What’s Your “Thing”? | Joyce Meyer’s Talk It Out Podcast | Episode 147

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

Hi friends, and welcome! Today’s episode is all about discovering and using your unique talents for God’s purposes. Sometimes, we think ministry has to look a certain way—like preaching or teaching—but the truth is, anything done for God can be spiritual.

It’s easy to feel like our gifts don’t measure up unless they’re visibly “spiritual,” but the truth is, God can use our unique abilities in countless ways. Whether it’s through our work, a kind gesture, or even sharing a skill, we’re equipped to make a positive impact wherever we go.

This show is where we talk practically about life and God’s Word. We apply it together, sharing insights that everyone—from our girlfriends to the guys who tune in—can use. And, of course, we’re excited to have Joyce, Erin, and a special guest joining us today to discuss how we can serve God through our talents in ways that might surprise us.

On a lighter note, it’s fall! The crisp air, cozy sweaters, and pumpkin spice everything! Erin’s all about it—candles, foods, drinks—and even joked about pumpkin spice toothpaste. While Joyce isn’t as aware of the pumpkin spice craze, we’re all embracing the uniqueness that each season (and each person) brings.

Gifts for God’s Kingdom

Sometimes, we feel that if we’re not like Joyce or Erin, we don’t have much to offer. But God places unique gifts in each of us, and we’re called to use them. While Joyce’s path was clear from the start, many people take a different route to discover their calling. That’s okay—God’s purposes come to life in various ways, all contributing to His kingdom.

Joyce shared a powerful insight: while her ministry is preaching, teaching, and writing, she’s called to serve in everyday ways, just like anyone else. It’s a reminder that living out our faith isn’t limited to what others see. It’s also about serving in simple, meaningful ways.

Finding Your Calling

We often ask, “What’s my purpose?” but our main calling as Christians is to love and serve others. Sometimes, it’s easy to blur the lines between our careers and our callings, but the two don’t have to be the same. We’re all called to serve, in big and small ways, and everything we do for God is part of that purpose.
