How many of you get frustrated a lot? Oh my gosh.
Is this for you? You know what frustrates us trying to do something that’s not working?
I do what I do because I seen god’s power transform my own life, and he will do it for you.
The key to everything is found in god’s word I’m Joyce Meyer, and I believe that god can heal you everywhere you hurt.
Today, I’m gonna teach on why god why.
Seems like we spend more time winning and whying than we do anything else.
I don’t understand why that happened.
I don’t understand God why My friend has only been saved 2 weeks, and she’s already had a great Christian man ask her to go out.
And I’ve been serving you for 30 years. I’ve never had a date.
Why god, why don’t you love me? What’s wrong with me?
Uh, I must be ugly. I need to lose weight. I don’t know.
Well, I don’t know what the problem is.
You need to just be saying if I’m supposed to get married, the right guy will come along at the right time.
And in the meantime, I’ve already got my guy Jesus to walk with and to serve and to love.
But why we just we just wanna know stuff, don’t we?
We wanna know when things are gonna happen and we wanna know why they’ve happened the way they’ve happened.
And, you know, it’s now my husband is not the least bit nosy.
I mean, I can I can be talking to someone on the phone about something and and, uh, our our maybe One of my daughters is over and he’s in the room, and I say, can can you go upstairs for a while, Lauren?
I need to talk about something. Well, he’ll never even ask me.
What what would you guys need to talk about?
Well, I mean, I’d be on him like, you know, flies on honey.
Well, what What’d you talk about? Why why couldn’t I be there? Why couldn’t I hear it?
So I could venture to say that I would tend to be a little bit on the nosy side.
And, um, Well, you, you know, you gotta call it what it is before you can change it.
And, uh, so the other day, my daughter called me and she was in the car with one of her kids.
I’m not which one it was, but I think I know. I think I gotta figure it out.
And, um, she started to tell me something, And she said, Oh, wait a minute. I forgot.
I’m not supposed to tell you that.
You’re not supposed to tell me what?
I can’t tell you, well, why can’t you tell me? Well, why did you start it?
And how many of you know how aggravating that would be? You know?
I mean, that that’s like, making a really hungry man sit and watch everybody else eat, and all he could do was smell the food.
You know, she’d stuck it out in front of me and now wasn’t gonna tell me.
Well, it was kind of interesting. Because I found myself.
I kept trying to figure out, and I wonder who who was in the car with her.
And and then a couple of times, I thought, I bet it was this. But that it was that.
You know, it it’s amazing how we settle down when we think we’ve got it figured out.
And most of the time, we still don’t have a clue what’s going on.
We just think we do. We’re satisfied because we think we know but we really don’t know.
I remember when god told me a long time ago, Joyce, you’re not half as smart as you think you are.
You think you got all this stuff figured out and you’re wrong about all of it.
None of it’s gonna work out that way.
Uh, I wonder how much time you spend rotating your mind around and around and around same situation until you think you’ve got it figured out.
And then lo and behold, god surprises you, and it’s totally different than what you ever thought it was gonna be.
So we can save ourselves a lot of time.
But in the midst of this you know, me trying to get beyond this because I determined I was not gonna try to talk her into telling me.
Which was hard enough already. And, um, this thought dropped in my heart.
Being nosy is spiritual immaturity.
And I have a feeling that I know who dropped the thought in my heart.
I don’t think it just kind of fell in there out of the sky.
I think god put that in my heart.
And throughout the day, when I would revert back to thinking I was gonna try to figure this thing out, many of you know what I’m talking about?
We just like, we just can’t stand it if we don’t know.
And I love what the apostle Paul said in 1st Corinthians chapter 2 verse 2.
He said, I am determined to know nothing among you, but Christ and him crucified.
And he said, I’m determined to make a display of the knowledge of nothing.
And boy, do we like to tell people what we know?
But if we can just know and then tell somebody what we know, half the time when somebody’s talking to us, if we’re not careful, We don’t even pay one bit of attention to what they’re saying because we’re already so anxious to tell them what we know.
