If you can’t do what’s right, whether you feel like it or not, then you’re really never gonna have victory in your life because I do what I do because I’ve seen god’s power transform my own life, and he will do it for you.
The key to everything is found in god’s word.
I’m Joyce Meyer, and I believe that I can hear you everywhere you heard.
This morning, um, I want to preach a message called has your get up and go got up and gone.
You know, we all feel like that sometimes, don’t we?
It’s like, really, no matter what you do, I don’t care if you’re a movie star, a famous singer, a janitor, a pastor, an office worker, whatever it is, a stay at home mom, sometimes you just get tired of doing what you’re doing.
Come on. Don’t you? Well, you know, you don’t even really need to feel bad about that.
That’s just human nature. And it’s usually a sign that you need to either have a little attitude adjustment.
Or maybe you just need to take a break, do a little something else, get refreshed, and, I’m very diligent and disciplined about my time with god and my bible study, and Do it every morning, first thing.
And last week, I had 2 days Monday Tuesday, I just didn’t wanna do it.
I tried to read the Bible.
I just was like it was like Nothing was making any sense.
I talked to the lord, but I didn’t really feel like going through my regular routine.
And you know, I didn’t feel bad about that.
There would have been a time when I would have felt really bad about it, but sometimes you just need to take a little break and then you come back and Things are fresh again.
Now if you can’t stand what you’re doing all the time, then that may be a sign that you’re doing the wrong thing.
That maybe you need to make a change and do something else.
But I believe that one of our biggest issues is we depend way too much on emotion.
And, uh, it’s really spiritual immaturity to depend so much on how you feel because If you can’t do what’s right, whether you feel like it or not, let me say it again.
If you can’t do what’s right, whether you feel like it or not, then you’re really never gonna have victory in your life because the devil can will and delight to play with how we feel.
Somebody asked me few years back. How do you feel?
How do you feel about all the traveling that you do? And I thought about it for a minute.
I said, you know what? I haven’t asked myself in a long time.
Sometimes we need to stop asking ourselves how do I feel about this and just go beyond that and do what you know you ought to be doing.
I don’t, you know, I’m not crazy about staying in hotels. I mean, some of them are nice.
The one here is nice, but I’ve stayed in ones that aren’t so nice, and and, uh, aren’t maybe the cleanest in the world, and nothing I hate worse in a hotel that is just real damnly lit.
You know, it’s like, what do you just not you want us not to see ourselves, or or you want us not to see how dirty the room is, or or what’s the problem, but I want you to listen to me no matter what you do, no matter what people you’re involved with, no matter what church you go to, no matter who you’re married to, you’re always gonna have some things that you don’t care for.
That’s part of life.
So we can’t focus on what we don’t like because if we do, we’re gonna be in big, big, big trouble.
But you focus on the whole. I’m not crazy about some parts.
Of what I do. I mean, I’ve been doing this 45 years, and, you know, to be honest, sometimes I get tired of asking for money.
I mean, you think you get tired of hearing it while you ought to be on the other end of it.
You need to be the one that has to stand up in front of people and ask for it all the time.
That’s why when you’re in church and somebody receives an offering, you need to smile at them.
You need to be happy because it’s not the easiest thing in the world, but I can’t have a ministry like this and not have money.
And I can’t go out and make enough money to do it, so I have no choice But to ask for it, well, it’s not it’s not the part I love the most, but I love what I’m doing.
You see, to do anything, I want you to get this to do anything to be married to anybody.
There’s gonna be parts of it that you don’t like.
One time I had got to focus on everything that was wrong with Dave.
I know you all think he’s perfect, but he’s not. He’s close, but he’s not.
And, God told me to make a list, put on my heart, make a list, write down everything about Dave, you don’t like, and everything you do.
And I tell you what, I got over my problem real quick because the things I liked was so much longer.
And I believe somebody here today needs to hear that because you’ve been focusing too much on the wrong thing.
What’s wrong with your kid? What’s wrong with your job? What’s wrong with your church?
