When the World Falls Silent, Heaven Speaks: Standing Firm in a Divided Time

Church, as we open Romans 15:1–6 again today, we return to a message our world desperately needs—what this world cannot say. The world is loud, but its words are empty. It speaks with passion but without wisdom, without the knowledge of God, without the Spirit of truth.

Paul reminds us that strength in the Christian life is not about self-pleasing but about carrying the weaknesses of others. “Even Christ did not please Himself,” Scripture says, “but the reproaches of those who insulted You fell upon Me.” Jesus bore the hatred of the world so that we could stand in the love of God.

And right now, that same divide Paul saw in his day is happening again. There’s a spiritual continental divide—a line being drawn between what calls itself “the church” and what truly is His Church. It’s not about buildings, denominations, or traditions. God Himself is shaking everything that can be shaken, separating what is real from what only pretends to be.

Don’t be afraid of this shaking. Jesus said that near the end of the age, everything that cannot stand will fall, but what is rooted in Him will remain. You may lose friends or face rejection, but remember—when the world speaks evil of your faith, it is confirming that you belong to Christ. Their hatred of you is proof of your new values. It’s not rejection—it’s recognition.

Following Jesus isn’t safe or ordinary—it’s the greatest adventure you’ll ever know. The world looks for adrenaline in danger and thrill, but the real thrill is walking with the living God. When you choose to follow Him completely, heaven itself begins to speak for you.

Paul said the things written in Scripture were written for our learning—that through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures, we might have hope. Notice that—hope doesn’t come from the news, from success, or from people’s approval. Hope is born in the Word of God.

The early church didn’t have the New Testament yet—they studied the Old. And every prophecy, every verse whispered the same truth: the Messiah would come, suffer, and rise again. Jesus Himself quoted those ancient words. When He cleansed the temple and declared, “My Father’s house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations,” He was fulfilling what Isaiah and Jeremiah had already said centuries before.

That’s why our faith is not blind. It’s confirmed by history, prophecy, and the living witness of Scripture. The Old Testament foretold Him. The New Testament revealed Him. And today, the Spirit confirms Him in our hearts.

So what this world cannot say, heaven declares: You are loved. You are known. You belong to God. And when everything around you seems divided or uncertain, let that truth anchor your soul.

The world may fall silent, but heaven is still speaking—over you, through His Word, and by His Spirit—until the day you see Him face to face in glory.
