Pastor Greg Laurie Daily Devotional – September 29, 2026: Holding On When You Feel Like Letting Go

If your heart feels a little heavy today, you’re not alone. Maybe you woke up with worries about your family, your health, your job, or the unknown future. Perhaps you love Jesus, but you’re tired, discouraged, and wondering how much longer you can keep going like this. On this September 29, 2026, God is inviting you to do something very simple yet deeply powerful: don’t let go of Him, because He will never let go of you. As Pastor Greg Laurie so often reminds believers, our hope is not in our feelings or our circumstances; our hope is in a faithful God who finishes what He starts. Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that even in the pressure and confusion of life, your Father sees you, knows you, and is holding you close.

Strength for the Battle

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV) This verse comes from a moment when the Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. Fear screamed that they were finished, but God had already written a different ending. Instead of demanding that they figure it out, He called them to a posture of trust: be still. This doesn’t mean inactivity or apathy; it means refusing to panic, refusing to take matters into our own hands, and choosing to believe that God is at work even when we don’t see it yet. The same God who parted the Red Sea is with you in your living room, your car, your office, and your hospital room today. He is fighting for you, sometimes in ways you won’t recognize until later.

Faith That Walks Through Ordinary Days

Faith is not just for church services and spiritual highs; it’s for traffic jams, emails, medical tests, and bills that don’t add up. When life feels overwhelming, it’s easy to think, “If I had more faith, I wouldn’t feel this stressed.” But faith is not the absence of feelings; it’s the decision to trust God in the middle of them. Today, you can practice this by inviting Jesus into each part of your day. Whisper a prayer before sending that text. Ask for wisdom before that meeting. Thank Him for small blessings—hot coffee, a kind word, a quiet moment. When negative thoughts rush in, pause and say, “Lord, I choose to trust You right here.” Over time, these small moments build a deep, steady faith that can weather any storm.

Lord, Grow My Faith in You

Father, today I choose to place my faith not in what I see, but in who You are. Increase my trust when I’m tempted to worry. Help me remember Your past faithfulness so I can rest in Your present care. Teach me to listen for Your voice in Scripture and obey even when it’s hard. Stir my heart to love You more than comfort, more than approval, more than success. Strengthen my spiritual walk so I don’t drift, but draw closer to You every day. Let my faith be alive, practical, and real—shaping my decisions, my words, and my reactions. Jesus, I believe; help my unbelief today.

Cover My Home with Your Peace

Lord, I lift up my family and loved ones to You. You know every burden they carry, every secret fear, every quiet tear. Bring peace into our home—peace that pushes out tension, anger, and anxiety. Heal broken relationships and soften hearts that have grown distant or defensive. Guard our conversations so that our words build up instead of tear down. Surround my children, spouse, parents, and friends with Your presence. May our home be a small sanctuary where Your love is felt, Your name is honored, and Your grace is extended. Restore joy where it has faded, and knit us together in unity and forgiveness.

Healing, Strength, and Wholeness

Gracious Father, I place my body, mind, and emotions in Your hands. For every sickness, pain, and weakness, I ask for Your healing touch. Guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with wisdom and skill. When I feel weary, renew my strength like the eagle’s. Calm the storm inside my mind—anxiety, depression, confusion, and fear—and replace it with Your steady peace. Help me make wise choices about rest, food, exercise, and emotional boundaries. Remind me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and teach me to