What, you know, what’s wrong with you?
You know, you don’t even need focus on everything’s wrong with you all the time. You’re changing.
God’s changing you. And the Bible says that we are to focus on the positive things in life.
The only people who succeed are those who can do what they know they should do without excitement to motivate them.
It’s more fun when it’s exciting.
I feel pretty excited this morning, but I don’t know.
You know, maybe 3rd the way through the year.
I I might not feel quite as excited because I will have done it a number of times.
You know, I always say there’s a beginning, and that’s always excited.
The beginning of any new thing is exciting, isn’t it? It just kinda comes with the package. We’re excited.
And boy, if you ever make it to the end, And I say if, loudly, if you ever make it to the end, that’s exciting.
Man, I finished it. But there’s a middle.
And it’s only the people that can make it through the middle that make it to the end.
Some of you need to hear this this morning.
You know, people in the public eye wanna be normal and normal people wanna be well known.
One day I was in the grocery store. Ladies sees me.
What are you doing in here?
I said, well, believe it or not, I eat like everybody else does.
You know, when when you’re in the public eye, I think especially when you’re in some kind of a spiritual field feel people think you just float around on a cloud all day, sing the hallelujah course, you know, we do.
What everybody else does, have all the same things that everybody else has.
And, you know, sometimes you get a little bit Tired of it.
I remember being in the bathroom one time, and I was actually sitting.
I was in the stall, sitting on the toilet, The lady next to me says, can I have a picture?
I said, thought, well, I hope not here, you know, maybe you can wait till we get out of the stall to do that.
So god wants us to be full of zeal and enthusiastic.
He likes fire. Fiery people.
And, you know, how how do we expect to get anybody else excited about Jesus If we don’t have a little bit of enthusiasm, and, you know, you haven’t lived until you’re doing a service and everybody you look at looks like they’re dead.
I mean, you you need to.
I remember one time I got invited to a it was a denominational church and I don’t know.
There was maybe thirty people there. And, I mean, it looked like I was doing a funeral.
I mean, they were it was a religious church, and they weren’t probably used to women preaching and weren’t used to.
Excited people like me.
And when when we got done, Dave said, I do not know how you did that.
And it just makes me mad when people are like that.
I just kinda roll up my spiritual sleeves and think I’m gonna make you happy whether you want a beer or not.
You’re gonna be happy. Nothing dead praises the lord. The Bible says.
Psalm 11517. It is not the dead who prays the lord, neither those who go down into silence.
Don’t have a dead attitude. Don’t be what I call part of the walking dead.
You know, he just, like Jesus said, whitewashed tombs full of dead men’s bones.
I mean, if anybody should be happy, it should be us. Right?
And I think that’s one of the calling cards.
One of the ways that we can draw people to Jesus is through having a consistently good attitude and through joy and through peace, not getting upset about what everybody else gets upset about.
And Beenjoyful. Now that doesn’t mean you have to go around giggling all the time or, you know, being like, you know, so it excited.
Y’all wanna be like the salesman who was enthusiastic.
It was his first day on the job selling vacuum sweepers, and he was just, oh, he was so excited and He rang this first doorbell, and he was so excited.
He pushed right past the lady and rushed into her home, and he took this black plastic bag out, and he dumped these cow droppings all over her floor.
And he said, A lady, if I cannot get all that cleaned up with this vacuum, I will eat it.
She said, would you like ketchup with it or chili sauce?
And he he looked kinda stunned, and he said, why would you ask that?
She said, because there’s no electricity in this house.
Sometimes you can be a little bit too enthusiastic and get yourself in trouble.
You don’t think about what you’re doing. Romans 1211 says never lag in zeal.
And in earnest endeavor be a glow and burning with the spirit.
Now I’m not asking you to giggle all the time, but we can all smile.
Let’s try it right now. Smiling.
But that’s it just brings the whole atmosphere in the room up about a notch.
You know, we really do need to learn to smile more in life. You know, it’s amazing.
If you smile at people, they will generally smile back.
