JONATHAN CAHN SPEAKS TO CAPITOL HILL
Members of congress and pastors and those who love America.
Tonight, we gathered in the nation’s capital to commemorate the inauguration of America’s first president George Washington and the birth of the American Nation state.
On that day, Washington spoke of the necessity to lift up prayers and supplications to that almighty being who rules over the universe who presides in the Council of Nations.
Tonight, we stand in the city that bears the name of our first president to do the same thing to lift up our prayers to the Almighty.
We’ve gathered here on Capitol Hill in the most exalted of national councils to acknowledge that even the most powerful of nations cannot rise and will not endure apart from the will of the almighty.
2.5 1000 years before Washington placed his hand on the bible to assume the office of presidency.
Another nation hung in the balance. The kingdom of Israel, a kingdom founded on God’s word dedicated to his purposes.
But Israel turned away from God and ignored his work and rejected his ways.
It drove him out of its national life, out of its government, out of its public square and out of the lives of its Children.
Its people abandoned the God of the foundation of their nation and replaced him with idols of sensuality and greed and materialism.
They profane the sacred and they sanctified the profane and upon the altars of bail and Malik flowed the blood of their Children, the Children that they themselves sacrificed.
But there was another nation also founded on the word of God and likewise dedicated from its inception to his will and for his glory.
And that nation is America. Those who laid America’s cornerstone declared it to be a city on a hill, a light to the world, a vessel conceived for his glory.
And they foretold that if America would follow the ways of God, it would become the most blessed civilization on earth.
And so it did. And so we have become the most blessed nation on earth.
But America is also turning from God. We too have ignored his word and have rejected his ways.
We too have driven him out of our national life, out of our government, out of our public square, out of our culture and out of the lives of our Children.
We too have abandoned the God of our foundation and replaced him with idols of sensuality and greed and materialism.
And we too have profaned the sacred and sanctified the profane and upon the altars of our immorality and self enthronement flows the blood of our Children that we ourselves have sacrificed.
And judgment came in ancient times on a people who had once known God, but whose hands were now covered with the blood of thousands, what will become of us, whose hands are covered with the blood of millions.
And if these people whose statues stand before us could see what has happened to this nation, they would not be standing.
They would be on their faces before God in prayer and suffocation.
224 years ago, its first president placed his hand on the Bible of the American nation as we know it came into existence.
And in that first ever presidential address, a prophetic warning was given forever embedded in our National Foundation.
Washington’s warning was this, the propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself has ordained.
In other words, if America should ever turn away from God, if it should ever disregard the eternal rules of order and right ordained by God, then the blessings of heaven, its peace, its prosperity, its power, its protection would be removed from the land.
If that should ever happen. If America should ever turn away from God, how would that turning come?
Come on the day that America abandoned the ways of God as ordained in his word the day.
It redefined what is right and wrong when it called sin, righteousness and righteousness, sin when it turned against its own foundation and when that foundation cracked asunder members of Congress and those who love America here that day has come.
And when that day came to ancient Israel, God called them to return and then allowed the land to be shaken, to wake and turn them from the coming judgment.
The harbinger is a revelation of those warnings given to a nation in danger of judgment.
The nine prophetic signs, the harbingers that appeared in the last days of Ancient Israel before its destruction.
And now these same nine harbingers are reappearing but to a different nation. To America.
Some have manifested in New York City, some in the nation’s capital and at least one right here in this building.
In the last days of Ancient Israel, the kingdom was shaken by an attack on the land.
A strike of terror in the wake of that attack, a national leader uttered a vow on behalf of the people.
The vow proclaimed the people’s defiance in the face of God and invoked judgment on the nation on September 11th, 2001.
A shaking came to America also in the form of an attack.
A strike of terror on the morning after the attack, a national leader spoke on behalf of the American people, a national leader spoke out of his mouth came forth word for word, the ancient vow of defiance which had once proclaimed judgment and destruction on Ancient Israel.
But now to America and it all took place here in this very building on the day that judgment came to ancient Israel.
The destruction returned to the exact same ground on which the nation had been dedicated to God in prayer.
The calamity returned to the nation’s ground of consecration after Washington uttered this prophetic warning on America’s seminal day.
Its first government president and Congress went on foot to the place specifically appointed to pray and consecrate the nation’s future to God.
That place is America’s consecration ground. Where was it?
It was in the nation’s capital, but the nation’s capital wasn’t Washington DC.
It was New York City where specifically America was dedicated to God at ground zero.
America’s consecration ground is ground zero.
The ancient mystery, the calamity returns to the nation’s ground of dedication, the sign of a broken foundation and the call of God to return.
And on that day, a shock wave went forth from that ground and struck America’s first Capitol building, Federal Hall.
The same place where Washington uttered the warning of what would happen if America ever turned from God and the forces caused the foundation to crack open.
And here we are tonight in the building which took the place of Federal Hall to ask this question.
Can a nation disregard the God of its foundation and expect its blessings to remain?
Can a president lay his hand on the Bible and then lead a nation away from the very words upon which his hand rests?
Can a nation. Supreme Court pass judgment on the laws of God and then expect the supreme judge of the universe not to pass judgment on that same nation.
And you who are members of Congress, you are leaders, you stand before God with a high mantle accountable for this nation.
Elections will end. Opinion polls will fade and the praises and powers of man will pass away.
And the one thing that will remain and the only thing that will matter in the end is the judgment of the Almighty, therefore, be strong and do what is right in light of the eternal.
The answer is not politics, economics, or earthly power.
The answer is Jesus, the Messiah, the light of the world and the glory of Israel.
It was for his glory that America came into existence to his will, that it was dedicated.
And in his name, that its hope lies and that hope is given in the same words that were given to ancient Israel now to America, which is this.
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their evil ways.
I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land.
The answer is nothing less than a return to God. You are America’s leaders.
So then lead America as did its first leaders in prayer in repentance and in return, the time is late and a great nation hangs in the balance.
So let the word go forth to America this night, let the call of God sound forth from this capital and from this hill and cover this land from one coast to the other.
A national call to prayer, to repentance, to revival and to return, it’s time to humble ourselves.
It’s time to seek his face and pray. It’s time to repent.
It is time to return for the trumpets are sounding.
The voice of the Almighty is calling forth the voice of one crying in the wilderness.
The voice of God to America.
Return, return, return and let every mountain and hill be cast down and every valley be lifted up.
Let every crooked way become straight and every rough way become a plane and let the glory of the Lord be revealed as the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Amen. God bless you.