Well, let let me let me tell you what I know about that.
I had a a friend, her and her husband owned a business, and he was kind of a quiet guy.
He didn’t you know, always have a lot to say. And, uh, but he was pretty wealthy.
So he must have known something.
And, um, I remember one night we were at a party together, and a bunch of people were talking about something that this guy knew a lot about, but he never said a word.
And afterwards, his wife said to him, Why didn’t you tell him what you knew? Now, listen.
He said, I already know what I know.
Why do I need to tell them what I know?
I was trying to listen to find out what they know.
So which is better to listen and gain knowledge or to always be trying to tell everybody what we know one half the time.
We don’t even know what we’re talking about.
So being nosy, is spiritual immaturity.
Now how many of you are nosy? Come on.
I don’t give me one of these things. I wanna I wanna see some hands.
How many of you are are nosy? Okay.
Well, not everybody has their hand up and not everybody is, but more of us are than aren’t.
So while I’m teaching this message today, those of you who are not nosy can just feel sorry for the rest of us who are.
You pray for us. Now god doesn’t want a stupid.
He urges the seeking of knowledge. Proverbs is full of seek knowledge, but he’s talking about spiritual knowledge.
He’s talking about truth and wisdom and things like that that are really gonna add to our life.
He’s not talking about just knowing everybody else’s business and, you know, making sure that there’s nothing going on that you’re not in the know about.
So the Bible tells us that, um, we are not to lean to our own understanding.
Proverbs 35 through 8.
Trust and the lord with all your heart and the amplified Bible says and mind, and I like that.
Trust the lord with all your heart and mind, and do not lean to your own understanding.
In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your path or direct your path.
Be not wise in your own eyes.
Fear the lord and turn away from evil. Now watch this.
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshments to your bones. Wait a minute.
If I stop trying to figure things out, it’s gonna promote healing in my life.
Well, according to that, it is. And you know why?
Because all this reasoning and trying to figure everything out causes a bunch of other things that we’re gonna talk about here in just a little bit, and they all bring stress and stress brings anxiety.
And I definitely believe that just being a worrier and trying to figure things out all the time and trying to make sure you’re in the know on everything.
I think that that’s one of the reasons why we have so much stress today we’ve actually got too much knowledge about things that we don’t really need to know anything about.
I mean, how much, excuse me, junk do you read on Facebook?
I mean, really, who cares what ant pill he had for breakfast. I don’t.
You know? I mean, some of the stuff that people put on Facebook like, really?
You think somebody cares about that? Yeah.
But man, we get so frantic if we get away from that phone for 5 seconds on my phone.
Where’s my phone? Gotta find my phone?
And I know you’ve been like me, you’ve run all over the house looking for your phone while you’re talking on Oh, yeah.
You know, I’m getting a little bit older now, and you do some strange things.
The other night, I started to go to bed and I went and got my purse and took it with me.
I’m just like, oh, well, I seem to know what I need to know when I get up here.
So you know, we’ll leave it at that.
But, you know, you get you get on Facebook and you read something bad about somebody else.
Somebody’s gossiping or telling tales, and we don’t even know that it’s true.
And most of the time, it’s not.
And then if we have no spiritual maturity, we’ll pass it on to somebody else like it is true.
Oh, did you read? Oh, I see.
And we think anything we see in the news or on Facebook is true. It’s just amazing.
The lies that people can tell today and get by with it, and there’s no repercussion.
And that’s one of the things that has changed in America. That’s not good.
And I let me just tell you, don’t believe everything you read.
Can you just think just for a minute?
I feel like we might be able to get it right now.
Can you just think about how much peace you would have if you just stop trying to figure everything out.
Go on. Just just tell you about 2. Just Oh my gosh.
Some of you just think too much.
Always got your mind rotating around something.
It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones A lot of frustration comes from trying to do things that aren’t working because god’s not in him, because we never even asked him if it was the right thing to do, And now we’re trying to figure out why nothing’s working.