And if we need anything in this world, we need some joy because everything out there is negative and pulling everything down And you know what?
The job of doing the right thing is ours. You cannot expect the centers to do the right thing.
They don’t even know how to. So we have to come up higher.
We are living in a very unique time in history, and you’re not here by accident.
God has chosen you for this time slot in history, and every one of you are called into ministry.
Man? The people who need to be here this morning probably wouldn’t step foot inside this place.
But you work next to them, you live next to them, and you don’t even necessarily have to preach the gospel to them.
You just have to live the life, you you don’t you you go out and be what you’re supposed to be.
Amen? So let’s get a little more excited.
And if you’re grumpy about something that, you know, you don’t like in your life, well, let me tell you something.
Everybody’s got things in their life. They don’t really care for.
You need cautions 32324 says whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the lord, not for a human master.
When you go to work in the morning, you need to say, god, I’m going to do this for you.
When you get dressed in the morning, you said, Lord, I’m getting dressed for you.
I what do you want me to wear today?
I mean, some people would dress a little better if they thought about the fact they were doing it.
For the lord. Sometimes I sometimes I think, do you not own a mirror?
You did not even begin to look at yourself in the mirror this morning. You know?
You know, you don’t need to throw things in the dryer, leave them laying the dryer all night and get the morning and put them on and go somewhere.
Use a little bit of common sense.
Since you know that you will receive an comes from the lord as your reward. It’s Christ.
You’re serving. And we don’t just serve god by being an usher at church or by volunteering for a mission’s trip, everything we do, god’s interested in, and we serve him in everything that we do.
And you can be a lot happier about what you’re doing, even the parts of it you don’t like, if you will live with that thought in mind, I’m doing this for the lord.
I’m not doing it for man. I’m doing it for the lord.
And whatever we do for god God will always reward us at the right time in our life. Amen?
Have great expectations for your future.
If you’re gonna have a dream, don’t have a little and have a big one.
Doesn’t take any more energy to have a big dream than it does a little dream.
You don’t have to wait to feel it.
You can decide to have it. I’m believing for great things this year.
The word god gave me for our ministry for this year is increase your faith.
And I thought You want me to believe for more? I mean, we’re so blessed.
We’re doing so much around the world, and But I’ve even had a word from a prophet that ministers to me.
Don’t even start to think you’re done yet. Because you’re not.
And, you know, god doesn’t want any of us to Sometimes when you’ve been doing something a long time, even even like your marriage, Dave and I’ve been married 54 years.
Okay. Well, you know, oh, rock 56 years. I’m sorry.
Say I don’t even know how long I’ve been married.
Uh, and we are probably having more fun now than we’ve ever had because both of us have a hearing issue.
And the most frequent word spoken in our house is What?
I think now Dave says what, even if he does hear me, has just become a habit.
Well, we’re both going to See about it. Hearing device next week. We’ll see how that turns out.
He’s got a hearing aid, but he won’t wear it because he’d want something on the outside of his ear because Dave don’t wanna look old.
He’s gonna be 83 in July, and he doesn’t wanna look at.
Of course, I’m only gonna be 49 in June as a married, a much younger woman, but The other night, I don’t know why, but I came I got up to go to the bathroom and I came back.
I just felt kind of feisty, so I kicked him.
And he kicked me back, and I kicked him.
And I laughed. I said, you’re 83, and I’m about to be 80.
And I said, here we are kicking each other in bed.
Well, you know, you need to don’t Don’t get dull about it just because you’ve been doing it for a long time.
Do you hear me? Don’t just settle into some. Yes.
You know, I’ve looked at your face, but as long as I can stand it.
You need to you you need to do things to keep yourself stirred up.
And a lot of that has to do with your thinking.
It has to do with and you can think things on purpose You need to think about how blessed you are.
You know what? Well, I hate to go to the grocery store.
Well, do you wanna eat Yeah. I oh, man. I gotta clean house. I hate to clean house.
Well, do you want a house to live in?
