Lisa Harper Daily Devotional – October 14, 2026
If your heart feels a little tired today, you are not alone. Maybe you’re carrying the weight of unanswered prayers, financial pressure, health concerns, or tension in your relationships. As you read this, pause for just a moment and breathe. The God who sees every detail of your life is here, right now, leaning toward you with compassion and hope. This devotional is an invitation to rest your heart in His presence, to let His Word speak louder than fear, and to remember that even on ordinary Wednesdays, God is writing a holy story with your life.
Anchored by a Promise
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) In a world that changes by the hour—stock markets, job security, politics, even friendships—this verse stands like solid rock under our feet. Jesus does not shift with the culture or waver with your emotions. The same Savior who calmed storms, healed the broken, and welcomed the outcast is the One who holds you today. His character is steady when your circumstances are not. When anxiety whispers, “What if everything falls apart?” this verse answers, “Your Savior never will.” Let this promise be the frame around your entire day: whatever comes, Jesus remains faithful, powerful, and fiercely loving toward you.
Walking Through Today With Steady Faith
Faith is rarely about feeling strong; it’s about choosing where you lean. You may not have all the answers, but you can decide where you place your weight—on your own understanding or on God’s unchanging heart. Today, choose simple, practical acts of trust: whisper a quick prayer before you open your email, thank God for one small blessing in the middle of a hard moment, or pause to ask, “Lord, what do You want me to see here?” Spiritual growth does not usually come through grand gestures; it grows through daily, ordinary obedience. As you keep turning your thoughts toward Him, you’ll find that fear loosens its grip and hope begins to rise.
Father, Grow My Faith
Lord, I bring You my doubts, my questions, and the places where my faith feels thin. Teach me to trust You more deeply than I trust my feelings or my plans. Strengthen my spirit so that I do not crumble when life feels unpredictable. Holy Spirit, help me hunger for Your Word, not as a religious duty, but as the daily bread of my soul. When I am tempted to pull away, draw me closer. When I feel weak, remind me that Your power is made perfect in weakness. Grow in me a steady, resilient faith that looks to Jesus first and refuses to give up, because You never give up on me.
Lord, Bless My Home and My People
God, I lift my family and loved ones to You—every spouse, child, parent, sibling, and friend resting on my heart. Bring peace into our homes where there has been tension. Heal misunderstandings and soften hard places. Teach us to speak words that build up instead of tear down. Cover our marriages, our parenting, and our friendships with Your wisdom and patience. Protect those far from You and draw them back by Your kindness. Let our homes be places where Your presence is felt in laughter around the table, in honest conversations, and in quiet forgiveness offered again and again.
Healing Hands Over My Body and Mind
Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I invite You into every part of my health. Touch my body where there is pain, sickness, or fatigue. Strengthen my immune system, my energy, my sleep, and my ability to think clearly. For any medical tests, medications, or treatments, I ask for Your wisdom and favor. Guard my emotional well-being—lift anxiety, depression, and heaviness. Replace them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help me care for this body as a temple of Your Spirit, making wise choices, resting well, and refusing the lie that I am alone in my struggle. You are with me, healing and sustaining me day by day.
God in My Work and Finances
Father, I place my career, my work, and my finances into Your capable hands. For those looking for a job, open doors that no one can shut. For those feeling stuck, bring new ideas, courage, and fresh opportunities. Bless the work of my hands—whether I’m at a desk, on a job site, in a classroom, at home with kids,
