So now we’ve got a scenario.
We’ve got both government and business increasingly warring against the ways of god together.
That doesn’t bode well for believers, at least in the natural, but it matches end time prophecy.
immorality shall increase. But the cool thing is that that’s what Paul is dealing with right now in the book of acts.
The persecution here doesn’t come from the doesn’t start with the government. It come starts with business, the god money.
It comes into effect as the business world here in acts lies with a governmental realm and look what happens.
Look, verse 19. When her master saw their hope of profit was suddenly gone, They seize Paul and Silas drag them into the marketplace before the authorities.
Notice marketplace, business, the authority’s government, the result persecution of the believers.
See, when you get 2 thing big forces like this against the gospel, the result will be persecution.
And when they had brought them to the chief magistrate, they said these men, Jews, as they are, are causing our city trouble.
They’re proclaiming customs that are not lawful for us to accept or practice since we are Romans. No.
The first thing to say, these men Jews. Why? Well, Paul inside this probably looked Jewish.
Timothy, part Jewish. Now anti Semitism was rampant in the ancient world just like it is in the modern world.
False accusations, Messiah said it’s gonna it would happen. If you do good, god’s will, you’re gonna be persecuted.
You’re gonna be slander. Don’t be surprised when the media says all these things when they say slam things because that’s the way it is.
But here it says they pro they cause trouble.
You know what’s happening in the culture?
They’re saying believers, conservatives, or believers are causing trouble because you’re resisting this new morality.
It was under they were under a crime if they were if they weren’t re recognized by Rome, they were called religio illicita or an illicit religion.
And that was the faith the gospel was considered was not recognized by Rome. We’re entering this similar day.
A recent court case, a US court ruled that believers could be forced to write messages that go against their faith.
A Christian who had a website company was being forced to write things against god, and the court said you got no right to resist it.
In virgin this is just this week that it came news.
In Virginia, a high court ruled that ministries churches pastors have no right against the law passed in Virginia that says they must everyone must hire even those who live against the gospel into Ministry.
Many, but that would end the church, except that we become radical.
And we say at that point, we cannot bow down to Caesar.
Many believers have been thrown into jail in times past under an anti Christian government or regime, but he ever imagined it would happen in America.