I mean, a lot of you that constantly find something wrong with the person you’re married to, there’s lonely people that don’t even have anybody to eat with that would love to take them off your hands.
Amen? You know, I believe that attitude makes us or breaks us.
Did you hear what I said?
You you can be talented I mean, very talented and have a bad attitude, and you’re gonna fail in life.
And you can be not as talented, but have a great attitude and you’ll succeed in life.
So you don’t have to worry if you’re here today and you don’t have as much education as somebody else you don’t feel like you’re quite as smart as somebody else.
You you can make up for all that with just having the greatest attitude.
You know, be the person on your job that gets there a little bit early and stays a little bit late.
It’s always willing to do the extra thing that needs to be done. And be thankful. My goodness.
Be thankful. You know, when you’re get up and goes, got up and gone, you got the doldrums, just think about how blessed how blessed you are.
I one of the greatest examples I can think of about enthusiasm is the first time I went to India The first place they took me was to a leper colony.
We were gonna be feeding the people that day.
And, One of the lepers, part of his finger’s gone, part of his toe’s gone.
You know, they got it rough.
I mean, they just nobody has anything to do with them, and it’s a very easily treatable disease, but they don’t know that.
So they just do it the old way.
And one of the lepers came over to me, and he was so excited.
He said, I want you to come and see my new house.
And so I went with him and his new house that he was excited about was a hole dug out of the side of a hill.
So all the walls on the floor was dirt, And the only thing in it was a hammock that he slept in.
And over here in this corner was 2 or 3 dented pots and pans, and a couple of old beat up dishes.
And he was more excited than a lot of Christians that I see that have big houses and 3 cars and great jobs and a wonderful church to go to and a pillow top mattress to sleep on every night.
Come on. We need to get over ourselves and be it.
I mean, we need to be overboard to pre ship it. Come on. Thankful.
Psalm 100 verse 4. Be thankful and say so.
Thank god and thank the people in your life that make a difference for you.
I mean, I have so many people that help me.
They’re I remember when I used to have to deal with everything, I remember sitting at a standard, not electric, standard typewriter, answering my own male at the ministry and doing the hiring and doing the firing.
And, you know, the man sitting down here next today pastor Michael Shepherd. He’s our staff pastor.
And one of his jobs, which I have gladly given him, is conflict resolution.
He deals with all the babyish people in the ministry that wanna not get along and find goofy things to get mad about.
You know, when you get older, you’re gonna look back and you’re gonna remember the silly things you got mad about and you’re gonna think what a waste of time that was?
And then? And maybe you need that word right now.
Maybe somebody here this morning and you got your nose out of joint because of something that you don’t like.
Well, think about what you do like. You know, wait.
The word wait to wait on god It’s such an interesting word because it doesn’t mean to just sit around and go, well, I hope y’all does something sometime.
I’m waiting the word weight means to expect to expect.
And and what do you do with your imagination?
What do you What do you see for yourself for the future?
Do you think that things are never gonna change in your life, or are you believing God, that things are gonna change.
The worst thing that you can ever do is to look at somebody and say you are never gonna change.
Don’t ever say that to your kids, and don’t say that to the person you’re married to because god can change anybody at any time.
I doubt the apostle Paul who was then Saul was expecting to meet Jesus on the road to Damascus.
He didn’t deserve a visitation from god, but he got one because god had a plan for his life.
Hey, man? What are you what are you expecting? Think about it.
And I think one of the reasons why god said to me, increase your faith, and I’ve had somebody tell me that they’ve heard 2 other pastors say the same thing that god told them to increase their faith for this year.
Do you know that you do not get anything from god except by faith.
So are you just sitting around and waiting to see what god’s gonna do, or are you actively pressing in with your faith and believing god to do great things in your life.
I want you to think about it this morning. What are you expecting?
Have big expectations.
You say, well, what if I expect great things and they don’t happen?
Well, what if you expect great things and they do?
I’d rather believe for a lot and get half of it than to believe for a little and get all of it.
