The Coming of The Lord – Stephanie Okafor

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

Hallelujah! Can we praise Jesus in the house? Amen, amen, amen! It’s such a blessing to be here with all of you. London is becoming like another home, but I am so grateful for what God is doing. The presence of God is tangible in this place, and I am truly burdened this morning by the Word of the Lord. Wow, thank you, Lord! Let us take a moment to pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank You, Lord Jesus. We worship You and praise You. We thank You because we know You have a Word to release to Your sons and daughters. Lord, we won’t stand in the way of what You desire to do. Holy Spirit, glorify Jesus through everything we do. We surrender and submit ourselves to You, Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Amen, you may be seated. Can we just take a moment to honor the pastors, the teams, and everyone here today? There is so much that happens behind the scenes in a church that you may not even realize. Let’s honor the volunteers, the staff, and take a moment to celebrate them.

Amen! Yesterday was so special. Who was at the Arise Conference? Amazing, amazing! You know, there was a word I received there, and there are two things the Lord has really put on my heart during my time here. Last night and this morning, as I sat with the Lord unpacking this message, I sensed something shifting in direction, though I didn’t fully understand it at the time.

On the way to church, I had a vision. In this vision, I saw men dressed as shepherds. I understood them to be shepherds, and they were running down from the mountains in droves. There were many shepherds, and they had abandoned their sheep. The sheep were scattered everywhere, and the shepherds were shouting loudly, “The Lord is coming!” One of them even shouted, “Do you not know the Lord is coming?” They were running and shouting.

As I shared this vision with my husband, I tried to unpack it, and I asked the Holy Spirit what it meant. The Holy Spirit reminded me to go back and read the account of Jesus’ birth, when angels appeared to shepherds and announced His arrival. So, I went to the Scriptures. Let me read this passage with you:

In Luke 2, verses 17-20, it says: “Now when they had seen Him, these were the shepherds. The angels had revealed themselves to them, saying, ‘They made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this child.’ And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.”

The Lord spoke to me and said, “There are shepherds sounding the alarm, proclaiming that I am returning, but my people must be sensitive to the times and seasons.” We are living in such interesting times. As humans, we have the ability to adapt, even in the midst of chaos. I was reflecting on the beginning of COVID-19, when people panicked, losing their minds, asking if it was the end of the world. Everywhere you went, there were prayer groups. Then the vaccine came, and we adapted. We found a way through it, and the intensity of prayer many once had faded because we learned to adapt.

But I’ve never had a stronger sense of urgency in my spirit than I do now concerning what’s to come. Many ministers receive different ways in which God deals with them when He wants to share something urgent. For me, when God emphasizes something, He reveals it through visions and dreams, consistently. Recently, the Lord has been speaking about how the world as we know it is going to change, and it will happen suddenly. I’ve been wrestling with this, asking God, “What does this mean? What does it look like?” But because we can adapt and be easily distracted, we may not fully grasp what is happening.

This message emphasizes the need to be alert, sensitive to God’s leading, and prepared for what lies ahead.
