Thankful Sunday Blessings

Starting the Day With Faith and Gratitude

Each morning is a precious gift from God. When we wake up to a new day, we are given another opportunity to experience His mercy, follow His guidance, and walk in His presence.

Beginning the day with prayer helps center our hearts on what truly matters. Instead of letting worry, stress, or distractions lead the day, prayer allows us to invite God’s peace, wisdom, and strength into every moment.

This morning prayer is a simple way to surrender your plans, your responsibilities, and your worries to God as you start the day with faith and gratitude.

A Morning Prayer to Start Your Day

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the blessing of waking up to a brand new day. Thank You for Your protection through the night and for the fresh mercy You have already poured out over my life this morning.

As the day begins, I choose to begin it with You, seeking Your presence before anything else.

Lord, guide my steps today. Help me to walk in wisdom, to make decisions that honor You, and to respond to every situation with patience and grace.

Guard my heart from negativity and my mind from worry. When distractions try to pull me away from what truly matters, gently draw me back to You.

Father, fill me with Your peace as I move through this day. Calm every anxious thought and steady my emotions when pressures arise. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind, keeping me grounded in trust instead of fear.

When situations feel overwhelming, remind me that You are in control and that Your presence surrounds me. Help me carry this peace into every conversation and every responsibility, reflecting quiet confidence in You.

Your Word says in Psalm 5:3,
“In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.”

Today I lay this day before You — my plans, my responsibilities, my goals, and even the unexpected moments. I wait with expectation, trusting that You are working on my behalf.

Lord, fill me with strength for every task ahead. When I feel weak, be my power. When I feel unsure, be my confidence. Give me endurance to complete what needs to be done and humility to depend on You every step of the way.

Father, I also pray for my family and friends. Protect them, provide for them, and surround them with Your peace. Bring healing where there is pain, clarity where there is confusion, and comfort where there is stress.

Let our homes be covered by Your presence and guided by Your love.

Lord, let my life today reflect Your goodness. Help me speak words that build others up, act with kindness, and carry a peaceful spirit.

Use me to encourage someone who may be struggling and to shine light in places that feel heavy.

I surrender this entire day into Your hands. Lead me, strengthen me, and keep me close to You from morning light until night.

To You, Father, I give all the praise, honor, and glory.

In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen.

Please pray for my son who was accused and convicted of felony murder. He would not take a plea bargain because he was innocent. He had an ineffective lawyer and a horrible prosecutor. We have a new attorney who is known as the beast! Please pray that she is affective at getting him released or a new trial. She has renewed our hope.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this son and his family to You. Lord, You know the full truth of this situation. I pray that justice would prevail. Please guide and strengthen the new attorney as she works on this case. Give her wisdom, clarity, and favor as she seeks the truth.

Father, if this young man has been wrongly convicted, I pray that You would open the way for his release or for a fair new trial where the truth can be clearly seen. Strengthen his heart and give him peace and hope even in this difficult time.

Surround this family with Your comfort and remind them that You are the God of justice and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 💛🙏
