Steven Furtick Daily Devotional – October 14, 2026: Standing Strong in the Middle
If you feel caught in the middle right now—between where you used to be and where you believe God is taking you—this day is for you. Maybe you’re waiting for healing to show up, for a prodigal to come home, for a door to open at work, or for the heaviness in your heart to finally lift. You love Jesus, but you’re tired. You’re praying, but you’re wondering how much longer. Today, God wants to remind you that He does some of His greatest work not at the finish line, but right in the middle of the struggle. This isn’t wasted time. He’s building something in you that’s bigger than what you can see. You are not alone in this season, and you are not stuck. The same God who started a good work in you is still writing your story today.
Anchored By His Word
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6 KJV) This verse isn’t just a pretty promise—it’s God’s guarantee. Paul wrote it from prison, not from comfort. That means this confidence doesn’t come from how things look on the outside, but from who God is on the inside. He doesn’t start what He won’t finish. When your feelings say, “I won’t make it,” this verse says, “God is still at work.” When circumstances say, “It’s over,” this verse says, “He’s not done.” Let this settle deep in your heart today: your life is still under construction by the hands of a faithful God.
Growing Strong In The Middle Place
Sometimes we think spiritual growth happens only on mountaintops or during big moments at church. But most growth happens in ordinary Tuesdays and hard Wednesdays—days when you choose to trust God while nothing seems to change. The middle is where you learn to worship instead of worry, to speak faith instead of fear, to stay planted instead of running away. Today, choose one area where you feel most discouraged. Bring it honestly before God. Then decide, “I will not let this middle moment define me; I will let it refine me.” Call a friend to pray with you, put worship music on during your commute, or write down one way God has been faithful before. Each small decision pulls your focus back from what’s missing to who is with you—Jesus, right here, right now.
Lord, Deepen My Faith
Father, in Jesus’ name, I ask You to stretch and strengthen my faith today. When doubts shout louder than truth, quiet my heart with Your presence. Teach me to trust You, not just for the outcome, but in the process. Grow my desire to open Your Word, to hear Your voice, and to respond with obedience even when it’s uncomfortable. Remove the lies I’ve believed about not being enough or never changing. Replace them with Your promises. Holy Spirit, help me to see myself the way You see me—chosen, loved, and in progress. Let every challenge become an invitation to come closer to You, depend on You more deeply, and walk in courage I didn’t know I had.
Cover My Home With Your Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every tension, every unsaid word, every secret worry that’s hiding behind our smiles. Step into our homes with Your peace. Heal broken relationships, soften hard hearts, and restore communication where it’s been shut down. Protect our children and grandchildren—guard their minds, their friendships, and their futures. Strengthen marriages, comfort the single and the lonely, and let every home represented reading this become a small sanctuary where Your presence is welcome. Give us patience, kindness, and wisdom to love one another in a way that reflects Your heart.
Heal My Body And My Emotions
Jesus, You are the Great Physician. I bring my health, my aches, my fatigue, my diagnosis, and even the things doctors can’t quite name. Touch my body from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Bring healing to every cell, system, and organ. Give me discipline to care for my body with rest, movement, and better choices. And Lord, I ask You to heal my inner world too. Calm anxiety, lift depression, break the grip of fear and shame. Where trauma has left deep scars, pour in Your comfort and restore what
