Jentezen Franklin Daily Devotional – October 22, 2026: Standing Strong in the Waiting
If you are reading this today with a tired heart, wondering when God will move, this devotional is for you. Maybe you have prayed, fasted, believed, and yet some doors still feel stuck shut. You love Jesus, but you’re weary. On this October 22, 2026, be reminded: God has not forgotten you. Delays are not denials, and your Father is working in ways you cannot see. He specializes in showing up right on time, often when you feel you have nothing left. Lean in for a moment, let your heart breathe, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak fresh hope over your life.
Anchored by a Promise
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV) This verse is not just poetic language; it is a covenant promise. Waiting on the Lord is not passive; it is active trust. Just as an eagle rises above storm winds, God wants to lift you above fear, anxiety, and discouragement. When you choose to wait on Him—worshiping instead of worrying, praying instead of panicking—He promises supernatural strength for your spirit, mind, and body.
Living with Hope in the Middle of Uncertainty
Everywhere you look in our nation, there seems to be shaking—economically, politically, morally. Yet God has not called you to live in fear of the future. He has called you to shine in it. Today, invite the Lord into ordinary moments: your morning commute, your lunch break, your quiet minutes before bed. Ask Him, “Lord, what are You doing in my life today, and how can I join You?” Refuse to rehearse your worries. Instead, rehearse His faithfulness. Keep a small notebook or note on your phone and record one way God shows up each day. Over time you will see a trail of grace, proof that He has been with you every step of the way.
Strengthening Faith and Trust in the Waiting
Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith before You today. Some days it feels strong, other days it feels fragile—but I place it in Your hands. Teach me to wait on You with expectation, not resignation. Show me how to open my Bible with a hungry heart, how to listen for Your whisper in the noise of my day, and how to trust You when I don’t understand the timing. Grow my spiritual roots deep, so that when the winds of life blow, I will not be uprooted. Holy Spirit, help me surrender my timeline, my need to control, and my fear of the unknown. I choose to believe that Your plans for me are good, that You are for me and not against me, and that You are working all things together for my good and Your glory.
Covering Our Homes with Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You right now. You see every strained marriage, every prodigal child, every unspoken tension around the dinner table. Step into our homes with Your peace. Heal misunderstandings, soften hardened hearts, and restore broken trust. Let forgiveness flow freely in our relationships. Surround our households with Your presence—let our homes be places of prayer, laughter, and unity. Give parents wisdom, children tenderness, and spouses a fresh love that reflects Christ and the church. Where there is loneliness, bring godly community. Where there is conflict, release Your shalom, Your deep, settling peace.
Health, Healing, and Emotional Wholeness
Jesus, You are the Great Physician. I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. For every reader facing sickness, chronic pain, or frightening diagnoses, I ask for Your healing touch. Guide doctors and medical teams, and fill them with wisdom. Strengthen immune systems, restore energy, and breathe life into weary bones. For those battling anxiety, depression, or emotional trauma, wrap them in Your love. Replace tormenting thoughts with the truth of Your Word. Let them sense Your nearness in the night watches. Restore sleep, renew joy, and break every chain of fear. Remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and help us honor You through rest, wise choices, and gratitude.
