A Bold Move – Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
A Bold Move – Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Self-preservation might have protected you for a long time, but that “safety” will not satiate you. Come out of your cocoon and chase after your calling! You may not see it in yourself, and it may not make sense to you, but be obedient. If you exercise courage and step towards God, He will unlock restoration for generations, past, present, and future! Do you trust Him?
I pray that you will experienced God’s strength and presence in a
whole new way this month. That you will conquer your battles, achieve your goals and find joy in the simplest of things. Amen.Is going to be a month filled with good news, blessings, healing, peace
and breakthrough. God will come through for you. This will be a month
to remember.
whole new way this month. That you will conquer your battles, achieve your goals and find joy in the simplest of things. Amen.Is going to be a month filled with good news, blessings, healing, peace
and breakthrough. God will come through for you. This will be a month
to remember.
I love you girl.
Y’all pray for me. I never ever have an opportunity to speak or I feel like I got this.
Sometimes I’ll be praying like God, I just want to feel like I got this.
But God told me if you ever got this, you won’t need me.
And here I am ungot, tired of being ungot.
But she up here anyway, y’all pray for me. My subject is a bold move.
First Samuel chapter 10 verse 20 through 27.
I got to go through my thought map with my husband.
So if he shouts before y’all do it because he knows where I’m headed.
Um For context, Israel, the nation are in need of a king.
So they think they have received God’s hand and covering time after time after time and yet they could not help but to keep looking at the other tribes and the other nations that surrounded them and all those other nations and all those other tribes had kings.
And Israel said, we need a king, we need a king and God’s like you got me and we’re like we still need a king.
So God who is reckless and meeting us wherever we are, grants them a king, the first king of Israel Saul.
And at this moment in the text, Samuel, the prophet has already anointed Saul king, but he has not presented him yet anointed but not presented.
Most of us want the anointing and the presenting to happen at the same time.
But isn’t it just like God to anoint us? But then still keep us hidden?
Sometimes people say they want the anointing. They don’t really want the anointing.
They want the presentation not recognizing that in order to stay in the position of the presentation, it takes more than someone just introducing you.
You’re gonna need some anointing to stay in that position.
At this point in the text, Samuel is about to introduce Saul to all of Israel as their first king.
And so he gathers all of the tribes and at this point in the text, he’s already done what I would call reading them for filth, ok?
He already let them know y’all didn’t need this king. God was there for you. He’s been faithful.
He saw you from the Red Sea. He made sure you crossed the Jordan.
You didn’t need a king, but God’s given you a king because God gives you what you ask for some time so that you can see that you didn’t really need it.
But since you all have begged for this king, you have them, I’m reading the King James version and it says, and when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of match was taken and saw the son of Kish was taken.
And when they sought him, he could not be found.
He can’t find the man who has been anointed king. This is his moment.
This is when he’s supposed to be stepping into it.
This is when everyone is about to see what God had given him, what God had placed on him and yet he cannot be found.
Therefore, they inquired of the Lord further. If the man should yet come thither, maybe he’s not here.
And the Lord answered, behold, he had hid himself among the stuff and they ran and fetched him.
And when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.
And Samuel said to all the people, see him, whom the Lord hath chosen that there is none like him among all the people and all the people shouted and said, God, save the king.
Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom. They’ve never had a king before.
So Samuel is giving them the details on what it means to have a kingdom.
And he wrote it in a book and laid it up before the Lord and Samuel sent all the people away every man to his house.
And Saul also went home to and there went with him, a band of men whose hearts got it touched.
But the Children of said, how shall this man save us?
And they despised him and brought him no presence, but he held his peace.
Father God, we need you simply put, there’s not a thing that we can do well without you, we can do it, but it won’t have grace, it won’t have anointing, it won’t have power.
And so Holy Spirit, I ask that you would fill this role, not just these walls, God, but every soul in this space.
Every soul watching online to fill that room in the areas where they need it.
The most holy spirit fall as only you can do.
And as you befall God, I said, it would expand their capacity that it would change the way they see their circumstance that it would change the way they see you working on their behalf.
God. I’m asking for a transformational experience that can only happen if you breathe in this room.
So breathe in this room. Great God that you are let there be none of me, no excuses, no distractions, no shame, no pain, just an intimate conversation with you.
God do that thing that you do when you have decided it’s time for somebody to bust a move, open our hearts to receive, open the channel that I may hear from you clearly.
And when it’s all said and done. May just one life. God be changed in Jesus name. Amen.
Amen. Family. Hallelujah.
