Living Above the Storm: Joel Osteen Daily Devotional – October 23, 2026

If you woke up today carrying a quiet heaviness—questions about the future, concerns about your family, or worries about finances—you are not alone. God sees you right where you are, and He has not brought you this far to leave you. This moment, right now, can become a turning point where fear gives way to faith and anxiety yields to trust. As you pause with this devotional, imagine the Lord gently lifting your chin, saying, “Look up. I’m still in control. I’m still working for your good.” Today is an invitation to rise above the storm and lean into the God who is greater than every challenge you face.

Anchored in Promise

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7, NKJV) This simple verse carries a powerful, practical truth for your day. Walking by sight means being driven by what you see: the bills, the medical report, the strained relationship, the headlines. Walking by faith means choosing to believe what God has spoken over you, even when your circumstances haven’t caught up yet. Faith doesn’t deny reality; it declares that God’s Word is a higher reality. When you decide, “Lord, I trust You even when I don’t understand,” heaven moves on your behalf. Your job is not to figure everything out. Your job is to stay in agreement with God’s promises.

Faith for Ordinary Moments

Sometimes we think faith is only for dramatic miracles or life-altering decisions, but most of our spiritual growth happens in ordinary moments: the commute to work, the afternoon lull, the quiet evening at home. Today, choose faith in the small things. When a negative thought rises, answer it with God’s Word. When you feel overlooked, remind yourself, “My Father sees me, and His timing is perfect.” When others complain, let gratitude rise from your heart. The more you practice trusting God in the everyday, the more natural it becomes to trust Him in the storm. Let your home, your car, even your workspace become a place where faith-filled words replace worry-filled conversations. Little by little, your inner atmosphere shifts, and peace begins to rule where anxiety used to live.

Drawing Near in Trust

Father, today I bring You my faith, even when it feels small. I choose to trust Your heart when I cannot trace Your hand. I ask You to deepen my roots in Your Word so I am not tossed around by fear, doubt, or discouragement. Teach me to listen for Your voice through Scripture and the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit. Restore my hunger to seek You early, to pause and pray throughout the day, and to end each night with gratitude. Grow me beyond surface-level belief into a steady, enduring trust that stands firm in difficulty. Shape my thoughts so they align with Your truth. Renew my mind so I see myself and my future the way You see them. Let my life be a testimony that You are faithful, that You finish what You start, and that those who put their hope in You are never disappointed.

Grace Over Our Homes

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You right now. Cover our homes with Your peace. Where there is tension, bring understanding; where there is distance, restore connection; where there is hurt, pour out healing. Help us to speak life over one another and not criticism. Give us patience with our children, wisdom in our marriages, and grace in every conversation. Protect our families from division, misunderstanding, and the enemy’s lies. Let our homes be places of laughter, forgiveness, safety, and joy. For loved ones who are far from You, I ask that You gently draw their hearts back. Surround them with people who reflect Your love. Today, I declare by faith that as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord and experience His goodness.

Healing for Body and Soul

Heavenly Father, You are my Healer and the strength of my life. I bring my body, mind, and emotions before You. Where there is sickness, I ask for Your healing touch. Where there is chronic pain or long-term diagnosis, speak life, restoration, and comfort. Strengthen immune systems, restore energy, and renew mobility. For emotional burdens—anxiety, depression, grief, trauma—breathe Your peace into every wounded place. Silence the voice of fear and shame. Replace heaviness with a garment of praise. Teach me to care for my body as Your temple, to rest when I need