If god’s in something, he’ll make it work.
Now, You know, a lot of times you feel like this, at least I have, like, well, if the devil would just get out of my way, it’s just the devil.
The devil, I’m frustrating. It’s just the devil.
Well, let me read you something then see if you wanna change your mind.
1st Peter 55 in the amplified.
Likewise, you that are younger and of lesser rank be subject to the elders, the ministers and spiritual guides of the church.
Giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel. So you know what that means?
That means that younger people should listen to older people.
Is everybody still breathing? Nobody’s had a heart attack?
And honestly and truly, that’s one of the things that’s gone wrong in our society.
People need to show respect for older people.
And not treat them like some worn out antiquated wrinkled up piece of flesh that doesn’t know anything anymore.
So Cloth, apron, yourselves, all of you with humility as the garb of a servant so that it’s covering cannot possibly be stripped from you with freedom from pride and arrogance toward one another.
Now watch this. For god, not the devil, for god sets himself against the proud, the insulin, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous the boastful, and he, god, opposes, frustrates, and defeats them.
But he gives grace to the humble.
So that means if I’m trying to do something that really only god can do, he’s gonna oppose me, and I’m gonna be frustrated because my plan’s not working out, but my plan’s never gonna work out if it’s my plan and not god’s plan.
Amen. Proverbs 169, a man’s mind plans his way, but god directs his steps.
Thankfully, You ever wonder why things seem to be going the opposite of how you’re trying to get them to go?
That’s god pulling you in the right direction.
One of the reasons why we experienced so much struggle in our life is because we’re trying to go one way and god’s trying to go another.
God’s plan is usually beyond our limited thinking, Isaiah 55, 8, and 9.
From my thoughts are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways, my ways declares the lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Now, you know, we all love Ephesians 320.
For god is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all that we could ever dare to hope, ask our think.
Think No matter what you can think of, god can do something greater than that if you’ll put your trust in him and be willing to wait on his plan to come to pass in your life instead of doing your own thing.
Amen? But then it says according to the power that work within us.
So god is able to do all these great things according to the power that works in us.
And what is that power that he’s talking about? I think it’s the power of faith. Yes.
You don’t need a bunch of bright ideas. You just need more faith than god. Come on.
I said, we don’t need a bunch of you. You know what?
You know how you look when you get a bright idea?
I know what I’ll do. And that’ll work.
What god wants to hear is I’ve got my trust in you.
I’m not making a move unless you show me what to do.
I’m not moving on my own.
We need to be afraid to move on our own because all it’s gonna be is ways to turn.
Acknowledge him in all your ways.
God, this is what I’m setting out to do, but if it’s wrong, then please stop me.
I don’t wanna do anything that you don’t want me to do.
That’s a much better plan than us trying to talk god into giving us what we want.
Have you ever found yourself giving god advice? Yeah. Go ahead. I have to.
Yeah. I almost did it the other day.
Now God, you know, you could This would work.
Have you thought of that? Why don’t you try that? We’re pretty funny.
How about over here? You ever try to give god advice? Yeah. Has he ever taken it yet?
No. Certainly not.
You know, I tried to go on television once before it was god’s time.
And we got a little free cable station in our city.
And they’d let you come there and film and then showed on cable free.
And, uh, so I got this idea that I was gonna have a talk show.
And so I took 3 or 4 of the ladies that worked for me down to this studio every week, and I would start out to ask them questions.
The problem was was I’m a teacher, not an interviewer, and so I would ask a question and then answer it.
So they were all just like props.
They just They just sat there.
You know, I don’t I don’t do too many interviews on my TV show because to be honest, I’m not very good at it.
I have a real hard time letting other people talk, especially if I don’t think they’re right.
Come on.
Oh, now don’t be doing that. This guy is pointing at his wife over here.
It’s like come on. I can find something for you too.
Davis David, he’s wonderful.