Dream big dreams, bold prayers. Psalm 271314 says. What?
What would have happened to me?
Had I not believed that I would see the lord’s goodness in the land of the living?
Thank god. We don’t have to wait till we go to heaven to see good things.
We can see good things right now. In our life.
And and it this is this has really helped me, you know, because I’ve been doing this a long time.
You know, the longer you do something, sometimes the more tempted you are to get tired of doing it.
Is that true? Something you can be very excited about in the beginning.
You do it 40 years, and then you’re like, But it has really helped me in the past 2 or 3 years to just expect god every day.
I expect every day God to do something amazing and shocking.
I’ve told god I wanna live with my mouth hanging open and all, like, Come on.
I walked in here this morning.
We got out of the car out in the garage, and we were pulling in.
I said to Mike, I said, you know what? I wanna help every single person on the planet.
Wouldn’t that be good? Well, why not have big dreams? You said, well, that’s impossible.
Well, nothing’s impossible with god. Our television program is broadcast in a 106 languages in about 2 thirds of the world.
Now, you know, I don’t think 2 thirds of the world’s listening, but there’s gotta be few 1000000.
You know, and lives are being changed through the work, but I could have believed to help 3 Maybe I would’ve only got 2.
I’m believing for all. We haven’t made it yet, but we’re on our way.
And so I on purpose, I don’t do it every day.
Some days I forget, but almost every day. I will say out loud.
I’m expecting something good to happen to me today.
And I’m expecting something good to happen through me today.
Don’t just want good things for yourself but want god to use you to do good things for other people.
Every day, ask yourself What can I do for somebody else today?
What do I have that I can give away? I love to give.
Do not ever get mad at anybody in church for talking to you about giving.
Everywhere you go, they talk to you about giving.
If you go eat out after church, The time is gonna come when they’re gonna come to your table and talk to you about giving.
And you’re not gonna get mad about it. You’re gonna expect it.
The only place where people get mad about it is in church, and that doesn’t make any sense.
Well, the gospel’s free. Well, the pipeline that carries it is not. Amen?
It is not good for you to do nothing.
I just wonder if we acted like Paul did.
You know, he told the Corinthians that he sent somebody ahead of time to tell them to get ready for the offering.
So when he got there, They already had it ready.
Now I wonder how you would have acted if last week, you would have got a phone call.
Alright. Come on. Think about this.
If last week, you would have got a phone call, you know, Joyce Joyce is gonna be at Lakewood next Sunday, and So bring a little extra because they’ll give her a nice offering when she leaves.
And you you would have thought, well, you know, what are you doing calling me asking me for money before I ever even get there?
But Paul did. He said, I sent somebody ahead of time to have you get ready for the offering that we were gonna send to help the poor and wherever it was, Macedonian error or wherever.
And so there’s a lot of things that we’re losing sight of that we need to make sure we don’t lose track of.
So I’m just telling you, everybody, unless you do all your giving one time of the month here or something, but You don’t need to walk out of here today and do nothing.
And I’m not getting the offering, so I can be bold and say whatever I want to.
You don’t you don’t need to walk out. And do nothing.
And probably a lot of you don’t, but there are people who do.
And I’m just saying, how many of you believe it’s not good for you to just take everything and do nothing?
It’s too easy to forget.
Wait and hope for and expect the lord.
Be brave and of a good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring.
Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the lord. I love it.
Things you can expect If you’re in relationship with people that need to change, expect it to happen.
Expect more opportunities, more open doors.
Every time you go out, expect favor. You know how cool favor is?
Man, it’s just it’s exciting to watch god just give you favor and somebody treats you special for no reason at all.
And you know there’s no reason for them to do it that it’s gotta be God doing it.
Little things, like you go shopping and, uh, clerical say, do you have the 40% off coupon that was in the paper?
No. I don’t have it. Well, let me see if I can find one for you.
They don’t have to do that. You’re getting favor from god.
Expect to see god doing outrageous things in your life.
Expect healing if you have health problems.