So gentleman by the name of Aaron Lee Ralston, who went to Carnegie Mellon and studied French and piano.
And at the time that he was studying at this school when he was studying French and piano and he studied something else.
I can’t remember it, but I remember distinctly that he had a minor in piano, which I thought was very interesting considering what else I learned about his story.
One thing I can tell you for sure is that, I bet you had you come up to him when he was wandering the halls and the corridors of Carnegie Mellon that if you would have asked him if he would cut off his right wrist, he would have told you absolutely not.
He needs that right wrist.
He needs the hand connected to it in order to execute his ability to play the piano.
And yet had you asked this same man, this same question, will you cut off your right wrist?
He would have had an answer that was different in 2003.
Because in 2003, while he was out hiking, he found himself pinned between a boulder and a wall.
His right wrist was pinned between that boulder and that wall from a hiking trip.
And he thought to himself that he would be rescued.
And he, he spent five days pinned to this wall pinned to this boulder before he made the decision that if he was going to live, he was gonna have to cut off his right wrist.
Yes, sir. Self preservation in one stage of life looks different than self preservation in another stage of life.
If you ask someone in the midst of a struggle, whether or not they would do something, their answer may be differently when they’re in a space of peace.
I believe that what really determines whether or not it’s self preservation or destruction is what your ultimate mission is.
As the mission changes, the self preservation method may change as well.
Was thinking about this concept in the context of how we go about our day to day life, thinking about moments when the mission is for us to get rest because we’ve over exerted ourselves.
And so self preservation looks like taking a day off and finally having a moment to detach from our world.
That is self preservation. But when we’re trying to overcome depression, self preservation is getting out of that very same bed and trying to get some sunlight and trying to get out of this grief, the methods that we use for self preservation continue to change and fluctuate because what is self preservation in one moment could become destructive in another moment.
It all depends on what the mission is.
If you don’t believe me, ask the caterpillar who gets in the cocoon so that the self preservation in that me in that moment would allow for transformation.
But once that caterpillar becomes a butterfly, if it stays in the cocoon too long, now, the very thing that was once protecting them has now restricted them.
And if I stay in this method of self preservation, I might very well lose out on my destiny.
Been thinking a lot about the ways that we try to preserve ourselves from experiencing further trauma, from experiencing shame, from experiencing another heartbreak.
And though it is honorable in some moments, I want to reason with you today that that very method of self preservation could be responsible for why you feel stagnant in your life today.
That self preservation that tells you if you open up, you could lose.
But in a marriage that self preservation may mean that you preserve yourself and lose the marriage.
If we could have a real conversation in this room, we would have to be willing to ask ourselves, can I trust the version of myself?
I’m trying to preserve because not every version of you needs to be preserved.
And if you build up a system and a routine and a way of being that preserves that version of yourself, then you miss out on God’s ability to transform that very version of yourself you’re trying to preserve.
I wish I could say that the way I feel it in my head because I feel like there are moments where God wants access to our way of being.
He wants access to our thought.
He wants access to our heart, but we are so committed to preserving what is left over that we miss out on the opportunity to allow God to transform what is left over.
You wanna experience restoration, but you don’t wanna open yourself up.
And so you’re mad at God that He won’t restore, but God said I could restore, but you’re not giving me anything to work with because you’re so busy trying to preserve what you have left.
Self preservation has an expiration date.
If you don’t believe me, ask Moses who went to Midian after he killed and became a murderer in Egypt.
He goes to Midian for 40 years.
But after he’s in Midian for 40 years, the Lord makes himself known to him in Midian to let him know that what you did to preserve yourself in Midian was good for where you were.
But now it’s time for you to come out because I got more work for you to do.
You see self preservation is not the mission. Your self preservation is a method that you use as a vehicle.
God help me to say it, self preservation is a vehicle but it is not the destination.
So I practice preserving myself because I know that God has work for me to do.
But I don’t make my mission protecting myself because if I make my mission protecting myself, then I will miss out on the very reason that I was created.
And so I have to learn to balance the reality that I do need to preserve myself.
And I do need to move with wisdom and I do need to have boundaries.
But I also need to know when none of that matters because it’s time for me to step into something that requires vulnerability.
It’s time for me to step into something that I’ve never seen before and I can’t do it and be comfortable at the same time.
So self get ready to get uncomfortable because we’re moving into mission mode.
You gotta know the, the difference between preservation mode and mission mode.
And I felt like God told me that there were just one or two people in this room who were about to move from preservation mode and into mission mode that they did what they had to do to preserve themselves.
