Steven Furtick Daily Devotional – October 23, 2026

Some days you wake up feeling full of faith, and other days you wake up with more questions than answers. If this morning feels heavy, rushed, or uncertain, you are not alone. God sees you in the middle of real-life pressures—bills, deadlines, family tension, health worries—and He has not stepped back from your story for a single second. Today, let this devotional be a quiet pause where your heart can breathe again, your hope can rise, and your faith can be strengthened. God has you right where He can reach you, speak to you, and lead you forward.

Anchored in the Promise

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV)

This verse is more than a Christian slogan; it is a survival strategy for the soul. God is inviting you away from the exhausting pressure of figuring everything out on your own. When we lean on our own understanding, we carry a weight we were never built to hold. But when we trust in the Lord with our whole heart—especially in the areas that confuse or scare us—He promises to straighten what feels twisted, to make a way where we can’t see a path. Today, your job is not to control the outcome, but to surrender the process.

Living Hope in an Unsteady World

Faith does not mean pretending everything is fine. Faith means believing God is good even when everything is not fine yet. Maybe your timeline has been shattered, or the dream you prayed for looks impossible right now. Even in that place, God is working in ways you cannot see. Ask Him, “Lord, what are You building in me through this?” That question turns your pain into a seed instead of a ceiling.

Practically, choose one area you are worried about today—maybe a child’s future, a medical report, a job situation—and make an intentional exchange. Say, “God, I give You this worry, and I receive Your peace.” Write it down if you need to. Bring it back to mind any time anxiety tries to rise. Trust is not a one-time decision; it’s a daily rhythm of handing things back to God.

Deepening Faith and Daily Surrender

Father, today I bring my doubts, my fears, and my unfinished places to You. Increase my faith where it feels thin. Teach me to lean into Your presence more than my feelings, Your Word more than my worries, and Your character more than my circumstances. Grow in me a trust that does not disappear when life gets loud. Help me to listen for Your whisper in Scripture, in quiet moments, and in the interruptions I didn’t plan.

Lord, I surrender my plans, my timeline, and my expectations. Align my heart with Your will. Show me how to walk by faith in small, practical steps—in the way I talk, in the choices I make, in how I respond to stress. Let today be a day of spiritual growth, where I move from fear to faith, from control to surrender, and from self-reliance to God-dependence. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Covering Our Homes in God’s Peace

God, I lift my family and loved ones to You right now. You know every story, every struggle, every secret burden they carry. I ask You to flood our home with Your peace. Where there has been harshness, bring gentleness. Where there has been distance, bring connection. Heal old wounds and unspoken disappointments. Give us courage to forgive and humility to apologize.

Let Your love be the atmosphere of our home. Protect our marriages, strengthen parents, and cover our children. Surround our loved ones who are far away with Your presence. Let our relationships reflect Your grace, not our perfection. Make our home a refuge where Your name is honored and Your peace rests, even when life outside feels chaotic.

Healing for Body, Mind, and Heart

Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I bring my health and the health of those I love before You. For every diagnosis, give divine wisdom to doctors and supernatural strength to our bodies. Where there is chronic pain, bring relief. Where there is sickness, release healing. Where there is fatigue, restore energy and resilience.

I also pray for emotional and mental health. Calm anxious thoughts, lift depression
