Optimism Is Not An Option, It’s An Order // Livin’ In The Overflow (Part 4) // Michael Todd
Hello, my name is Will, and I’m honored to serve as one of the leaders here at Transformation Church. Thank you for tuning in, no matter where you’re watching from! If you haven’t already, be sure to like this video and subscribe to our channel. We believe God has an incredible word for you today, so let’s dive into this powerful message.
This week marks Week 4 of our series titled Living in the Overflow. Let’s say it together: Living in the Overflow. One more time, say it with faith: Living in the Overflow!
God has specifically spoken a prophetic word to our church for this season: He is taking us to another level, and we must declare, I’m living in the Overflow. But what exactly does God’s overflow provide? It gives us everything we need: love, peace, joy, understanding, wisdom, clarity—all of these are abundant in God’s presence. When you draw closer to God, these things naturally overflow into your life.
Think about it this way: Have you ever met someone with a pleasant fragrance? Not a bad smell, but a sweet scent from cologne, Shea butter, or aftershave that lingers even after you leave their presence? It’s similar when you spend time with God—His presence leaves an aroma that stays with you long after your time of worship or Bible reading.
The problem is, many of us spend time with God, but we don’t let that time change us in a lasting way. When you’re close to God, His presence should remain with you. Some people around me, like my team, can even recognize my presence without seeing me because they can “smell” the sweet aroma of Jesus. So, my question is: Does your time with God stay with you throughout the day?
You might be thinking, “But isn’t God just always with me?” Yes, but the overflow of God’s presence in your life should be evident. Through prayer, worship, and His word, He gives you the tools to live out His purpose wherever you go. When you’re connected to God, you don’t have to worry about having enough, because everything you need flows from Him.
Too many people worry about not having enough to handle their responsibilities—whether it’s being a parent, a business owner, or a student. This pressure can lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms like addiction or excessive distractions, such as binge-watching TV. But God says, stay connected to Him. He is your unlimited source of resource, and when you need something, it will flow from Him through you.
In this series, we’re teaching you how to live in the Overflow. Say it with me: I’m living in the Overflow! Now say it with faith: I’m living in the Overflow!
Last week, we discussed the importance of order before overflow. When I watched the message back, I realized I might have been too intense, but God’s principles on getting our lives in order are necessary for progress. Living for God isn’t about perfection—it’s about progression. This week, I want to help you take the next step.
I know many of you are feeling overwhelmed. You have things to get in order—whether it’s your health, your relationships, or your finances. Don’t worry; God has a plan for you. Stay connected to Him, and watch how He provides everything you need.
