Courage to Trust: Craig Groeschel Daily Devotional for October 27, 2026
If you woke up today feeling a little stretched, a little tired, or even a little uncertain about what’s next, you’re not alone. God sees you right where you are—in the middle of real pressure, real responsibilities, and real emotions. Today’s devotional is an invitation to exhale, to unclench your heart, and to remember that your Father is not distant, distracted, or disappointed. He is near, aware, and absolutely committed to finishing what He started in you. As you read and pray, let this be more than words on a screen; let it be a moment where your heart and God’s heart meet in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday and something quietly, powerfully changes inside you.
Standing on a Certain Promise
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) These verses speak straight into the tension we feel when life doesn’t make sense. God never asked you to understand everything; He asked you to trust Him in everything. To “lean not on your own understanding” means refusing to let your limited perspective define what God is capable of. As you surrender your plans, fears, and timelines to Him, He goes to work behind the scenes, aligning paths you can’t yet see. Your responsibility is trust. His response is guidance.
Walking With God in the Middle of Real Life
Trusting God is not a one-time decision; it’s a rhythm you practice moment by moment. When the email doesn’t come, when the diagnosis isn’t what you prayed for, when your kids seem distant, or when the bills are stacked higher than your peace—these are the very places where your faith is being formed. Instead of asking, “Why is this happening?” begin asking, “Lord, how can I know You more deeply in this?” Invite God into your commute, your meetings, your parenting, your chores. Whisper a quick prayer before you check your phone. Open your Bible for five minutes before you open social media. Small, consistent steps of obedience create a life anchored in God, not in circumstances.
Breathing In Faith and Letting Go of Fear
Father, today I choose faith over feelings. When worry tries to take over, draw my heart back to Your Word. Teach me to recognize Your voice above all the noise around me. Grow my faith so that I won’t be easily shaken by bad news, delays, or opposition. Deepen my trust so that I don’t just say You are good; I live like I believe it. Strengthen my spirit to keep walking when I feel tired, to keep hoping when outcomes are uncertain, and to keep obeying even when it costs me something. Build in me a faith that endures storms and reflects the steady heart of Jesus.
Grace Over Every Household
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones before You. Cover our homes with Your peace and Your presence. Heal strained relationships, soften hard hearts, and restore conversations where silence has settled in. Protect marriages, comfort single parents, and guide those who feel alone or unseen. Teach us to forgive quickly, to listen with compassion, and to speak words that heal instead of wound. May every living room, kitchen, and bedroom be filled with Your love. Let our families become little reflections of Your kingdom—places of safety, honesty, laughter, and grace.
Strength for Bodies, Minds, and Hearts
Heavenly Father, You know every pain, symptom, diagnosis, and hidden ache. I ask for healing in bodies that are tired, sick, or broken. Bring strength to muscles, clarity to minds, and calm to anxious hearts. Guard us from fear about sickness and aging, and remind us that our lives are in Your hands. For those battling depression, stress, or emotional exhaustion, wrap them in Your gentleness. Renew sleep, restore energy, and fill each day with enough grace for the next right step. Let our health—physical, emotional, and spiritual—be held together by Your faithful care.
God in Our Work and Daily Provision
Lord, I surrender my work, my schedule, and my income to You. Give wisdom for every decision, creativity for every task, integrity in every hidden moment, and favor with bosses, coworkers, and clients. For those looking for jobs, open the right doors and close the wrong ones. For those
