Unshakeable Faith In God | A Blessed Morning Prayer To Start Your Day
In the book of Hebrews, we find several warnings that every one of us as believers in Christ should pay attention to.
One of the warnings that I would like to highlight today is a warning about the danger of unbelief.
Hebrews chapter three verse 12 says, see to it, brothers and sisters that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
This is a serious warning because Paul is telling us that we need to see to it, that none of us have a wicked and unbelieving heart, heart that simply refuses to trust and rely on the Lord a heart that has been so hardened by sin that it simply turns away from the living God.
It denies his power. And let me show you just why unbelief is so crippling to a Christian.
In Matthew chapter 13, when Jesus was coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in the synagogue.
And verse 38 tells us this. Now he did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Jesus did not perform any miracles because there was so much unbelief in the people there.
And so it’s imperative that you and I are alert to the dangers of unbelief.
When you have a heart that is filled with unbelief, you are denying God’s power and you are denying that God is truth.
So we need to pay attention to this warning today.
The Bible tells us to see to it that none of us has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
Now, on the opposite scale of things.
Here’s why it’s so important for us to have faith and believe in the Lord John chapter three verse 36 says, whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life for God’s wrath remains on them, for us to truly walk with the Lord.
We must have faith. Faith will lead you to walk in obedience because you believe God’s word over and above everything else.
Faith will cause you to refuse to walk with your natural sight.
Because when you have faith, you have a strong persuasion, a strong conviction to follow the plan of the Lord, to follow his word and to follow his will.
The things of God do not go hand in hand with the ways of this world.
This is why faith is so important.
We need to be governed by the word of God and not by the rules of this world.
And so with this understanding, let us pray, King Jesus, help us to believe, increase our faith.
Lord, remove this heart of stone from us, a heart that has doubts and questions and give us new hearts, father hearts that are rooted in your word hearts that are empowered by the Holy Spirit, to believe and to stand strong in faith.
Help us King Jesus to have the kind of faith that is resilient and strong, help us Lord to have the kind of faith that pleases you the kind of faith that believes that you are above our problems.
Hebrews chapter 11 verse six says, but without faith, it is impossible to walk with God and please Him, for whoever comes near to God must necessarily believe that God exists and that He rewards those who earnestly and diligently seek Him.
Lord. We believe that it’s never too late for you to move and work wonders in our lives.
Holy Spirit. I pray that you would touch our hearts and remind us that our Lord is able, he is able to mend broken hearts.
He is able to restore broken families. Jesus Christ is still able to heal.
Remind us Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ is still able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think.
And so Lord Jesus, we praise you, we praise you because you have defeated death, you have defeated the devil.
And it’s only through you that we can obtain victory over sin.
So we ask you Lord to bring freedom where there is captivity, bring peace where there is worry, Lord Jesus, we ask that you bring deliverance where there is oppression.
Father, we believe that even in this present day, you are still able to work miracles in our lives.
And so we call on you.
We declare Psalm chapter 30 verse 10 to 12 where the bible reads, hear o Lord and have mercy on me.
Lord, be my helper. You have turned for me, my mourning into dancing.
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness to the end that my glory may sing.
Praise to you and not be silent. Oh Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.
May all thanks be given to you King Jesus forever more because we may be in the middle of great difficulty.
We may be under pressure and distress.
But your word in Matthew chapter 11 verse 28-30 says, come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Father.
We can only find rest and restoration in you.
And so for the burdens that we carry, Lord, we cast them to you.
We acknowledge our weaknesses as we praise you for your strength.
And so Lord Jesus, we ask that your hand may be seen in our lives where we struggle.
We trust you for the victory. We thank you for hearing this prayer.
We bless your precious name, King Jesus.
Amen.