They did what they had to do to preserve their peace.
They did what they had to do to preserve their mind, but they’ve been in preservation mode for so long that they feel like God is trying to move them somewhere, but they don’t know how to let them go.
When I’m telling you the only way that you move into mission mode is when you say God, I’ve got enough of me now.
I’m ready for you. God, I recognize that there’s still something left, but I don’t wanna be down to crumbs anymore.
I wanna know what you can do with leftovers.
If you don’t believe that you serve a God who can do something with leftovers. Baby.
You in the right church because the potter’s house is all about broken leftovers that the potter knew how to put back together.
If I had about five saints in this place, we would take a minute and tear the roof off this place because we know that we serve a God of leftovers.
You’re looking at me in overflow, but you didn’t know that overflow started with leftovers.
You’re jealous of what God is doing now.
But if you could have seen the overdraft, if you could have seen when I lost my mind, if you could have seen when I wanted to get out of here, if you could have seen when I thought I had no word you’re celebrating now.
But baby, when I tell you that now couldn’t have happened unless then you can protect the leftovers.
You can offer the leftovers as a sacrifice.
What is this?
Had to be willing to take what was left over even though he didn’t think it was enough, even though he wasn’t sure that it could be powerful.
God says I want what you have left over because what you have left over is enough for me to transform.
Not just your world, not just you, but the world bishop was talking and he said that there were some world changers in the show.
See, sometimes we don’t wanna set ourselves up for failure by saying things like I’m a world changer because you think you’re insignificant in the overall platinum plan of the world.
But if you knew how connected your world was to everything else God wants to do in the world, you would recognize that you don’t have to have an international platform to be a world changer.
All you have to do is have a mission that says something in my world is going to change because I’ve gone through hell and back and I’m not gonna leave hell waiting here for my Children.
Something’s gotta change. I’m gonna change the way we communicate. I’m gonna change the way we see love.
I’m gonna change the way we build businesses. I’m gonna change the way we engage with one another.
I’m gonna change the way we worship. I’m gonna raise up a new standard.
I don’t know about what happened before me.
But one thing I know is when God says my time is up, I’m gonna leave a new standard so that everyone who’s connected to me can come up a little higher.
That’s all I wanna do. If breaking the chain means you came up a little higher.
That’s all that matters to me. I may not be the first millionaire.
I may not be the first billionaire, but I’m gonna leave a rope because I’m gonna be the first thousandaire.
I’m gonna be the 1st 100.
Don’t kick something off in my family that ain’t never been kicked off again.
I’m gonna kick something out from my generation that has never been kicked off before because my creator created me to create something different.
I am not created to do what has already been done.
I’m created to break something.
I’m created to change something I’m created to establish something I’m created to take some territory.
I’m on a mission. I’m on a mission.
Yeah.
And the mission, the mission requires that I come out of this trance.
I don’t know she though the mission requires that I come out of this trance that makes me keep talking myself out of the very thing that I’m called to.
I gotta come out of the trance where I feel like protecting me is the ultimate goal.
Because if I am protecting me, I am telling God that I don’t trust you to protect me.
I know you called me to it, but I don’t trust you to protect me in it.
It takes a certain kind of vulnerability to say I’m gonna go even if I feel uncovered because I recognize that the call came with protection.
The call came with protection, called me to this marriage, called me to this business.
But what if I fail? What if they break my heart if I called you to it, I’m gonna protect you through it.
So what if they break your heart? I know how to put it together. So what if you fail?
I know how to pick up the broken pieces. So what if it doesn’t work out?
I know how to make all things work together for the good of those.
The Lord and I record Jesus masters the ability to go from preservation mode, commission mode.
He, he knew if you follow in the gospels, his ministry, there were moments where he would perform a miracle and tell a leopard, don’t tell anyone because right now I still have to preserve myself.
He would perform ministry and move to the next town immediately because I got to preserve myself.
But when we see Jesus in the garden, he’s moving from preservation mode into mission mode.
So when he’s in the garden, we hear him say if it’d be your wife, if you could pass this cup from me, he’s been in preservation mode so long that when it’s time to move into mission mode, he’s got to see God because I gotta let myself go so that you can perform the work that you want to do through me.
And God, I can’t let myself go unless you teach me how to unclench my plans and unclench my ways and un clinch the way I thought it should be and un clinch the love that I have for the very thing that’s hurting me.
And I’m clinched the grasp that I have on what I thought my future should look like.
I gotta move out of self preservation mode and I’m afraid and I’m scared, but nevertheless, not my will be done.