Don’t expect to be sick all the time.
I’m expecting a healthy, pain free year. Amen?
I don’t like the word disease, and they tell me I’ve got degenerating disc disease in my back.
Well, I say I’ve got regenerating I refuse to get afraid.
You know, the thought comes, well, I mean, what’s that gonna be like in 4 or 5 years?
I you know, god will keep me up and going as long as he wants me to do what I am doing.
Amen? Call things that be not as if they already are, don’t call things that are as if they’re always gonna be that way.
This is never gonna change. Never gonna change.
You know, Timothy’s get up and go had got up and gone, and Paul wrote to him in 2nd Timothy 16, and he said, I’m reminding you to stir up, rekindle the embers of fan the flame and keep burning the gracious gift of god, they inner fire that’s in you by means of the laying one of my hands with those of the elders at your ordination.
So You know, sometimes we sit around and wait for somebody else to start us up.
We expect somebody else to get us excited. David said he encouraged himself in the lord.
Sometimes you just gotta encourage yourself. You know, I’ve I’ve written 143 books, I think.
And, you know, the the devotionals are the hardest for me.
365 devotions is a lot of devotions.
And they end up being close to 90,000 words.
And I’ve written a bunch of them.
But the thing that’s funny about it, and you can’t get mad at people for this because I can tell you nobody truly understands what anybody else is doing.
Doctor Paul goes to Africa 3, 4 months at a time, and You know, I’m sure we all.
Uh, we think that’s so nice, but there’s not one of us here that knows what that’s like.
And I’ve talked to him about it, and he’s just so happy to do it. He loves it.
God can make you he can give you the grace to love things that don’t make any sense at all if you’re supposed to be doing it.
I couldn’t wait to get back out on the road.
Because I’ve been doing that all my life, but here’s what’s funny.
I can finish a devotional or 60,000 word book or whatever, and I’ll say to my family or somebody around, I finished my book That’s nice.
Sometimes I wanna like, that’s nice. Do you have any idea?
Well, I mean, could we have a little more enthusiasm and then that’s nice?
You know, mom cooks. She goes to the grocery store.
She gets it all. She cooks. She makes a nice table.
Everybody sits down and in 15 minutes they’ve eaten what took her all day to cook.
They leave the mess and go outside to play and The guy goes to watch a football game, and nobody says great, great job, mom.
Thanks for cooking. Come on. We we need to start building each other up a little bit more.
Think about what people are doing and what it’s taking them to do it.
Well, I’m having fun anyway.
Start one another up Hebrews 10.
So let us consider and give tentive, continuous care to watching over one another.
Listen to this. Studying how we may stir up stimulate and insight to love and helpful deeds and noble activities.
Let’s just say that you hear that somebody at your place of business, this actually happened one time in our office.
Somebody told me so and so had moved into a new apartment, and they didn’t have a lot of money.
And they hadn’t been able to buy a bed yet, so they were sleeping on a mattress.
On the floor. And what do what do we normally say?
I’ll pray for you. Really?
Why don’t you buy them a bat? Why don’t you buy them a bed?
Well, one man’s clapping.
You say, well, I don’t have the money to buy them a bed.
Okay. Then get with some other people and do what that scripture says and stir them up So a whole bunch of you contribute.
Do you know how much happier we would be?
If we would stay busy having a purpose, Dick Van Dyke in his nineties said, When you’re older, there’s 2 things you have to have if you wanna be happy, a purpose and somebody’s love.
You know what? A lot of people get depressed. They don’t have a purpose.
And there’s no excuse for not having a purpose.
There’s too many people that are hurting.
And I’m not bragging when I say this, but I flat out absolutely love to give things to people.
I listen to what people say when they tell me they want or need something, if I can make it happen, I’ll make it happen.
One friend of ours has got a little business and through that business, they met a a widow lady who owns her own little house, but she was gonna have to give it up because she didn’t have the money to pay the real estate taxes every year.
