna determine how you talk to god. It’s gonna change everything because you’re so busy defending your perspective.
You never use tactical empathy to the detriment of every relationship in your life because you can never see it from the other person’s side.
And as long as they feel unheard, they feel disrespected.
And as long as they feel disrespected, you’re going to win the battle and lose the war.
You are trying to prove I’m just as tough as
you are. What good is it to outtuff them?
If you lose the victim, can I go deeper? Yeah.
And the Bible Jesus references the Sarah Furniture Woman as a dog.
It can be found in March 7 24, for those of you that are taking notes, 7 24 through 30, as well as the gospel of Saint Matthew in chapter 15 verse 21 through 28.
That incident occurs when the woman, a gentile, approaches Jesus begging for help to heal her demon possessed daughter.
Jesus responds negatively, not affirmatively.
He refers to her as a dog and it can be seen as an expression of the cultural attitudes prevalent in Jesus’ time toward her people.
You also see it with the woman at the well when she talks about you know, my people have no dealings with your people.
So culturalism and christology has been at war even to today.
This is not new.
Not to mention misogynistic overtones, meaning to break it down.
She’s a woman. She’s a woman. She’s a woman.
Y’all don’t get it because y’all grew up at a time that now being a woman is a plus.
But the text takes place at a time that they don’t even give us her name.
They tell us she’s a woman.
She’s a woman and a gentile woman is that.
Dogs in Jesus Day were considered unclean by Jewish law. They were like rats.
And were associated with gentiles. And to call a gentile adult was as derogatory
Come on.
I’m a bring it home. I’m a bring it
home because I want you to feel what she had to climb over to get a breakthrough.
She couldn’t flip out
and said, who are you calling? A doll?
Because her daughter was held captive.
Sometimes your anger is your enemy because you cannot negotiate a settlement while you’re being personally insulted, you gotta decide what’s most important to you I gotta go on.
Furthermore, Jesus’ primary mission during his earthly ministry was focused on Jewish people.
And he emphasized it in the text by saying, I, uh, I was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel.
I’m not even sent to you, so she keep negotiating.
Though I’m in perseveres, shows great faith by responding to Jesus, not trading insults.
But she got down.
And she responds to him with humility. She said, yeah, lord.
I got that about the dog stuff.
And she turns the negative into a plus She takes what he said to her and uses it in an illustration to get what she’s after.
She shows him the advantage Come on here with me.
She said, yes. What what what what sounds like a disadvantage in your mouth is an advantage in my mouth.
She said, because there are some benefits
to be an adult.
So since I’m an adult, I got
nothing to lose. Since I’m a doll, I don’t have to worry about impressing you.
Since I’m a doll, you understand that I can respond to you in an expected way while you go ahead with your children.
She said, even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from your from the master’s table.
Are you with me? And Jesus is blown away.
I wonder what god wants you to negotiate. That’s got you here this morning.
They got you online that’s got you listening at me right now.
What have you accepted that you could alter if you negotiated from a different perspective.
Jesus is shocked at the faith in the woman who is a Shintai.
And he praises her. Ultimately, granting her request and healing her daughter.
And ain’t that all that matters? I said, hey. Did all that matters?
I’m a go a little bit deeper and I’m a close. I’m doing good. I’m doing good.
I got time. Oh my god. That’s like saying.
Sick them to a dog. Why don’t you do that?
This encounter highlights Jesus inclusiveness and willingness to extend his blessings beyond Jewish boundaries.
Showing that salvation and grace are not limited to a specific ethnic group or religious group.
Don’t let anybody convince you that they own your salvation.
Don’t let anybody convince you because they don’t agree with you that you are not saying.
Don’t let anybody plead back to you and tell you you’re going to hell because they don’t own it.
And they don’t own you. And all they own is an opinion.
And rather than to argue with them, about something they don’t own in the first place.
What I’m getting at is that this woman teaches us something about humility, faith, and the power a persistent prayer.
She negotiates a change because she allowed what happened to her to knock her to a knees.
It knocked her to her knees. Can I go back just for a minute?
And then I’m gonna
go forward, and then I’m gonna get out and eat some chicken in that order.
I’m a go back. I’m a go forward. I’m a go home. Go back. Go forward.
Go home.
When the Bible emphasizes so much her ethnicity, it is letting you know that this is a cultural war.
She is a thorough phoenician woman, what is now Syria and Phoenicia, Syria was the name given to a particular part and sect of the Roman Empire.
It was a Roman province, actually.
That included the present day Syria, Lebanon, and Turkey, and Israel.
Later merging with Judea, to become Syria Palestinian. Watch this.
Fidicians were an ancient, semantic people.
Related to the biblical canaanites who inhabited city states throughout the Mediterranean.
