There’s an inheritance you have, but you also have to fight for it. And so, well, it’s my inheritance.
Why do I fight? Because that’s the way it is with the enemy and the world. There’s an inheritance there.
And the inheritance is yours. It’s given to you and it will be given to you, but you’ve gotta fight the good fight that God gives you.
What happens if there are those who don’t show up to the hearing or they don’t receive the word?
Well if you don’t receive the word you can’t get the blessing in the word.
So we also, we have to focus also on receiving what God says.
God’s will for you is it says, this is the same Psalm that says delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Now, now let me say something right there. Take that right there. That’s a promise. That’s part of your airship.
Promise. But people take the second part without the first part.
You know, and that is, hey God’s gonna give me the desires of my heart. No. He’s not.
He will do that if you delight in Him. And so you’ll say, okay I’m delighting in Him. Okay.
Let’s move on to the next part. No. Because then you’re really not delighting.
You’re just using it to get to there.
But if you really delight yourself in God you will get the desires of your heart.
That it will, will, will, will I want this.
It may not be you may After you The more you delight in, delight in God you may not still want that.
You’ll want what God has and you’ll want when you’ll be blessed. So he gives you that power.
And that, in this, heirs of the word. Now, now what do heirs do?
They only have to do 1 thing. Inherit. That’s it. But inherit is a verb.
That means it’s an act of process to learn how to inherit. How do I inherit? How do I receive?
How do I inherit? Well the word in Hebrew there gives a, a clue, a key here, which you would not see in English.
It says the, the humble shall inherit, inherit. The word there is what I told you, yarash.
Try it 1 more time. Yarash. Yarash.
It sounds like a nice word because it’s, you have humble people, meek shall inherit the earth.
It sounds very nice but it’s not a nice word.
Meaning, yarosh is not yarosh, yarash is used of Abraham.
It says Abraham, God says Abraham I brought you out of the land that you might what?
That you might yarash the land. Well there’s a, there’s some clues here right now about inheriting.
What did Abraham do to inherit, yarash, the blessings of God?
He had to, number 1, he had to leave the Old. If he didn’t leave the Old, no blessing.
No inheritance. He had to step out by faith.
He had to persevere and walk by faith even when he didn’t see it.
He had to enter the land God had for him. And that tells you something right there.
You see, it’s not just to inherit.
What it’s telling us, if we want to inherit Abraham is the, is the first model and it says again, it says you’re a child of Abraham and you’re an heir.
Goes together. So what did Abraham, what did our father, physically or spiritually, Abraham do to inherit?
First thing he had to do was he had to leave the old.
You wanna inherit what God has the new, you gotta leave the old.
Be it a continual process, not just once.
You know, you All the blessings God gave to your life happened as you left the old.
Because if you still stayed in the old you wouldn’t have the blessing you have today in God.
But it’s not a 1 time thing. It’s every day. Let me This is the old.
I want to leave that behind so I can get I can inherit new.
The more you leave the old, the more you’re open to receive the new inheritance.
Abraham had to step out by faith.
Some things of your inheritance will only come when you step out on faith.
And we’ve seen that in Every time we got a building it was always stepping out on faith.
There’s so many things happen only by stepping out in faith.
Not faith on what you came up with, what God led you to. Step out of it.
He had to persevere. It’s not a thing of just like, you know, everything’s just gonna go There’s perseverance.
You had a hold to it. I’m gonna keep going in faith and you will inherit the land.
You will inherit. Keep knocking. The blessings of Abraham, Children of Abraham leaving the old, persevering and entering the, the, what God has.
Abraham had to enter. He stood back.
He stood in Ur and said you know what, I don’t do anything because I’m saved by faith and I’m saved by grace.
Well that’s all true but that’s not, the application is not.
If you’re saved by grace and faith you’ve got to apply that faith and grace, and move in that faith and grace, and move to something new.
God’s gonna always lead you, it says, to newness of life.
So what do I Lord what do you want me to enter that I need to enter?