And so he just got on the phone and called a bunch of us and ask if we would he didn’t have the money to do it all himself and ask if he would we would contribute toward that So now every year her taxes are paid, she doesn’t have to live in fear that she’s gonna lose her house.
Stur each other up.
Isn’t that much better than getting together and gossiping over lunch? About everything you don’t like.
Why not just say to somebody, why don’t we go get some coffee and just talk about ways we could bless people?
Come on. You ever think about doing that? How how can how can we bless people?
How many people do you think there are in this church every time you come that are needy?
Single moms who can’t ever afford to take their kids out to lunch.
And you could easily Make that happen.
Well, why should I do that? I don’t even know him.
Well, all the better. Good morning. Am I making any sense to anybody?
Second Peters is, I think it right as long as I am in this body to stir you up by way of putting you in remembrance And Paul said, I don’t ever get tired of preaching the same things over and over to you, I’m stirring you up to remembrance.
And, you know, really, that’s all I’m doing this morning.
I’m just stirring you up to get back to stuff that you already know, but maybe have just let go of.
I’m trying to give you a few things you can do this year to have a happier life.
And you’re not gonna have a happier life just because you sit around and wait for somebody else to come along and make you happy.
I’m always amazed about the the man who sat at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years.
I’d say I could work that story into every message and not get tired of it.
This guy 38 years. He had some kind of an infirmity.
And he laid by this pool that everybody else sick people laid around because Once a year, an angel came and start up the waters and whoever first got in the water got a miracle.
And he’d been laying there 38 years, and Jesus came by and said to him, I love this, How long have you been laying there?
38 years, the amplified says in shock of realization, Sometimes we don’t realize how long we’ve been going around the same stupid mountain waiting for somebody else to come along and fix it.
Stop giving somebody else the responsibility for what you ought to be doing yourself.
God told me one time, stop giving Dave the responsibility for your joy.
Someone does anybody understand that?
Well, you’re not making me happy. How about making your own self happy?
And you know how you can do that by making somebody else happy? Come on.
I wanna make sure you heard me.
You know how you can increase your joy, making somebody else happy. Oh, yes.
I’m telling you the truth. What you sow, you will reap.
There’s no reason for a Christian to be bored.
I’m just so bored. Well, then you ain’t doing nothing.
And Jesus said to this man, and I love this in the Amplified Bible.
Are you really serious about getting well.
So I’m just gonna say that to you this morning, whatever kind of problems you’ve got.
Are you really serious about getting over them and getting out of that pit and living the peaceful, joyful life that Jesus died to give you.
Are you really serious if you are you can be free.
Let me tell you, to get over what I went through in my childhood, I had to be serious about getting well.
And you know what this man said to Jesus? And I love this.
Every time Jesus, I tried to get into the pool.
I don’t have anybody to help me.
And somebody else always gets ahead of me. There it is right there.
In 38 years, he can have wiggled over to the edge of that pool.
I mean, you can do a lot of wiggling in 38 years.
And maybe the word of god for you today is wiggle.
Maybe you can’t do it all.
But don’t do nothing because you can’t do everything. Come on.
And Zack Kias, he was a He had a little handicap. He was short.
And he heard Jesus was covered, and he’d heard about Jesus.
And he was a tax collector.
People hated tax collectors because they not only collected the tax, but they tacked on to that money for themselves.
And so they were stealing from people. But he wanted to see Jesus.
He’d heard about Jesus. And so he ran ahead of the crowd.
He knew he couldn’t see over the crowd, so he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a tree.
And when Jesus came by, I think this is so interesting, right where Zaccheus was, he looked up.
Why? Why did he happen to look up just there? Because there was something about Zacias’ spirit.
That drew Jesus to him. Come on.
Jesus likes that determined I’m gonna find a way I’m not gonna sit around and feel sorry for myself.
Come on. And, man, I had to quit feeling sorry for myself because I was abused in my childhood.
God said you can be pitiful or powerful, but you can’t be both.
Come on.
So maybe your answer today’s climate tree.
Wiggle a little in Climate Tree.
