Lisa Harper – Daily Devotional for October 13, 2026
As you step into this new day, pause for a moment and notice your breathing. You are still here. God has carried you through every single yesterday, and He is already standing in your tomorrow. Maybe you woke up with a heavy heart, questions you can’t answer, or a to-do list that feels bigger than your strength. Or maybe today feels hopeful, but you’re afraid the other shoe will drop. Wherever you find yourself, God isn’t waiting for a “better version” of you. He is near right now, ready to meet you in this very moment with mercy, strength, and a fresh reminder that you are deeply loved.
Anchored by a Quiet Promise
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, NIV)
God’s promise here isn’t for people who never struggle, never worry, or never cry. It’s for those who, in the middle of fear and confusion, keep turning their minds back to Him. “Steadfast” doesn’t mean you never waver; it means that every time your thoughts drift to anxiety, you gently bring them back to the Lord. Perfect peace isn’t the absence of trouble; it’s the presence of God right in the middle of it. When your heart is racing and your world feels shaky, this verse invites you to lean your full weight on a God who cannot be moved.
Living Steady in an Unsteady World
Our world feels noisy and uncertain—headlines shift, relationships change, and pressures pile up. Yet, in Christ, you are invited to live from a different center. Today, you can choose to filter your thoughts through God’s promises instead of your fears. When anxiety rises, whisper a short prayer: “Jesus, I trust You more than what I see.” Open your Bible—even if only for a few minutes—and let God’s words shape the way you see your circumstances. Give yourself permission to be in process. Spiritual growth is usually slow and quiet, like roots growing deep underground. Every small moment of trust, every choice to forgive, every act of obedience—even when you don’t feel like it—draws you closer to His heart and strengthens your faith for the long haul.
Drawing Near in Faith and Trust
Lord, today I bring You my faith, as small and fragile as it sometimes feels. Strengthen my belief where doubt tries to creep in. Teach me to trust You in the spaces that don’t make sense yet. I surrender my timeline, my expectations, and my fears about the future. Grow my roots deeper into Your love so I won’t be easily shaken. Help me hunger for Your Word and listen for Your voice in the middle of my daily routines. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that Your grace is enough and Your power works best in my weakness. Shape my desires, purify my motives, and draw me closer to Your heart so that my life reflects Your goodness to everyone around me.
Covering Our Homes with Peace
Father, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every tension, every unspoken hurt, and every need we carry. Bring Your peace into our homes, our marriages, our parenting, and our friendships. Heal misunderstandings and soften hard places in our hearts. Teach us to listen well, speak kindly, and forgive quickly. Guard our loved ones—near and far—with Your protective hand. Let our homes be places where Your presence is felt, where laughter and grace are welcome, and where weary hearts can find rest. Restore broken relationships, rebuild trust where it has been fractured, and knit us together in Your love.
Health, Healing, and Inner Strength
Jesus, You know every ache in our bodies and every silent battle in our minds. I pray for healing—physical, emotional, and spiritual. Touch those who are sick, in pain, or waiting for test results. Give wisdom to doctors and medical teams. Strengthen immune systems, restore energy, and calm anxious thoughts. For those wrestling with depression, fear, or loneliness, wrap them in Your comfort and remind them they are not alone. Replace exhaustion with Your supernatural strength and despair with living hope. Teach us to care for our bodies as Your temples—with rest, wise choices, and grace for ourselves on hard days.
Work, Finances, and Daily Provision
Lord, You see our jobs, our bills, our deadlines, and the pressure we feel to “hold it all
