How To Win Your Spiritual Battle | Jonathan Cahn Sermon
Stand and Conquer: The Secret to Winning Your Spiritual Battles
When life feels like an endless struggle, when temptation, fear, or weakness seem to win again and again, remember this—what was impossible for man becomes possible with God. Strength in the Lord is not something you are born with; it’s something you choose. You don’t tell an Olympic champion to “be strong”—you tell the one who feels weak, who doubts, who has fallen. That’s good news, because even if your faith feels fragile, you can become strong in God.
“Be strong” is an invitation, not a command for the naturally powerful. It’s God telling you, you have a choice. You can choose to rise, to believe His Word, and to step into His strength. The first battle is in your mind—believing that God meant what He said: You can be strong in the Lord.
But there’s an enemy working against that truth. His strategy is simple: to keep you weak, discouraged, and doubting. From the beginning, he whispered, “Did God really say…?” That same voice still whispers today—“That promise isn’t for you. You’ll never change.” But that’s the lie that keeps believers from victory.
God says, “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” That means your strength doesn’t come from your own will—it comes from His Spirit. When you live by His power, the impossible becomes possible. His power gives you the ability to do what you could never do alone—to overcome sin, to endure trial, to fulfill His will for your life.
The more your heart aligns with God’s will, the more His power flows through you. Don’t chase after strength, success, or recognition. Seek the heart of God. Seek His righteousness, and His strength will follow. The power of God always comes through the will of God—and the will of God flows from the heart of God.
When you walk in His will, you walk in His authority. That authority isn’t for personal gain—it’s for fulfilling His calling. You carry the name and authority of the King Himself. Use it to stand against the enemy’s lies, to push back darkness, and to speak victory over your life.
Scripture says to stand against the schemes of the devil. The word “stand” doesn’t mean to hide or survive—it means to take ground. You’re not called to live defensively, waiting for the next attack. You’re called to be on the offense—to advance, to overcome, to push the kingdom of God forward.
When Israel faced destruction, they didn’t wait for defeat—they acted first and won a miraculous victory. That’s the kind of faith God calls you to. Don’t wait for the next temptation or the next storm—take a preemptive strike. Pray before the battle begins. Strengthen your faith before the test comes. Speak life before fear takes hold.
Most believers live reacting to darkness, but light doesn’t react—it acts. Light moves forward and changes everything it touches. You are not called to mirror the world’s fear or pain. You are called to shine God’s light upon it.
So today, stop reacting. Start advancing. Live proactively. Walk in His will. Stand firm in His strength. And when you do, you’ll find that what once felt impossible will bow to the power of the Almighty.
