Before we begin, I just want to take a moment to honor the work God is doing in the lives of the men and women in this house. Let’s take a moment to honor the pastors of this church, as well as the dedicated staff and volunteers who make everything possible. Amen. I also want to honor my husband, who is my rock, and I am deeply grateful for him. Right now, in Los Angeles—well, not right at this moment, but this morning—we are celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. I’m also incredibly thankful for my pastors, who support and understand the calling of God in my life, allowing us to move around and celebrate what God is doing.

Let’s pray. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your love and goodness. We thank You, Lord Jesus, that You are here with us. Your Word says that when two or three are gathered in Your name, You are in the midst of us. We know that You are here because we did not gather for entertainment but to fulfill Your purpose, Your will, and to see Your kingdom come in the lives of Your people. Holy Spirit, glorify Jesus through everything we do, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

You may be seated. Thank you, Lord. I’m so excited about what God is doing. As you take notes this morning, my message is titled God Problems. In life, we often encounter challenges that can’t be solved by our human understanding or wisdom. These moments are part of life. While we may view them as discouraging, we will face them at different stages because we are called to walk with the Lord. We are not meant to navigate life on our own. The Bible says, “Cursed is the one who trusts in man.” Too often, we drift away from God’s ways and build a civilization without Him. When that is disrupted, we are lost.

I remember a time when I began reading the Bible again. I love God’s Word, and the more you have it in you, the more it transforms you from the inside out. I came across the story of Cain and Abel, and it opened my eyes in a new way. After man’s fall, God gave a promise to the woman: her seed would crush the enemy’s seed. Both the woman and the enemy heard this. The enemy, knowing the promise, tried to stop it. The woman, however, anticipated the coming of the seed. God didn’t reveal to her that He Himself would be the seed, coming in the form of man to restore authority to humanity, which left room for curiosity about how this would unfold.

Eve gave birth to Cain, and she was excited, thinking, “Could this be the promised seed?” The enemy, however, was also watching, wanting to sway Cain to his side. Then, Abel was born, and there wasn’t much said about his birth. The Bible simply mentions, “Then Abel.” The time came for the brothers to bring offerings before the Lord. Abel’s offering was accepted by God, but Cain’s was rejected. The enemy saw an opportunity and began to influence Cain’s thoughts. But the Lord told Cain, “If you do what is right, you will be accepted.” Instead of humbling himself and asking, “What did I do wrong, and how can I do right?” Cain, filled with pride, envy, and jealousy, became angry. Perhaps he thought, “How dare my younger brother be accepted while I am rejected?”

The Lord warned Cain, “Sin is at your door, and its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.” Suddenly, sin is depicted with a personality. It wasn’t just random. The Lord was speaking about how the enemy was at Cain’s door, desiring to control him. But the Lord reassured Cain that this didn’t have to be his story—he had the power to rule over it.
