Breaking Free: The Power of God’s Deliverance
Our past is part of who we are, shaping our present. But while the blood of Jesus does not erase our memories, it does offer us a life beyond our past. In Exodus 8:1-15, we see how God demonstrated His power to Pharaoh, calling him to release the Israelites from slavery.
God sent Moses to Pharaoh with a clear message: “Let My people go so they may worship Me.” But Pharaoh refused, and in response, God sent plagues to soften his heart. One of these plagues—frogs—covered the land, invading homes, bedrooms, and even kitchens.
Moses warned Pharaoh that if he did not obey, the plague would continue. When the frogs became unbearable, Pharaoh pleaded for relief. Moses then asked, “When do you want me to pray for their removal?” Shockingly, Pharaoh replied, “Tomorrow.”
This response is crucial. Why would Pharaoh choose to endure the suffering for another night when freedom was available immediately? The question extends to us today:
- What burdens, sins, or struggles are we holding onto?
- What “frogs” have we allowed to stay in our lives when God is ready to set us free?
God sent Jesus to die and rise again so that we could experience true freedom. Yet, like Pharaoh, we often delay our breakthrough, saying, “Tomorrow.” But God’s power to restore and heal is available today.
When Moses prayed, God removed the frogs, but the aftermath was messy—piles of dead frogs filled the land with a terrible odor. Likewise, when we confront our struggles, the process may be uncomfortable, but the reward is worth it.
Pharaoh, despite experiencing God’s power, hardened his heart once relief came. Let us not make the same mistake. Instead of delaying, let’s embrace the freedom God offers now.
Are you ready to let go of the things holding you back? Or will you choose to live with them one more night?
Don’t wait for tomorrow—choose freedom today.