And we see him in the garden and he’s praying until blood and sweat falls from his head.
Because the hardest thing you will ever have to do let you go.
But restoration depended on Jesus coming to this moment.
I don’t know who you are in this room, but you’re hungry for restoration.
not the kind of restoration that you get because you wanna go back in time.
Oh, help me. God, let me say it the way God gave it to me.
Jesus is so committed to God’s mission in the earth that he has to be willing to let himself go.
So what is God’s mission in the earth? God’s mission in the earth is to reconnect creation with creator?
Yeah, that’s all right. We’re going somewhere.
So when God creates man and woman in the garden, he has connection with man and woman.
We don’t have to wonder where God is. He’s just a cry away.
We don’t have to wonder if his hand is on us.
We don’t have to wonder if he’s gonna provide because we were already connected in the garden.
And so when Adam and Eve eat from the fruit in Genesis three, there is separation that is created.
So God is on a mission to reconnect with His creation so that His creation can understand the fullness of what they received when they were created.
Because what happened in the garden skewed our perspective and our perception on who we are in the earth.
We don’t trust ourselves. We don’t trust our creativity. We don’t trust that. We can say no, we doubt ourselves.
We worry, we’re in depression. We have shame and addiction because of what happened in the garden.
But God says, regardless of what happened in the garden, if I could just connect with them again, I could still bring them to a place of restoration.
You want God to restore what you lost. God says, I wanna restore what you never even knew you had.
I want to restore the confidence you had never even knew you had.
You have gifts and talents that you never even knew existed.
But because there was separation, you don’t even know everything I put in you.
But I hear God saying it’s still in you to win. It’s still in you to create.
It’s still in you to have Dominion. It’s still in you to subdue.
It’s still in you to tread on serpents. It’s still in you to walk through hell and not get burned.
It’s still in you to talk through a serpent and not lose your head.
It’s still in you trying to get you back to what you I wanna prophesy in this room for a minute.
You’ve put all of your eggs in one basket thinking you only got one thing to work with and I hear God saying I put so much on the inside of you that if you would ever come out of self preservation mode, you would see that I got layers to who you are.
We don’t do basic around here. Baby. Basic is nothing that God does.
If the flowers are intricate and the universe has intricacy, why would he create you and make you basic?
I don’t know who lied to you. I don’t know who prophesized over you.
But our uproot every thought and plan of the enemy that has made you feel simple and made you feel basic and made you feel stupid and made you feel like good.
Any good thing ever come out of my city?
I rebuke it and I fight it in the name, in the name of Jesus.
It’s more to you than you think it’s more in you than you believe.
That’s why you hungry to break a generational curse, but no evidence that you could do it.
God says you don’t need the evidence. You just need the hunger.
If you’re hungry for it, it’s because I put something in you that’s making you hungry for what can happen if we just connect again.
If we just connect again.
If you just trust again, if you just dare to not believe that you are the most important thing about you because that version of you was not even who I created before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
I knew you. I knew that was in you.
You think you shock yourself, that you just slid by.
God said I knew that was in you. I knew that was in you.
Good and bad. I knew that was in you. I knew you could create that report.
I knew you could build that business. I knew you could recover from that divorce.
I knew that was in you. You didn’t know it was in you, but I knew it was in you.
And because I knew it was in you, I put you in position to pull out what I knew was in you.
God keeps putting you in positions and you don’t understand why God’s doing it.
God says it’s because I know what’s in you.
So if you talk yourself out of it, you’re talking yourself out of you.
You’re talking yourself out of what I knew.
So when Jesus is breaking out of self preservation, he knows the only way to do it is if I confront this fear, not suppress it, not ignore it.
I got that bad boy down, not pretend that it’s not there, not just go with the flow and pretend it’s not haunting me and tell me I gotta turn that thing around and look that devil straight in the face because I got a mission.
Jesus gets so intentional about moving from preservation mode into mission mode that he starts making a demand on his circle because the circle that you have in self preservation mode may not be the same circle that you get to keep from mission mode.
Jesus is sitting at the last supper with his disciples and start saying you carried me this far.
But now I gotta make a move and because I’m getting ready to make a move, I’m letting you know, I already know that not everybody is coming with me, but just because you are coming, it doesn’t mean that I’m not going because I don’t need a cheerleading squad.
When I move into mission mode, I just need to obey the voice of God.
If I gotta wait for you to get yourself together, I may miss my moment and I gotta make sure I hit this window.
Jesus tells his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me for whosoever will save his life, we’ll lose it and whosoever will lose it for my sake.
