Everyday with Jesus in 2025 (Philippians 3:12-14, Psalm 65:11)

Church family, let’s come together today as we embark on a special New Year’s-themed study. While I had planned to share a message titled The Hanukkah of God—which celebrates the dedication of light and God’s presence—I’ll reserve that for another time. For now, let us focus on a message titled Every Day with Jesus in 2025.

We’ll begin by reading Philippians 3:12-14. I’ll start with verse 12, you’ll continue with verse 13, and I’ll conclude with verse 14. Let’s reflect on these powerful words:

“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.” (Philippians 3:12, NLT)

Paul humbly acknowledges that he hasn’t yet achieved perfection, but he’s committed to moving forward.

“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” (Philippians 3:13, NLT)

Let that sink in—forgetting the past and pressing forward toward what lies ahead.

“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (Philippians 3:14, NLT)

We are called to run the race with perseverance, keeping our eyes on the heavenly prize.

I’d also like to share a verse from Psalm 65:11, which is fitting as we step into the New Year:

“You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.” (Psalm 65:11, NLT)

Reflect on the beauty of this verse. God’s provision is certain, whether it’s an abundant feast or a single morsel of bread. Even in challenging times, God’s grace overflows. Let this promise guide your heart throughout the year.

As we look forward to 2025, remember that every day with Jesus is not a new resolution—it’s a daily commitment we made when we first decided to follow Him. True believers wake up each morning with gratitude, acknowledging God’s hand in their lives. If you’re alive today, it means God has given you another day to live for His glory.

Let us press forward, leaving the past behind—not to deny it, but to surrender it to God. The joys and struggles of the past year are now part of history, held in God’s hands. This New Year is an opportunity to step into God’s plans with renewed faith.

As we close this message, let’s pray together:

Father God, we thank You for the year that has passed. We leave behind its successes and struggles, knowing You hold them in Your care. Holy Spirit, empower us to move forward with confidence and faith. May we live each day with Jesus, committed to glorifying You in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Church family, as you go into 2025, let every moment be a reflection of your commitment to Christ. Wake up each day with the resolve to live for Him, and let’s walk this journey together with faith and love. God bless you all!
