Craig Groeschel Daily Devotional – October 23, 2026
If your heart feels a little tired today, you are not alone. Maybe you are carrying quiet worries about your family, your health, your job, or your future. Maybe you love Jesus but still wrestle with fear and “what ifs” in the middle of the night. Today, God invites you to breathe again, to remember that you are not holding your life together by yourself. The same God who spoke galaxies into existence is holding you, right now, in His faithful hands. As you lean into this devotional, let these words draw you closer to the One who sees you, knows you, and refuses to let you go.
Anchored by a Promise
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse reminds us that faith is not about having everything figured out; it is about choosing to lean on God when nothing makes sense. Your understanding is limited, but God’s wisdom is limitless. When you surrender your plans, fears, and deadlines to Him, He promises to lead you. The path may not always be easy, but it will be guided. Today, God calls you to release your tight grip on control and trust that His heart toward you is good.
Trusting God in the Middle of the Mess
Life rarely looks as neat as our prayers. Sometimes we obey God and still face hardship. Yet it is often in the mess—when the budget doesn’t balance, when the doctor’s report is unclear, when relationships feel fragile—that our faith grows deeper roots. Trusting God does not mean you never feel afraid; it means that when fear whispers, you answer with faith. You open your Bible instead of scrolling endlessly. You worship instead of worrying. You speak God’s promises over your situation instead of rehearsing your fears. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you take one small step of faith: a hard conversation you need to have, a generous gift you’re nervous to give, or a new habit that draws you closer to Jesus. Spiritual growth happens one surrendered moment at a time.
Strengthening Your Heart in Faith
Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith before You. I admit where I doubt, where I question, where I hesitate to trust. I don’t want a shallow faith that only stands when life is easy. I want a faith anchored in Your character. Grow in me a deeper hunger for Your Word. Teach me to recognize Your voice above the noise of this world. When I’m tempted to give up, remind me that You never give up on me. Replace my anxious thoughts with Your truth. Help me walk by faith, not by sight, believing that You are working even when I cannot see it. Let my life reflect Your love, Your peace, and Your strength to everyone around me.
Covering Our Homes with Peace
Lord Jesus, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our home with Your presence. Heal places of tension, misunderstanding, and hurt. Where there has been distance, restore connection. Where there has been silence, bring gentle, honest conversation. Protect our marriages, our children, our parents, and every relationship that matters to us. Teach us to forgive quickly and love generously. Let our home be a refuge, not just from the world, but a place where Your Spirit is welcome. May laughter, unity, and patience grow within our walls. Guard our hearts from bitterness and offense, and knit us together in Your love.
Healing for Body, Mind, and Soul
Lord, I bring my health before You—every ache, every diagnosis, every hidden anxiety. You are Jehovah Rapha, my Healer. Strengthen my body, renew my mind, and calm my emotions. For areas where I feel weak, be my strength. For chronic pain or ongoing struggles, pour out Your mercy and relief. Lead me to wise decisions about rest, nutrition, and care. Heal old emotional wounds, traumatic memories, and unspoken grief. Let Your peace settle over me like a blanket. Remind me that even in sickness, I am not abandoned. My body may feel fragile, but my spirit is secure in You.
Inviting God into Work and Finances
God, I surrender my work, career, and finances into Your hands. You see the deadlines, the pressure, the uncertainty, and the expectations I carry
