Jack Hibbs : Every Believer Needs To Stay Focused in 2026
I’ve said this before, and I want to say it clearly and strongly in 2026: if you claim to believe something, your life should match what you believe. Real faith is not just words—it’s conviction with follow-through.
If we want a failsafe 2026, we must decide right now to trust God’s Word and live by it. And I want to be direct: this is not a small issue. It’s a life-and-death reality, because every day we are moving closer to eternity.
There is one clear path for 2026: know the Bible—and know how to apply it.
Welcome to 2026. Today’s message is designed to strengthen you for the entire year—not because of who is speaking, but because it is grounded in the truth of God’s Word. This year can become a season of real spiritual growth, deep stability, and meaningful progress. Think of it as a biblical roadmap for victory—a practical guide for walking with Jesus day by day.
As we step into this new year, we’re calling this message “A Failsafe 2026.” The goal is simple: start the year with a fresh foundation. The past year is behind us—whether it was full of victories or disappointments, we place it in God’s hands and refuse to live looking backward.
Scripture teaches us to leave the past behind and move forward. God, in His wisdom, gives us new seasons and new beginnings—not only through changing seasons, but through time itself. That’s why this Sunday is about launching into 2026 with clarity, purpose, and spiritual direction.
Key Bible Passage for a Failsafe 2026
We begin with 2 Peter 1:10–11:
Be diligent to make your calling and election sure—because if you practice these things, you will not stumble. And God will supply an abundant entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
So here’s the question: Is it possible to enter a new year with God’s guardrails—His guidance and protection over our daily lives? The answer is a strong yes.
Some of you may be here because you feel it’s a good idea to start the year with God—and that’s a great beginning. But the key is this: follow through. God doesn’t want to be part of your year only in January. He desires to walk with you every day, shaping your life into a strong, living, powerful Christian life.
And here’s the advantage we have: we have the Bible. We don’t have to guess what to do or what to avoid. We can live with wisdom, direction, and spiritual confidence. And when 2026 ends, we can look back and say, “I wouldn’t change a thing.”
A Foundation for Moving Forward
This message builds on what we discussed in the New Year’s Eve service from Numbers 13. God told Moses to prepare the people to enter the Promised Land—but first, He commanded Moses to send twelve spies to explore the land.
They entered and saw a place described in Scripture as “flowing with milk and honey.” It was beautiful, abundant, and real—exactly what God had promised.
