Remembering God’s Blessings Leads to Power and Victory
Friday, August 25, 2023
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year’s Biblical name is “Yom Teruah” Day of the Blasting – Feast of Trumpets. Israel was commanded to blow the Shofar; the ram’s horn, to signal that the summer harvest was over, the Great Day of Atonement was near. Get ready to stand before your God. The Feast of Trumpets is prophetic. We’re in the age of the great harvest. The next great event will be the sound of the trumpets which will end the harvest. Then we will each stand before God. We pretend this life will never end. We waste our time putting off what we know is right for tomorrow. We fall asleep. But the Feast of Trumpets is God’s wake-up call; you don’t have forever here. You walk through this life only once and one day you’ll stand before your Maker. Therefore, if you would do good, repent, tell that person you love them, forgive or be forgiven, get right, step out in faith, live in righteousness. Do it now. Hear the trumpets, do it today. For tomorrow may not come and the day of salvation is today.
The world sets up stones, whether it’s a stone or a statue, it is for often they do for the dead.
But in the Bible, they are to commemorate the calls of god.
Samuel then took a stone, set it up between Mits and Shen, and he named it Ebaniza.
He said, thus, far the lord has helped us. Now it’s not ebenezer, actually. It’s it’s Ebon.
Say it? He’s there. Evan as a Evan Stone as their help help.
God is the god of our help. So, therefore, you get the word Ezra from that.
You get you get you get Lazarus from that.
And so and the Azar from that, as our god has been our help. God is our help.
We’re gonna remember this day. We’re gonna remember this victory.
This was a landmark And so it’s setting up a stone to remember the victory that they had that day.
Interesting. It was it was it was set up near a place called Mitzbah, Mitzbah, you know what that you know what that comes from?
Mitzbah refers to the stones that Jacob and Leben set up between them. So now stones.
Stones commemorated the Jordan miracle. They commemorated the the victory at Mitzvah. in both cases, a stone.
I remember I was in Cuba. An amazing thing happened.
There was a night when I planned to preach book up Joel.
It was the 1st night of this celebration, this month celebration that that Castro allowed. We were outdoors.
I won’t go into the detail now, but that night, god literally physically manifested the book of Joel in the heavens and the earth in the middle of it.
It ended with an outpouring of revival.
literally an outpouring of rain at the same time and the Holy Spirit.
We were told later by people in Cuba that in that city, what happened there, they call it the unforgettable night.
Interesting because the name of the place where the unforgettable night took place, and I didn’t realize that at the time, was ebenezer.
The stone that Samuel set up And here’s the guy who sent us to that place was named Samuel.
And so it would become the unforgettable night, but Ed ebenezer is about the stone to remember so something stays unforgettable.
Why stones? Why do we set up stones at graves? Because stones are solid. They don’t change.
They’re the most unchanging thing we know of in the fis in physical terms. Terms are solid.
They stay the same. So years later, decades later, centuries later, they’re still there.
The world sets up stones, whether it’s a stone or a statue it is for often they do for the dead, but in the Bible, they are to commemorate the miracles of god.
the victories of god, to keep it in your mind, keep it in your consciousness, keep it in your memory, because the event is gonna be over.
They wouldn’t see it anymore. Remember it says that, Mary, of an of the time of Bethlehem and everything happened in the shepherds and all and the birth assist, but Mary treasured these things in her heart.
Because the event goes or the victory passes I mean, you know, events pass, But the stone is gonna stay there so that they would remind them of what god had done, that the nation would never forget.
So when the nation gets discouraged, It’ll remember, see the stone and remember god.
What god did, or forgetful of god. See the stones? Remember god’s the one who was faithful to us.
He did a miracle, or tempted to turn away from god to bail or Ash Torah, see the stone.
This is your god who saved you. the stone will be a reminder, a marker. Sometimes you wanna remember something.
You have to do something. I’ll put an object Well, okay. I’ll see that. I’ll remember it.
That’s what it is. The stone of remembrance, stone of a miracle, stone of a breakthrough, stone of the mighty works of god.
What happened after they set up that stone, Eben Azer, it says this.
The Phil’s teams were subdued and stopped invading Israel.
Through throughout Samuel’s lifetime, the hand of god was against the Philistines.
The towns from Ekron to Gough caused a strip and around there that the Philippines had captured from Israel were restored to Israel, and Israel delivered the neighboring territory from the hands of the Philistines and there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
From that, that one time, now they had other things, but it says from that time, They had a victory, and they set up the stone, and then they had total victory peace.
Stopped invading. What happened after they set up the stones from the Jordan. What happened after that?
Jericho happened. The miracle of victory of Jericho, the the stones of the Jordan led to the stones falling in Jericho.
What’s the connection? They set up a stone It leads them to more victory.
The world sets up stones for death. Here, god’s people set up stones for miracles and breakthrough.
You wanna be victorious? You need to set up stones.
You need to set up stones, something that we’re we’re often don’t do.
You need to set up stones for what god has done for you.
Thus far, you need to set up stones for the works of god in your life.
You need to set stones for the times you crossed out of darkness and delight.
These set up stones for when you when you had a breakthrough from god.
You need you had a victory in god set up the stone. You had a breakthrough.
You took a new step of faith, a new step of repentance, set up a stone.
It’s not enough to do it, set up a stone.
It’s this crucial that you you would stones for what you and listen, maybe you’re afraid to share the gospel.
You share the gospel. set up a stone.
I’m gonna tell you how to set up a stone in a moment.
But you did something you never did before. You took another step in a direction.
Maybe it was a little step, but you never did it before. Set up a stone. Move forward.
Set up your so every answered prayer, you gotta stone, lord. Thank you for answering my prayer.
Every open door, thank you, lord. let me not forget. Let me never forget.
Every every single victory, let me never forget it, lord. I wanna live in that celebrate and have a party.
You can reward yourself. God, you did something good. You know, do something good. Be bless yourself.
You’d bless your child if they did something good. You can you can encourage yourself.
You in god, rejoice in the good, and you won’t rejoice in the evil. rejoice in the lord.
Always is a safeguard for you. Make it a big thing. Make a big deal out of it.
Get into it. Look. Get into rejoicing in the good. Make get a big storm. Do something good. Whatever.
Whatever you have to do right memorialize it. Bible says you’re supposed to go from glory to glory.
Well, that glory leads to glory. Glory gives birth to law.
Get it glory in the glory of god and what he has done, and you’re gonna move in glory.
You’re gonna move into it. Get into it. It’s gonna move you to the next glory.
God wants to bless you. But it says, remember, never forget, dwell on god. make a big today.
Today, few things to do to start changing things.
1st, Some of you just sit down, write down the blessings, write down.
You won’t be able to write down all the blessings, but write down some.
And thank god, then give praise to god.
that just just watch what it’s gonna do to your heart, but also take a step forward and then rejoice in that step.
One little step. I turned down that sin today. I didn’t do it before. That’s not a little deal.
That’s a big deal. I’m getting into.
That’s a sign of the victory God has given me in the sign that I’m gonna have victory.
I’m going with that. I’m encouraging myself. I’m blessed. I’ve got momentum from god.
set up your stone, rejoice in god. The stone of your jordan, the stone of your crossing.
Every single one of you who are born again, you got something to rejoice about.
that god had that had Helena this morning specifically moved her to bring in stones, and one of them had the date of the salvation.
That means you have a miracle. You got just by that. You got the power to overcome anything.
