Kathryn Kuhlman – Daily Devotional for October 16, 2026

As this new day unfolds, pause for a moment and quiet your heart. Maybe you woke up carrying worries about your health, your kids, your marriage, your job, or the future of our nation. God sees it all. He knows every question you’re afraid to ask out loud. Today, inspired by the legacy of Kathryn Kuhlman’s simple yet powerful trust in the Holy Spirit, we’re turning our eyes away from fear and back to the God of miracles—big and small. You don’t have to be a famous evangelist to walk closely with Him; you just need a willing heart, a whispered “Yes, Lord,” and a desire to believe that He is still moving in your life today.

Anchored in the Living Word

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) This verse is a steady anchor in a changing world. The Jesus who saved you is the same Jesus who still heals, restores, and provides. Kathryn Kuhlman often reminded people that the Holy Spirit is a Person—gentle, real, and present. When you read Hebrews 13:8, you’re not just reciting a religious line; you’re standing on a living promise. Your circumstances shift, feelings fluctuate, but Christ remains constant. His character does not weaken with time; His power does not expire. Whatever you face on this October 16, 2026, you can lean on the unchanging heart of Jesus who knows your story from beginning to end and is not intimidated by your need.

Faith for the Ordinary Moments

We sometimes imagine faith as something that happens on big stages or in crowded auditoriums, but most miracles begin in ordinary moments—washing dishes, driving to work, folding laundry, answering emails. Kathryn would often say, “It’s not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit.” That means God wants to step into your normal Tuesday, your daily commute, your quiet living room. Today, talk to Him as you go. Whisper a prayer in the grocery aisle. Invite the Holy Spirit into that tense meeting. Ask Jesus to soften your words and brighten your attitude. Faith grows when we deliberately include God in the tiniest details—not just in emergencies. Make a decision: “Lord, I’m not walking through this day alone. I welcome You into every conversation, every decision, every thought.”

Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my heart to You just as it is—tired in some places, hopeful in others. Increase my faith today. Pull me closer than I’ve ever been. Holy Spirit, I surrender my plans, my timelines, my expectations. Lead me into deeper obedience and greater trust. Teach me to recognize Your voice above the noise of my worries. Break every pattern of doubt that keeps me from stepping out in obedience. Strengthen my spirit to believe that You are truly working behind the scenes, even when I cannot see the evidence yet. Grow in me a love for Your presence, a hunger for Your Word, and a boldness to follow wherever You lead.

Placing Our Families in His Hands

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our home with Your peace. Heal what is broken in our relationships—unspoken hurts, misunderstandings, and long-standing tensions. Give us the courage to forgive and the humility to apologize. Draw each member of my family closer to Jesus. Protect our children and grandchildren from confusion, fear, and deception. Let Your presence fill our house so strongly that anyone who walks through the door senses Your comfort and love. Restore marriages, strengthen single parents, and comfort those who feel alone. Be the center of our home, our conversations, and our decisions.

Healing for Body, Mind, and Emotions

Jesus, You are the Great Physician. Today I bring to You every ache, diagnosis, and hidden pain. Touch my body with Your healing power. Bring strength to my bones, clarity to my mind, and rest to my nervous system. Where there is chronic pain, let there be relief. Where there is anxiety, pour out Your calm. Where there is depression, breathe new hope. I pray also for my loved ones who are sick or struggling. Let Your healing presence surround hospital rooms, nursing homes, bedrooms, and doctor’s offices. Remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and teach us to honor You with wise choices, healthy rhythms, and trust instead