Better stop losing your life for everybody else’s sake.
I know it’s cute to people, please.
I know it’s true to be everything to everybody, but it’s not just about losing your life.
It’s about losing your life for his sake. It’s a lot of life draining happening in this world.
A lot of life draining happening in these relationships. A lot of life draining is taking place.
And God says I’m nowhere in that you keep asking me to get in it, but I was never in it.
I’m asking you to start losing your life for my sake because I can guarantee if you lose it for my sake, I can restore it.
I hear God saying, stop asking the very person who robbed you to also restore you.
If you would trust me with your life, I can give you more than you gave me.
That’s why I give my offering.
That’s why I sow my seed because there’s nothing I can give to the kingdom that could even compare to what he’ll give to me.
Takes a bold move to say, I’m gonna deny myself.
I’m gonna deny those insecurities. I’m gonna deny that fear of failure.
I’m gonna deny that voice that says, I’m too old. I’m gonna deny that voice that says I’m too young.
I’m gonna deny that voice that says I failed too many times.
I’m gonna deny myself and say God, if this is where you’re sending me here, if this is where you need me, I’m gonna have to take my cross with me because I got some things to kill along the way.
But I’m going. Isn’t it amazing that Jesus says, you gotta take that cross and get on the cross right now.
You just gotta be willing to take a cross with you because when you get to where I’m calling you, there is a version of you that may have to die in order so that the real version of you can live.
So don’t let God open a door for you that you don’t take your cross with you into because when you cross that threshold, every trick playing and plot of the enemy is gonna haunt you and taunt you.
But that’s ok because I got my cross with me and because he defeated death on the cross, it doesn’t matter what the enemy says.
I got a cross with me that reminds me that a resurrecting power is mine.
That the joy of the Lord is gonna be my salvation. I got evidence.
Got a mission.
God’s got a mission for this generation.
He’s got a mission for your family.
God’s got a mission in the earth and the mission requires your participation, not your preservation.
Jesus on the cross at 33 it wasn’t about preservation, it was about full participation.
Israel keeps getting stuck between preservation and restoration.
If you read the Old Testament and into the New Testament, you’ll see that Israel makes a commitment that they’re gonna follow God because God came through.
So no matter where you take me, I’m gonna follow you.
And do you know they were not out of Egypt for very long before self preservation kicks back in and they start wanting to go back to the very place where they were enslaved because they’d rather have a master.
They know than a master who requires the unknown.
That’s the tricky thing about self preservation.
Is sometimes you will settle for a lesser master because you know it then to dare to trust the master in the unknown.
And this is Israel’s problem.
This is the problem with the Pharisees and the they are committed to preservation.
So they miss when God is creating moments for restoration.
See, I think in order to fully understand this, we have to let go of the idea that restoration is when God gives me back, what I lost.
Restoration is when God takes you back and gives you what generations lost.
When God gives you what they lost hundreds and hundreds of years ago, when my father is building these communities, I know him well enough to know that he’s not even thinking about a house that he lost.
He’s thinking about a house. His ancestors were never even allowed to buy because restoration is not just about getting back what the enemy stole from you.
I’m gonna give you what he stole from your grandmother.
I’m gonna give you what he stole from your oh, I’m sorry that did something in my spirit because I got generational Brokenness and generational loss.
And my mother and grandmother had to say goodbye before they could see that they’ve never seen the righteous forsaken.
I believe that somebody’s looking from heaven and while you think you got a long way to go, they’re thank God that you went further than they ever thought possible.
God gave you what I lost God bless my great, great, great, great, great grandchildren with everything the enemy stole from me.
Oh, I’m sorry.
I feel the wind coming. I’m sorry.
I feel like the gates of hell are about to be opened and that there’s gonna be one or two of us who leave this place more determined than we were before to go into the enemy’s camp.
I’m sorry, y’all know I am a little bit of a church girl.
But when I was growing up, they used to sing a song about going into the enemy’s camp and taking back what he stole from me.
Do that and worry about yourself, baby. I’m worried about my stuff. I’m worried about my blessings.
I’m worried about my peace. Hell, if you got my peace, you gonna have to give it back to me and I’m not gonna wait for you to hand it over our slaves and run up on the devil that’s been running up on me.
Yeah, you stole it but you can’t keep it.
You stole it but you can’t have it. The divorce tried to break it but you can’t have me.
I hear like God is saying that 2023 might just be the year of harvest.
You planted seeds and you thought the enemy snatched them. But God says, I keep perfect records.
