Overflowing In The Ordinary // Livin’ In The Overflow (Part 6) // Michael Todd

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

I hope you’re having an amazing day, but if not, I’m here to tell you that after watching this, your day is about to get a whole lot better! We’re beyond excited because we can officially announce that Overflow, the album, is out now! Yes, you heard right—it’s available! Your favorite tracks like “Overflow,” “Nothing At All,” “Evidence,” “Anchored,” “CM Amigo,” and “Yahweh” are now ready for you to worship with. These songs have been the sound of this house, and now you can take them with you every day—whether you’re at the gym, driving in the car, or spending time with your kids.

I’m asking two things from you:

  1. Please go and buy the album. It’s just $5.99, and if each of us uses the resources we have, we can make a real impact and place this music in the heart of culture.
  2. I’d love for you to make a reaction video to your favorite song—whether you’re worshiping to it, journaling, or just reflecting. Send it to us so we can amplify that sound to the world. People need to know that there are still those of us worshiping God in spirit and truth, and this music is just a part of it, allowing us all to live transformed lives.

I love you all, and I’m so excited! Go listen, buy, stream, and share it with everyone. This message will teach you how to live in the Overflow.

Welcome to Week 6 of our series, “Living in the Overflow.” If you’re ready to live in the Overflow, give God a big shout of praise! We’ve covered a lot in this series, so if you haven’t watched the first five parts, make sure to catch up before today’s message.

I’m going to get straight to the point. The first thing you need to know is that Overflow is connected to the ordinary. The world is obsessed with the spectacular, the sensational, but the Bible tells us that God pours His spirit onto ordinary people doing ordinary things with consistent obedience. Many of us long for God’s Overflow, but He can’t release it if we’re not willing to do the ordinary first.

Here’s a quick analogy: A week ago, Natalie and I went to a playoff game in Dallas. I’m always representing Transformation Church, so I got a text from a friend who saw me on ESPN. I proudly showed off our Transformation Worship sign, and it was reposted by so many people. But someone commented, “It must be nice to go on a courtside date night.” And yes, it was nice, but let me be clear: the extraordinary moments are rare. Most of our date nights are pretty ordinary—52 weeks in a year, 52 date nights, but only four of them are extraordinary. The rest of the time, we’re just sitting in the car outside our house, eating takeout and talking about our future when our kids are out of the house.

The ordinary moments are the backdrop to the extraordinary. It’s in those small, everyday moments—like taking out the trash, apologizing, or adjusting the temperature—that our love grows. If we don’t learn to love the blessing of the ordinary, we’ll end up despising most of our lives.

The goal of life is not about chasing goosebumps or sensational moments. Too often, the church has made us believe that Sunday services, with their excellent presentations, creativity, worship, and prayer, are where we grow as believers. But that’s not where transformation happens. Transformation happens in the ordinary, in your daily life, as you walk in obedience to God.

If you want to live in the Overflow, embrace the ordinary.
