What’s in Your Blind Spot? – Bishop T.D. Jakes
What’s in Your Blind Spot?
Often when we speak of haters, everyone shouts, “Amen!” Both the victim and the perpetrator respond with equal enthusiasm. It appears to me that we have ways of justifying our malice toward others. But, wise people know that mercy isn’t meant to be hoarded at the expense of those who need it whether they deserve it or not. We are the recipients of grace that we are often slow to dispense. Let’s change that today!
“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy (Matthew 5:7 NIV).”
Blind spots, blind spots are the places that we allow ourselves not to be changed areas that you won’t allow your faith to touch where your faith is not penetrating and you don’t see it.
Vengeance and anger and hurt, create blind spots.
I’m not talking about good people and evil people, right people and wrong people.
I’m talking about places where there should be love but there’s hate like maybe your heart.
I wonder what is in your blind spot?
Who is suffering in your blind spot for the lack of something that you refuse to give?
Some people are nicer to strangers than they are to their own family.
How can you say that you love God and hate me?
Just because you’re gifted and just because you’re anointed and just because you’re successful doesn’t mean you’re right.
Just because you made a lot of money doesn’t mean you’re right. You cannot substitute cash for righteousness.
If God measures the saturation of our faith, by the way, we treat people.
How deep is yours? How deep are you in it?
What I am asking you to do is to reflect the mercy.
You have been given the reason I have to be merciful is because I have received mercy.
And every time I want to be judgmental, I keep remembering something that God did in my life.
Mercy doesn’t end with you. Mercy begins with you.
I think God wants to make you a sanctuary.
He wants to make your heart a sanctuary. This is not about them, this is about you.
God wants you to be free.
What’s your new blind spot?
I just want to get to know you Better Lord I need to get to know you Better for myself and I love you too Lord
My blind spot is my lack of trust in people maybe he sends help and I refuse it because I’ve been screwed over so many times I get afraid
I’m very much in need now as I’ve been homeless for about 3 weeks im so sick with liver and kidney failure having been told for 4 years my skin rash was phycological it turns out it was my liver all the time and the utis I thought I had turns out to be my kidneys I’ve got a vad chest infection and im in do much pain
Services keep failing me and im in crown court Fri 16 may charged with assaulting a emergency worker by beating
I didn’t do this so I’ve pleaded not guilty
The judge at my last hearing urged me to accept a condition discharge
However I refused as it would go on my record.
She said if found guilty I would have to pay 15,000 pound and they would throw the book at me ie a custodial sentence
The police officer PC Harris stamped on my left foot and broke it but he did it out of range of his body cam he lied to the custody servant over his radio saying I had no injuries
When they opened the police van to take me into the police station 5 or 6 beefy police men were lined up and there was a tolken police lady who said whos blood is that all over the floor then she said omg its yours your foot is bleeding please pray for pappas victory that he may be glorified
Thank you
