Yet, Scripture reveals a hidden purpose much of what the ungodly amass is ultimately designated for the just. Psalm 73 reminds us of this, highlighting that their evil imaginations and pursuits are empty in comparison to God’s eternal plan.
God uses the world’s system to transfer resources to believers who will steward them for His glory. It’s not about greed or entitlement. Instead, it’s about seizing the opportunities God unlocks freeing resources from the hands of those intent on wickedness, so the kingdom can thrive.
The Blessing Without Toil
Proverbs 10:22 declares, “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.” God’s method of increase supersedes the world’s system of exhaustion, manipulation, or striving. Think of Jacob, laboring under Laban’s deception for 20 years. Despite years of hard work, Jacob only entered abundance when he relied on God’s blessing rather than his own effort or the world’s terms.
Likewise, the world will try to change your “wages” through taxes, circumstances, or obstacles without you even noticing. But when you put your trust in the blessing, God himself guarantees your increase, often in surprising and creative ways. There will come a time where “the wealth of the wicked” is transferred into the hands of those who are righteous, ready, and willing to use it for God’s purposes.
