Behind the shocking events of October 7th in Gaza lies a mystery that reaches back to ancient times. Behind Hamas, behind Gaza, behind the Palestinians—there is a spiritual force at work. Not the people themselves, but the ancient enemy Scripture identifies as the dragon.
Hezbollah’s communication systems were suddenly destroyed, and a key terrorist commander responsible for massacres and kidnappings was eliminated by Israel. The Middle East sits on edge—fulfilling End-Time prophecies foretold in the Bible.
This is not just politics. It’s prophetic.
In Revelation 12, we see a vision of a woman clothed with the sun, a child about to be born, and a dragon waiting to devour that child. This dragon is Satan, the enemy of Israel and God’s purposes. And he’s still waging war today.
God resurrected Israel, fulfilling prophecy and setting the stage for Messiah’s return. In response, the enemy mimicked this act—resurrecting an ancient foe of Israel: the Philistines. Today, they are known as the Palestinians.
In their own language, they pronounce it “Filistini”—Philistines.
Just as Israel was reborn in 1948, so too was Philistia resurrected under a new name: the Gaza Strip. Both ancient peoples returned to their ancestral lands at the same time—one by God’s hand, the other used by the enemy.
The ancient Philistines were Israel’s fierce enemies, known for their aggression and training children for war. Goliath himself was called a “man of war from his youth.” Today, we see young children in Gaza trained for violence, sometimes even through UN-sponsored schools.
On October 7th, Hamas invaded Israeli villages and a peaceful music festival—mirroring exactly how the Philistines invaded Israel from Gaza in ancient times. Scripture even identifies the regions: the lowlands (Shephilah) and the Negev. That’s precisely where the modern attacks occurred.
The Bible foretells this. In 2 Chronicles, Philistines invaded the lowland and southern regions of Judah. In Joel, God condemns Philistia (Gaza) for taking entire communities captive and removing them from their homes—exactly what we saw on October 7th.
The ancient tactics of taking hostages, committing acts of terror, and attacking peaceful communities have returned. Hamas’s name itself echoes Scripture. In Hebrew, “Hamas” means violence. And the prophet Isaiah foretold: “No more shall Hamas be heard in your land.”
Revelation also speaks of the dragon spewing out a flood to destroy the woman—Israel. What did Hamas call their October 7th operation? “Al-Tufan”—which means “The Flood” in Arabic. They may not have read Revelation, but the enemy behind them knows the prophecy.
The United Nations recently passed a resolution demanding that Israel vacate Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), the Golan Heights, Gaza—and even Jerusalem. 124 nations voted for it, aligning with Zechariah’s prophecy that in the last days, all nations will come against Jerusalem. God warns: any nation that tries to move Jerusalem will injure itself.
All of this is not coincidence—it’s confirmation. The conflict is ancient. The enemy is real. And this war is spiritual.
Israel is the vessel through which God brings His Word, His Messiah, and His kingdom. That’s why the dragon—Satan—seeks to destroy her.
But the battle doesn’t stop there.
Revelation 12 tells us that the dragon also wages war on the “rest of her offspring”—those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. That includes you. The war against Israel is also a war against all believers.
As spiritual descendants, we must rise like Israel did. We cannot live in fear, waiting for the next attack. We must take ground, live in victory, and resist the schemes of the enemy. We must not be intimidated. We must stand firm.
This is the hour to wake up. We are living in prophetic times. Everything the Bible said about the End Times is now coming to pass.
