Pastor Rick Warren Daily Devotional – October 11, 2026
Some mornings you wake up with a quiet ache in your heart that you can’t easily explain. Maybe it’s the weight of responsibilities, the ache of disappointment, or the fear that life is slipping out of your control. As you read this today, know this: God sees you, God is with you, and God has not changed His mind about you. He still has a good purpose for your life. Today’s devotional is an invitation to breathe again, to let go of the pressure to hold everything together, and to rest in the arms of the One who never lets you go. Right where you are—in your kitchen, at your desk, in your car—God wants to meet you and whisper, “I’m not finished with you yet.”
Anchored by God’s Promises
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV) This verse reminds you that spiritual growth is not ultimately your project; it is God’s. You are not a half-finished job He walked away from. Every challenge, delay, or setback is woven into a bigger story. God started something in you the moment you trusted Christ, and He has promised to finish what He began. Even when you feel stuck or discouraged, He is steadily shaping your heart, renewing your mind, and building your character to look more like Jesus. Your confidence is not in your ability to perform but in His faithfulness to complete.
Walking in Hope When Life Feels Heavy
Hope is not pretending everything is fine. Hope is choosing to believe that God is working even when everything isn’t fine. As a follower of Christ in a noisy, divided world, it’s easy to get worn down—by the news, by circumstances, by your own regrets. Yet the Holy Spirit gently calls you back to what is true: you are deeply loved, fully known, and never alone. Today, you can take small but powerful steps of faith—opening your Bible before you open your phone, whispering a prayer before a hard conversation, choosing forgiveness over bitterness, generosity over fear. These simple acts of obedience become doors through which God’s peace and presence enter your everyday life. You don’t need to fix your whole life in one day; you simply need to walk today with Jesus.
Drawing Near in Faith and Trust
Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith to You, just as it is—sometimes bold, sometimes trembling, sometimes weak. Grow my trust in who You are, not just in what You can do for me. Teach me to rest in Your character: Your goodness, Your wisdom, and Your perfect timing. When my mind races with worry, slow me down and center my heart on Your Word. When doubts creep in, remind me that faith is not the absence of questions, but the decision to lean on You in the middle of them. Holy Spirit, stir a fresh hunger for Your presence. Help me love Your voice more than the opinions of people. Father, take my fears, my failures, my disappointments, and use them to deepen my roots in You, so that my trust is not shaken by storms but strengthened through them.
Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every tension, unspoken hurt, and unhealed memory. Pour Your peace into our home like gentle rain over dry ground. Heal broken relationships, soften hardened hearts, and give us the courage to apologize where we’ve wounded each other. Protect our marriages, guard our children, and surround our homes with Your presence. May our conversations be full of grace and truth. Replace criticism with compassion, distance with connection, and anxiety with trust. Let our home be a refuge from the chaos of the world, a place where Your love is felt, Your name is honored, and Your Word is lived out in everyday moments.
Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul
Heavenly Father, I bring my health before You—every ache, every diagnosis, every hidden worry in my mind and heart. You are the God who heals and the One who sustains. Give me strength where I feel weak and energy where I feel drained. Bring healing to sickness, alignment to what is out of order, and peace to my thoughts. Guard me from fear of the future and teach me to care wisely for the body You have entrusted to me. Calm anxiety, lift depression,
