Today, we will explore the Ministry of Reconciliation. Let’s dive into the Word of God by turning to 2 Corinthians, chapter 5, verses 17 through 21.

2 Corinthians 5:17 states: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” This verse holds a powerful truth—once you accept Christ, you become a completely new being, a unique creation that has never existed before. The key question is: Are you in Christ? When you are in Christ, you are reborn, and your old ways, your old self, pass away. Everything becomes new through Him.

Verse 18 continues: “All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the Ministry of Reconciliation.” Reconciliation means restoring a broken friendship. There was a divide between God and humanity due to sin. But through Jesus Christ, God made a way to restore that relationship. This reconciliation was not just a one-time act; it is a ministry entrusted to us as believers.

Verse 19 further explains: “That God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” Here, we see the depth of God’s love and mercy. He chose not to charge our sins against us. Instead, He provided a way for the entire world to be reconciled through Christ. God’s plan is to offer everyone the opportunity to be restored in friendship with Him.

Think about this: Sin created the barrier between God and humanity. To achieve reconciliation, God had to deal with sin—and He did so through Jesus Christ. Jesus took on our sins, making reconciliation possible. Now, as believers, we are tasked with sharing this message of reconciliation with others.

Verse 20 reminds us of our role: “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” As ambassadors, we represent Christ and carry His message of love, forgiveness, and restoration. Our mission is to share the good news and encourage others to embrace God’s gift of reconciliation.

Finally, verse 21 declares: “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” This profound truth underscores the sacrifice of Jesus. He took on our sins so that we could be made righteous in God’s sight. This is the foundation of the Ministry of Reconciliation.

In conclusion, God has restored our relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. He calls us to take part in this ministry by sharing His message of reconciliation with the world. Are you walking in your calling? Have you embraced the ministry entrusted to you? It’s time to step into your role as an ambassador for Christ and help others find their way back to God.

Join us every Sunday to continue growing in your faith and understanding of God’s Word. Remember, we are World Changers—and through Christ, we are called to change the world, one heart at a time.