I know everything you planted. I know what your daddy planted. I know what your grandmother planted.
No wonder we’re surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses because I wanna witness the moment you come into yourself and remind hell that you slaved me.
But I stayed in position because I trust that the slay is working for my good good.
I Yeah, just like that.
Just like that. Just like that. A bold move to go into the enemy’s camp.
Just like that. Just like that. I hear God saying that it’s time for you to get bold again.
I hear God saying that the wicked hides when no one is chasing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
If I could just hear somebody wrong. Oh no, we do.
Did you hear the demons tremble?
Did you hear hall? Get nervous? Somebody’s roaring in a way. They ain’t roared in a long time.
Somebody is coming out in a way. They ain’t capable.
Ok?
Bold, bold, bolder than I ever been bolder than I ever thought possible, bolder than they ever seen in my generation.
Bolder than they’ll ever see again. I’m gonna do something you’ve never seen before.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Be careful. Don’t roll like that no more.
Somebody’s getting a in this place and when they roar, be careful who you sit next to because you’re not even gonna mean to roar.
But all of a sudden you’re gonna think if they could roar after all they’ve been through, if they could be bold as a lion when life tried to run over them, if they could trust God in every season.
Maybe just, maybe I gotta warn me too.
I see you.
I see you. I see you and you got it.
I see you and it’s real. I see you when you still got time.
I see you when you haven’t seen your best days yet, I see you when your body is healed.
I see you when your mind is healed.
I see you when God says I know the plans I have for you plans to prosper you and not harm you to give you a future and a hope somebody’s going to hope again.
Yeah.
Yeah, you too.
You too. I chose this text because made a bold move and choosing Saul solid stuff.
The lease drives and the li family.
God choose him to be king.
He’s not like David who is such a good shepherd boy than making him king had a natural progression.
Saul wasn’t this mighty leader even within his family that makes a bold move and choosing you.
I mean Him. God made a bold move. I made a bold move.
I made a bold move and choosing you. God made a bold move and giving you that opportunity.
I made a bold move and putting you in position. I made a bold move in allowing you access.
God made a bold move and saying I trust you with that child, a bold move and saying I trust you in that marriage, a bold move and saying I trust you with no degree and no connections and no training.
I made a bold move when I put you in that room.
But so Saul couldn’t match God’s energy.
I made a bold move in choosing him, but Saul couldn’t rise to the occasion.
And it’s so interesting because earlier in the text, when he’s first anointed, he begins prophesying with the prophets and he finds himself sitting at the table in the chief seat.
At first he could do it.
But it’s not bold when you’re different in front of strangers.
This moment in the text is the only moment that really matters because this is when what happened outside of his tribe, he now must own in front of his tribe.
And when it’s time for the coronation, when it’s time for him to step into it, he’s nowhere to be found, right?
I choose the King James version of this text because it tells us he was hiding among us.
Done. Self preservation is when we hide among the staff, so much stuff, so much to worry about.
So much stuff, so many memories, so much shame, so much stuff, God, I can’t move because there’s so much stuff I can’t dream because there’s so much stuff I can’t believe because there’s so much stuff.
And so I can’t even be about a mission right now.
Wanna talk to somebody who’s hidden among the staff, your mind, your heart, your faith hidden among the stuff I wanna be bold.
I wanna have faith. I wanna move with authority.
But it’s so much stuff I want God to heal the marriage. I want God to save the child.
But the truth is there’s just so much stuff.
If you knew all of this stuff, you would see why I’m hiding.
If you knew all of the stuff, you would know why, why it’s so hard for me to move.
If you knew all of this stuff, people want to call.
But they don’t understand this stuff that I gotta move out of and the stuff is hiding me.
This stuff doesn’t require anything from me. This stuff just requires that I stay hidden.
But I hear God saying, it’s gonna take a bold move for you to come from out of the stuff.
It says that when they wondered we saw was that the Lord told them he’s hidden among the stuff.
The Lord, the Lord knew where he was because the Lord knew who he was.
And so he told somebody where he was so that he could still have a shot at becoming who he was called to be.
And I believe that God gave me this message because there is somebody in this room who the Lord says is hidden among the stuff.
And God said, Sarah, go get them. I know exactly where they are. They’re 10 years back, going through stuff.
They’re six months back hidden among the stuff.
And I hear God saying come out, come out, wherever you are, come out, come out, wherever you are, come out, come out, come out from depression, come out, come out, come out from anxiety, come out, come out, come out.
You may have to go to therapy but you gotta come out, you may have to do some apologizing but you gotta come out, it’s time for you to come out of your stuff because I got a crown with your name on it.