He’s so protective of me and always wants to make sure I don’t hurt myself and The other night I, uh, he woke up and apparently I was scratching my arm in my sleep.
And he said, Joyce, Toys, you’re scratching your arm. I said, well, it did choose.
I mean, he likes to help me with everything.
And I’m not the type of person that likes a whole lot of help.
I wanna just leave me alone and let me do things the way I wanna do them.
I’ve gotten off in a ditch here.
I gotta get back to something that makes sense.
So anyway, 6 months, I was on this TV show, so you thought I forgot.
6 months, I had this TV show, and in 6 months, we got one piece of mail.
So my lightning fast brain said, this is not working. You know what?
Things won’t work if they’re not god. Hello? So listen to me.
If you’re struggling with something right now and how many of you get frustrated a lot.
Oh my gosh. Is this for you? You know what frustrates us?
Trying to do something that’s not working. That’s never gonna work.
Because it’s not god’s plan. If you want peace in your life, then if god’s not in it, Get out of it.
And if god is in it, then be patient and let him do it in his timing the way he wants to.
Jesus didn’t die just so we could go to heaven someday. He died so we could enjoy life.
And we cannot enjoy life if we’re always frustrated about how long things are taking and always can fused because we don’t understand what’s going on in our life.
If I were to ask today how many of you have been confused lately, how many hands would go up?
Okay. Now look at me. You know why? Because you’re trying to figure something out.
You cannot get confused if you refuse to try to figure things out.
You can’t. You can’t get confused.
Now I’m not saying that we’re just a bunch of dummies and we don’t ever think about anything, but here’s here’s my guideline.
I can ponder it I can roll it over and over into my mind until I start to feel confused.
I start to lose my peace. Then I’ve gotta let it go.
And I had a huge problem with reasoning. I might even say I was addicted to reasoning.
In other words, I could not settle down.
Just just like a a drug addict can’t settle down until they get their fixed.
Well, me thinking that I knew what God was gonna do was my fix.
I had to think I had it all figured out and in the right place.
But there were so many things that I thought I had figured out, and I didn’t have a clue what God was gonna do.
You know, god can do something in your life ten times the exact same way, and just about the time you think you’ve got him figured out, he’ll do something completely different that totally shocks you.
Amen? Everybody say god knows what he’s doing.
Man’s steps are ordered by the lord. No wonder that we don’t understand our way.
What would be the most amazing thing that I could talk about?
Well, we’d have to talk about amazing grace. The only way you can really define grace is Amazing.
It’s god’s power given to us as a gift, enabling us to do what we could never do with ease.
There’s nothing like it in the world.

Have you ever felt set up set up by god?
Well, it’s a good thing if you have. Listen to this.
Amanda from Canada writes, when I was in my childhood and teens, I experienced depression.
I grew up in a non religious household And while I had a good life, a loving and open minded family, friends, food, shelter, and education, I felt that something was missing.
Not knowing what that something was, my depression grew as I felt more and more inadequate.
I hid my depression from the world, and I became angry and resentful.
I started to hate myself. I tried to hide my problems by throwing myself into school work and part time jobs When I reached university, I studied religion, learning about ancient religions, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.
Still, I remained agnostic and fell to void.
One day, years later, I was working at a client’s house where I could only manage to pick up the frequency of one radio station.
Joyce Myers voice came on the program and suddenly something clicked.
I went home that night and watched over a dozen videos on Joyce’s website.
I ordered CDs so I could listen to teachings while I worked. I want to thank the ministry for leading me to Christ.
I’ve seen the difference that it has made in my life and in my relationships, and I’m glad that I can be a partner with Joyce Meyer Ministries in helping to spread the gospel.
Wow. After years of seeking and researching religions and looking everywhere, God set Amanda up by making sure she could only get one radio station, that one particular program where the word was being shared.
He introduced himself to her through Joyce’s teaching, and our partners helped facilitate their meeting.
Just like she said, she’s glad to be a partner because our partners do this every day several times a day and all around the world.
