The Mystery Of Rome In The End Times

Jonathan Cahn unearths the Mystery of a Resurrected Roman State in the End Times.

The Book of Revelation reveals a startling prophecy: in the end times, many will worship demons—whether they realize it or not. This shift isn’t just about rejecting Christianity; it’s about turning toward paganism. As society drifts away from the truth of God, we are witnessing a spiritual vacuum that is being filled with darkness.

In the visions of Revelation, we see the rise of a beast with ten horns—echoing Daniel’s prophecies—symbolizing a global empire. One horn rises above the others, a sign of a final world power rooted in the spirit of ancient Rome. Historically, the Roman Empire spanned the Mediterranean and Western Europe, regions that now form the foundation of today’s European Union.

Interestingly, the EU was born in 1948—the same year as the rebirth of Israel. Its formation began through the Treaty of Rome, and since then, Europe has grown increasingly anti-Christian and secular. In recent years, we’ve seen efforts in major cities like Paris to pressure member nations into policies that stand in direct opposition to biblical values. Is this the foundation of a one-world government, echoing a resurrected Roman Empire? Only time will tell.

Revelation also speaks of the “kings of the East.” It describes a time when four angels bound at the Euphrates will be released, leading to the death of a third of mankind. The prophecy speaks of an army of 200 million. For centuries, this number seemed impossible—until now. Today, one nation in the East claims it can raise such an army: China. A nation on the rise, with aspirations for global dominance, and tensions with America. Could this be the fulfillment of end-time prophecy?

Revelation 18:23 speaks of Babylon’s downfall, declaring, “By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.” Revelation 9:20 echoes this: “They did not stop worshiping demons… nor their magic arts.” These “magic arts” refer to sorcery, the occult, and even witchcraft. In Greek, the word used is pharmakeia, from which we get “pharmacy”—implying drug use as part of spiritual deception.

Our generation is now witnessing a massive revival of paganism and the occult. Many are turning away from organized religion, yet seeking “spirituality” through dangerous paths. America now has more witches than Presbyterians. Our culture glorifies witchcraft—seen in everything from children’s books to entertainment. A generation has been raised on magic and spells, often unaware of the spiritual forces behind them.