I got a crown that only you can hold up. I got a territory that only you can roll.
So come out out wherever you are is anybody in this room willing to make a bold move to come out of their stuff because they recognize there is a generation depending on you to come out, come out, come out, come out, come out, it’s gonna hurt.
You can come out limping, you can come out of pray.
But my God just come out, you can come out broken. You can come out of shame.
But by any means necessary, make sure you come out.
We gotta make sure that the world knows we’re still here.
We gotta make sure our Children know you can come out from here.
I dare you touch somebody and tell them I’m getting ready to come out.
I’m getting ready, come out, watch your toes. I’m getting ready. Watch your feeling some come out.
Look at him already at the time.
Because when you make a decision to come out, you can’t even stay in your seat anymore because I gotta get it out of.
I’m sorry, I gotta move. I’m sorry, I gotta change.
I’m sorry, I got a crow. I’m sorry, I’m coming out, I’m coming out.
I know you want me to stay from a man.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Every time you take a step that’s going into the enemy’s camp.
When you come out, after all that stuff you’ve been in that’s going into the enemy’s camp.
I, they are coming out. God, I feel like preaching in this.
I’m coming out of it.
I’m coming out of that old way of thinking old way of drinking.
That old way of lying. I’m coming out of that old way. I got a word.
Yeah, I’m gonna come out.
My voice is coming out. My mind is coming out. My peace is coming out.
My creativity is coming out. You think it was just you?
But the moment you moved, you gave someone else permission to come out too. That’s why you gotta come out.
And I know you’ve been there a long time and I know it’s all you’ve ever known.
But if you don’t come out of your grave, then somebody might think that the grave is the end on pain.
Then someone may think pain is there because I’m still here.
And if I am still here, then there is something for me to do Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, holy Spirit, push him.
Holy Spirit, pull them Holy Spirit, break the pride. Holy Spirit, break the lie.
Holy Spirit, break the chain. Holy Spirit, pull the stronghold down Holy Spirit.
I saw him come out and you told me if they would bust a move that you would bust a move too.
So God, here we are bold self with a bad self saying God man, if you’re calling I’m coming.
I don’t know what you can do with me.
Hallelu.
Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. You holding your baby.
You brought her out with you. You moved out of your seat with your baby baby.
That’s a prophecy of what you’re gonna do in her life. You carried her out. She’s just young.
She don’t even know what you’re doing, but she’s gonna look back and thank God that you had enough sense to say I’m gonna bring my baby with me.
She’ll see later that when I came out, I brought her out with me.
You better have mama with your self.
You came down here with your partner because we coming out of this thing together. I brought my Children.
I want it so could no longer hide amongst the staff.
The Lord pointed him out, stop hiding among the stuff.
And when he called him out of the stuff, Samuel said, look at him, standing shoulders above everyone else from the outside, looking in.
He was the obvious choice He just couldn’t trust it because sometimes everyone else can see it.
But you, and if you’re waiting to see it to move in it, then you may never move.
The question is, can you trust what God sees over? What do you see?
I know we talk about people hating, but God also uses people to confirm what’s in you and you’re so busy brushing it off that you don’t see.
God is trying to hold up a mirror. Yes, you’re that special. Yes, you’re that anointed.
Yes, you are that chosen. Yes, you are that called. It’s in you. It’s in you. It’s in you.
It’s in you and everybody sees it but you ok.
It’s a shame because those of us who study the Bible know that Saul never mastered making that bold move to trust God.
He became king by default.
But God says if you still obey me, if you still trust me, I’ll bless you.
But it would take a bold move for him to trust that and to not fall susceptible to who the people wanted to, what the culture wanted from them.
He would have to decide that rejection from them was worth connection with God.
I was sharing my thoughts with my husband thank and we always have this moment where we’re asking each other who’s, who’s the hero in this text?
Because we know that Saul continues to fall and almost as if a light bulb went off at the same time, we said they are the people who receive this word will be the hero of this text because they will do what Saul was unable to do.
And that is this.
When God makes a bold move and choosing you, you will have to make a bold move out of your stuff, out of your past, out of your shame.
A bold move to not be defined by what you did.
A bold mood to not be defined by who you used to be and where you came from.
A bold move to say you could have chosen anybody but you chose me.
And even if I don’t see it, I’m gonna move in it because I can match your energy.
I can match your bold.
I want you to lift your hands to receive.
For God already knows about you.
It would be remiss of me to say that if you’re not in this room and you don’t know who Jesus is.
