Pastor Rick Warren Daily Devotional – October 12, 2026: Trusting God in the In-Between
If you feel like you’re standing in a hallway between what used to be and what’s not yet, you’re not alone. Many believers across America are walking through transition, uncertainty, and change. Maybe you’re waiting for a breakthrough, an answer, or a fresh start. Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that God sees you in the in-between, and He is closer than your next breath. He has not forgotten you, and the season you’re facing is not wasted when it’s placed in His hands. Let this time become a holy space where your faith grows deeper, your hope stretches wider, and your heart learns again to rest in the One who holds tomorrow.
Scripture Light for a Waiting Heart
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse pulls us away from the illusion that we must figure everything out. God doesn’t ask you to have all the answers; He asks you to trust Him with all your heart. To “submit” your ways means you invite God into every decision, every worry, every unknown. As you release control, He promises to guide your steps, even when the road ahead is foggy. His straight path may not be the easiest route, but it is always the safest one, because His wisdom never fails.
Choosing Faith Over Fear in Everyday Moments
Trusting God is not just for Sunday mornings; it’s for Monday emails, school drop-offs, medical reports, and late-night bills. When your mind runs in circles, pause and breathe the name of Jesus. Speak Scripture over your worries. Instead of rehearsing what could go wrong, intentionally remember what God has already brought you through. Keep a small list on your phone of answered prayers and past victories. When fear rises, read it aloud. Let your car, your kitchen sink, or your office desk become an altar where you whisper, “Lord, I trust You with this.” That simple habit turns ordinary moments into sacred opportunities for growth and intimacy with God.
Prayer for Faith That Stands Firm
Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my doubts, questions, and disappointments to You. Strengthen my faith so it does not rise and fall with my circumstances. Teach me to trust Your heart when I can’t trace Your hand. Help me to love Your Word, to listen for Your voice, and to follow Your leading even when it stretches me. Grow in me a faith that stands firm when the winds of fear and discouragement blow. Let my relationship with You deepen daily so that my first reaction is prayer, not panic; worship, not worry; surrender, not control.
Prayer Covering My Home and Relationships
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Bring peace into our home and calm into every tense conversation. Heal old wounds, soften hard hearts, and teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us. Protect marriages, restore broken relationships, and draw prodigal sons and daughters back to Your arms. Let our home be a place where Your presence is welcome, Your name is honored, and Your love is clearly felt. Give us patience with one another, kindness in our words, and unity in our decisions. Guard our home from division, confusion, and strife, and replace them with joy, understanding, and compassion.
Prayer for Health, Healing, and Emotional Peace
God of all comfort, I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. For every pain, symptom, diagnosis, and silent fear, I ask for Your healing touch. Strengthen my immune system, restore what is broken, and bring balance where there is disorder. Calm my anxious thoughts and quiet the inner noise that keeps me awake at night. Let Your peace guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Give wisdom to every doctor, nurse, and caregiver involved in my life or in the lives of those I love. Help me to care for my body as Your temple—with rest, good choices, and a heart of gratitude for each new day You give.
Prayer for Work, Finances, and Daily Provision
Jehovah Jireh, my Provider, I surrender my work and finances to You. Bless the work of my hands, whether I’m in an office, a classroom, a job site, or serving at home. Open doors that
