The Book Of Revelation & the Amazing Ezekiel Decoder
Jonathan Cahn opens up of the Book of Revelation, we’re going to see (& use!) one of the most amazing, important, and overlooked decoders that God has given to open that book and that most believers have not known – Something you would never expect and yet the connections are stunning!
The Four Living Creatures: Ezekiel and Revelation Aligned
In the Book of Revelation, the order of the four living creatures is revealed as a lion, an ox, a man, and an eagle. This mirrors the four Gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John — each representing a distinct aspect of the Messiah. Similarly, in Ezekiel’s vision, he sees these same four faces on the living creatures: lion, ox, man, and eagle. However, while each creature in Revelation reflects one aspect, Ezekiel’s creatures bear all four faces simultaneously. This remarkable parallel highlights the unity of Scripture and offers deeper insight into the nature of Christ.
The Scrolls with Writing on Both Sides
In Ezekiel 2, the prophet sees a hand stretched out to him, holding a scroll covered with words of “lamentation and mourning and woe” on both sides. This vision directly parallels Revelation 5, where John sees a scroll in God’s right hand, sealed with seven seals and also written on both sides. A mighty angel proclaims, “Who is worthy to open the scroll?” — and only the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is found worthy. Both prophets are shown divine scrolls — both are given divine messages written on both sides.
Eating the Scroll: Internalizing the Word
God tells Ezekiel to eat the scroll He gives him — to take it into himself and then speak to the people of Israel. Likewise, in Revelation 10, John is commanded by an angel to take and eat the little scroll. It tastes sweet as honey in his mouth but turns sour in his stomach. This reveals a prophetic pattern: the Word of God is sweet to the spirit but heavy in responsibility when spoken as judgment.
The Throne of God: A Shared Vision
Ezekiel and John both see visions of God’s throne surrounded by brilliance, radiance, and living beings. Ezekiel describes a figure like a man glowing with fire, radiating light like a rainbow. Revelation echoes this in chapter 1, where Jesus is described with hair white as wool, eyes like flames, and feet like glowing bronze. Both men fall on their faces in awe — Ezekiel in Ezekiel 1:28 and John in Revelation 1:17. The divine presence is overwhelming and consistent across both visions.