What is there that I need to step into that I’m maybe not used to, that God has for me, that he wants me to ride it’s gonna go up.
It’s gonna be something where he’s lifting you up, raising you to a higher ground. Lord, what is it?
Step into it. The other major time in the Bible of inheritance comes when God tells the children of Abraham they are going to inherit the land, the land of Israel.
They were First of all, first of all, how do they inherit that land?
Notice what they have to do. Exactly what their father Abraham did.
The first thing they have to do is get out of Egypt.
If you’re gonna, you cannot get your inheritance while you’re in Egypt.
So when you’re the, the, when you’re, you’re living in this and living in bondage, living in the sinner, you’re gonna be stopping yourself from getting the, what God has ordained for you.
So the first thing is they had to stop being slaves of the enemy, of the pharaoh.
They had to renounce their old identity, leave Egypt, journey by faith. Same thing.
They had to believe in the promise. They had to overcome fear.
In order to end they had to enter the land. Same pattern.
So that tells you a secret right there.
Inheritance is linked to leaving the old, stepping out, journeying in faith, persevere and entering in.
And so, so if there’s something in your life and for instance there’s a bondage in your life.
You may have a bondage. You may have Listen everybody has something but it’s not just that it’s bondage.
It’s not just that it’s bad. It’s not just that God wants you out of it.
It’s that it’s stopping you from inheriting something.
Get rid of it and leave Egypt because the inheritance never comes in Egypt.
It only comes in the Promised Land. Okay.
So now, what did they have to do when they enter the promised land?
And this goes back to when I said, eros is not exactly a nice word.
It says the meek shall inherit the earth. But the word eros means to dispossess.
It means to seize. It means to even destroy. War, fight.
That’s what the word inheritance means. Now you wouldn’t think that. You think inherit inheritance doesn’t mean that in English.
But in the Bible it does mean that. What does that tell you?
The Hebrews could not inherit what God had for them, uh, without fighting for it.
They, first thing they had to do is they had to go to Jericho. They had to take Jericho.
They had to break down a wall. So what’s it telling you?
There’s an inheritance you have but you also have to fight for it.
And they said, well if it’s my inheritance what do I fight?
Because that’s the way it is with the enemy and the world. There’s an inheritance there.
And the inheritance is yours. It’s given to you and it will be given to you but you’ve got to fight fight the good fight that God gives you.
Break the wall. You know I told you that, that virtually every time we have gone to a new building or a bit larger building, we had to do this Jericho thing.
We had a we circled it 7 times and God gave it to us.
I’m not saying that’s what you do in your life.
I’m not telling you, do you know, go home now and circle that person that you’re having a problem with or circle that thing.
Not But I’m saying the principle is Jericho and the principle is God has, has, has something for you but you still also have to fight too.
There’s a good fight. That’s why it says fight the good fight. The word means dispossessed. But wait a minute.
With dispossess, well the Hebrews had to do that. Why? Because someone was on their land.
So what does that mean for you?
Spiritually it means somebody’s may, you want a blessing but somebody’s on that blessing. The enemy’s on that blessing.
If you don’t have it the enemy is on it.
When the Israelites came to their inheritance it was occupied.
It was a sign for God’s people that God said there are giants in the land and says you, but fight.
You’re gonna win. Take courage and I’ll give you every place your, the soles of your feet go.
So the enemy is also, stands on your promise.
He stands on that and you need to get him off. It’s not gonna be by negotiating.
It’s not gonna be by just not doing anything and just, just being nice. That’s not the way it happens.
Sin is standing on your promise.
You have a life of promise but it might be a big, might be a giant.
Might, might be a, a fear, a giant of fear that’s on your, on your thing.
Might be a giant from the past. Might be a giant of, of, of guilt.
It might be a giant of, of shame.
Might be a giant of a 1000000 things but it’s on that promise.
It’s on what God has. Inherit means dispossess. You have to drive it out, Yerush.
Yerush means to seize it. Drive it out. Hi.