I’m telling you right now that Jesus is the ultimate clerk.
When we talk about create or being connected to creation, Jesus is the plug that makes the difference as a disciple of Jesus.
I’m I see his life. I model his worship.
I see how he moved and I make that my motto because he said, I only do what I see my father in heaven.
Do I wanna be like Jesus in that way?
And if you’re in this room and you’ve tried being like everyone else and you tried and dabbled in a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
I wanna give you an opportunity, not at religion, but at relationship.
Because your relationship with your creator is the only way that you can find out why you were created and you will find out what you consider a gift is just an introduction to the layers of what God has placed inside of you.
You’re at this altar and it’s a bold move for you to be here.
I see you in the balcony with your hands up.
It’s a bold move for you to go out of your way to be here.
After all you’ve seen after all you’ve experienced. I see you, babe.
It’s a bold move for you to be here and to be open again and to take another step.
Heaven sees you. Heaven seized you and all your stuff.
Holy spirit, you know us.
You’ve been there every step of the way, hovering over darkness, covering the face of the deep Holy Spirit.
You’ve seen every nightmare you’ve seen every misspoken word that took root and produce fruit, the Holy Spirit.
I, I ask that wherever there is an open heart, an open soul and the ready foot that you would begin to move them in the direction of God’s vision and mission for their life.
God, I thank you that they have a unique distinction that in a world full of billions that you know their fingerprint because you gave them unique distinction.
God. And I wanna speak to the unique distinction on the inside of them.
And I say Holy Spirit, stir up the gift of God that’s on the inside of them.
Holy Spirit begin to permeate the places where there has been pain, to permeate the stuff that has left them restricted to permeate the darkness, to permeate the fear, to permeate the insecurity.
And when you permeate it, God, I know that you will take over.
So God, I’m asking you to have a bold move on the inside of them.
The kind of move that changes the trajectory of their lives for generations, Holy Spirit do that, which only you can do it took a bold move to get them out of position and a bold move will put them back in position.
So Holy Spirit, I ask that you would begin to fall and that you would teach them to stay open and to stay obedient.
We come up against Principalities and powers over witchcraft that was spoken over them both the words they said they’ll never be able to do it.
You’ll never be able to do it. You’re just like your daddy, you’re just like your mother.
I rebuke it in the name of Jesus. I rebuke it in the name of Jesus.
I don’t care how good or bad your mother or father was.
You’re just like who God called you to be if you’re just like them, you can’t be just like you.
So God give them the ability to take up space and their unique identity.
And God, I thank you for the territory connected to their identity.
I thank you that you left the door open because you knew they were coming out.
I thank you God, that you left a seat at the table because you knew they would have this moment.
Now, Holy Spirit, I ask that you would flood them side out.
Let your Holy Spirit flood every fear, let it flood every town.
And may they come forth bold as a lion and may they roar.
May they roar again? A generational roar.
Oh You silence their father.
But when you silence their father, you only made their roar stronger. You silence their great grandfather.
But the enemy didn’t know that you meant it for evil. God says, I’m gonna use it for good.
Never would have been had it not been for the generations that lost Holy Spirit, released the roar of the holy ghost bellies.
And when the roar comes, let there be rivers of living water that cop fought. I dare you to roar.
I dare you to come into agreement with this word.
Release your roar, release your roar, release your roar, release your, release your father’s roar, release your great granddaughter’s roar.
Release your great, great, great grandfather’s roar. It’s yours. It’s yours. It’s yours. It’s yours. It’s yours. It’s yours.
It sho sho out of your belly, out of your belly belly.
There’s a flow, your belly. That’s a flow. There’s a flow that will move you.
There’s a flow that will help you. There’s a flow that will change you.
There’s a flow that will transform you. There’s a flow that will break a chain.
There’s a flow that will drown the devil.
I won’t even say amen to this prayer because a man suggests there’s an inch and I heard heaven say that this is just the beginning.
And if you get stuck again and if you start worrying about you again, I hear God say all you gotta do is send out a roar and remind your spirit made a decision to at this stuff.
Yeah.
Let the roar be a reminder that you’re righteous as a lion.
And God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and a sound night, you got a sound mind.
You got a sound mind and if your mind isn’t sound, you got a roar to release any time your mind is not sound.
It’s because you got stuck in the stuff.
So you gotta remind yourself, oh I must be in the stuff again.
So I gotta make a bold move to come out so that I can get back to moving in power and in love and with the sound mouth, a devil in hell that can come up the sound of mind that God gave you.
I love your family.