One of the population centers was tire, which was a population center because it is a coastal city.
And because it is a coastal city, even in this present day, Lebanon, about twelve miles north of the borders, of Israel.
What I’m trying to show you is that their cultures had history.
So she’s related to the canaanites.
They’re on the border of coastal region where all the imports come in.
Doesn’t it make sense that all the imports would come in to the finicians? Come on.
Even high school students remember that the finicians were known for building ships.
So in order for Israel to get products, they had to deal with the finishers, but they didn’t like the finitions.
Because they had been fighting with the finishers all the way back to Jezebel, who was a finisher.
And you will remember that Jezebel Worship a god called Belle, who was a male version of the female goddess, Astrooff.
So they were semitic ancestrally, but spiritually, they couldn’t be any more different.
So while Israel was worshiping Geneva, they were worshiping bail.
So when Jezebel marries a half, she brings the 450 profits Come on.
From bail over into Israel, which caused Elijah, to call fire down from heaven.
And he took a sword and killed all the prophets of Bell this woman had history.
And all of that is playing into the negotiation.
All of that is why Jesus is hiding in the house because he doesn’t really want to give a miracle to some people who have never considered him or his father or his ancestory or his people, and there have been nothing but cause trouble.
And Jesus, since he’s going through the region, is hiding in the house, but his glory could not be hidden.
So I’m gonna move along.
This woman has 3 strikes a dancer. Number 1, she’s a woman.
Number 2, she’s a gentile. Number 3, she’s a foreigner, rid rendering her tripling marginalized.
I want you to see what all she had to climb over to get to Jesus.
He’s another god. He’s another culture.
We have history, and he’s a man.
And when she encounters Jesus, rather than debating Jesus, rather than being insulted by Jesus, she doesn’t just come in the room.
She falls at its feet.
Your pride is stopping you from
getting this miracle. Your pride is stopping
you from getting this miracle.
Look at somebody saying, if you can get down,
You can get
up. If you can stop getting the last word in, if you can stop arguing back with everybody, If you can make up in your mind that what you’re after is more important than how you feel.
If you can make up in your mind that you don’t care what you look like, You don’t care what people say about you.
You don’t care what they think about you.
All you want is a breakthrough from god God will give you a breakthrough right now.
Who am I talking to in the house?
Touch three people and tell them I want it.
I want it real bad. I want it bad enough to get that.
I wanted bad enough to step over being shy. I step over being shy.
I step over being insecure. I step up with being the only one in the road.
Whatever I gotta do to get a breakthrough.
I want a breakthrough from the body in here up there over there over there or online who wants a breakthrough from the lord.
Look at your neighbor and say, this is a get down Sunday.
If you get down, you can get up.
If you get down, you can get up again.
You can get your fight back again. You can get your courage back again.
You can get your identity back again. Touch your neighbors say excuse me. I gotta get done.
I know I’m surrounded by all these nicely, nice, cute church people, but I’m a get down woman.
I’m a get down kinda guy. I don’t care what nobody thinks about me.
I’ll come out of my coat. I’ll come out of my image.
I gotta get a break through from the lord. Somebody give me 30 seconds of crazy points.
Crazy place.
No. I said, praise it, please. Praise it like you can get down.
Crazy it like you watch up from the lord. Prazing like you mean business.
Prazing like you got a devil to fight.
Prazing like you got a score in a settle, praising like you wanna rebuke cancer, praising like you wanna heal it in your body, you got 10 seconds left To find
and get his business card.
I got to get to his feet. Uh, I need a touch from the lord.
Uh, somebody opened your mouth and shower I can’t hear you.
I’m not talking to the church folk.
I’m just talking to the adults to check folk can go home.
This is a doggy message, Chuck. I wanna talk to people who are sick of
the devil. Open your mouth and shout on the top.
See, let me show you something.
This woman levels an indictment against the children of god. Against the children of Israel.
She said go ahead and give them the lows. Because your children are entitled anyway.
They’ve had you so long that they don’t appreciate what they got.
And my problem with most church folk is that you’re so used
to the anointing. You’re so knowledgeable about the anointing. You got so many opinions
that you lost your hunger. And that’s why I like to preach to the dogs.
Are there any talks in the house? Hallelujah Bank some noise.
This woman says your children have always had you, and I’m not asking for their bread.
I don’t even need their bread. I could live off of what your children waste.
And the truth of the matter is the church is so used to the anointing that you can be in the presence of god
and cross your legs and
be cute. You don’t need nothing from the lord, but there are few thousand desperate people in this that know how to get down and get a touch from the lord where I my desperate people.
You didn’t come to show off your shoes. You didn’t come to be important.
You don’t care where you said, you just need a touch from god.
I want you to take all the
